Imodium (loperamide) for Diarrhea, Acute "I get diarrhoea because of anxiety , usually when I go out. I always have to know where WCs are. So I only go out about once a week. Immodium has never made any difference. I still try it about once every few weeks, but it never works!"

For Diarrhea "I have suffered really badly with irritable bowel syndrome for the past two years. The lady I see at the treatment centre recommended I use loperamide capsuals. I take three everyday and they are really good. I recommend these tablets to anyone who suffers with what I do. Thanks."

For Diarrhea "The old formula worked great. I could always count on it to stop any diarrhea by the second dose. The new formula doesn't work at all. I've tried it many times. I've even tried using more than recommended, but to no avail. It's a waste of money."

Imodium (loperamide) for Diarrhea "This stuff works well... maybe a little too well. I used it multiple times daily for a few weeks (mostly because I am just paranoid) and I ended up severely and dangerously constipated. I am having to get a colonic to remove the stool that has built up inside of me as a result of chronic use of this drug. All in all, it really does work, but you should seriously limit how often you take it. It will make you extremely constipated and painfully bloated if you overdo it. Don’t make the same mistake I did. 5/10 rating for effectiveness, but bad side effects when used long term."

For Diarrhea, Chronic "I was prescribed Loperamide following surgery for cancer of the bowel. It has been a life saver as I no longer need to be consistently near a commode or rest room.I now have formed stool once or twice a day but with plenty of warning before the big boom !"

For Diarrhea, Chronic "I have IBS but no health insurance and can't afford expensive treatments and prescription medications. My wonderful doctor recommended a "maintenance" regimen of 2 loperamide daily to control the chronic diarrhea that was greatly affecting my life. Between this and watching my diet, sticking mainly to non-dairy, sugar free and gluten free foods, I've been able to live a mostly normal life with very few flare ups. I highly recommend."

Imodium A-D (loperamide) for Traveler's Diarrhea "I just got back from Mexico 12/07/19 and would not have been able to board the plane if it were not for Imodium A-D. It absolutely saved my ass! I do not understand these complaints about packaging though it's quite simple, peel back paper cover and pop the thing through. The packaging matters very little to me considering I would still be in Mexico if it were not for this medication. THANK YOU!!! from the bottom of my bowels."

Imodium A-D (loperamide) for Diarrhea "I was tappering off of both MS Contin and Percocet and developed diarrhea. I started taking Imodiun and started itching and a rash. It did help the diarrhea but I am one of the people that had a reaction to this medication, unfortunately. I also had cramping, and sweating as well as lightheadedness."

Imodium (loperamide) for Diarrhea, Chronic "Have been taking Imodium daily for several years and I am grateful it exists. Without it I could not function as my IBS can interfere with daily routines - like driving to work. I learnt only this year was how important it to stay well hydrated while on this drug. It is critical to drink lots! I often take extra care on hot days by taking something to keep the electrolytes up - (e.g. Hydrolyte)."

Imodium A-D (loperamide) for Diarrhea, Acute "I left Florida for a trip to Budapest, Hungary with an acute case of diarrhea that threatened to spoil the expensive day trips I had paid for. I apothecary recommended I take Lopedium brand capsules (only available in a few countries, not the USA). It after taking just two capsules and as needed for the remainder on the trip, with no side affects.. Imodium A-D is the US equivalent, I understand."

Anti-Diarrheal (loperamide) for Diarrhea, Acute "They helped me a little bit for a short time after taking 4 doses but I need to get a stool culture so I may have something other than typical diarrhea. The main reason for my review is to say that the caplets are extremely difficult to get out of the individual packing. I needed scissors to cut it open. Most caplets/pills are easy to get out by peeling away the paper on the back but that's impossible to do with this medication."

For Diarrhea, Chronic "I have had chronic diarrhea for over ten years, reasonably controlled by two 2mg tablets. Have tried many things to control it- different meds (forget what, but they did not work). Tried probiotics but they made it worse. Took myself off loperamide- nothing happened for 8 days, then it came back big-time. Sought medical help. I have a wonderful doctor but this seems to be the kind of thing that one has to mostly work out by oneself. Am reading the book "The Happy Gut". Helping but it's hard to implement their approach entirely. Have learned that breads with white flower are a problem. Scrambled eggs, unless cooked quite hard, are bad. Oranges, which I love, are not good. Lithuanian rye bread is good. Still learning. Have resisted upping the dose to three/day but will also try that next."

For Diarrhea, Acute "Nurses love this stuff. You have a miserable patient with liquid stool and the doctor prescribes Imodium because it is OK according to the cause of the diarrhea. And with the first first 4 mg dose then 2 mg with every subsequent diarrhea stool the patient is relieved. Personally, I have direct experience with it myself. It really works, slows gastric motility down enough for your body to absorb the liquid it needs instead of pooping it out."

For Diarrhea, Chronic "I have IBS (both D & C). Lately mostly D. I've tried a few different medications and they wind up causing the constipation. Tonight I started Loperamide 2 mg capsules (prescription strength). I took the 2 that you're supposed to take first dose. So far it's been about 3 hours and I'm okay I think. I have a little stomach ache but not like cramping. Hopefully that's it for the D and this medication will be good for me."

For Diarrhea "Once in a while I eat something that brings on the trots. One pill usually does the trick. Like any other over the counter medicine, it's not something to become dependent on. Once I figure-out what food item did me in, I stop eating it."

Imotil (loperamide) for Diarrhea "It worked great but made my eyes very dilated so much so that I could not read. I started taking it after getting my C-diff from the antibiotics from a back stimulator being placed in my mid-back. Can't say enough good about it except the eye dilatation. "

A-D Anti-Diarrheal (loperamide) for Diarrhea, Chronic "I've been struggling with have chronic diarrhea for awhile now and got fed up with it. It's only awful in the mornings where I'd have to go to the bathroom 5+ times. With my morning classes and then student teaching I was so scared that I would have an accident. I started taking these (2 pills) the night before I have to get up early and haven't had a problem since!"

For Diarrhea "Long story slightly short have had IBS for few years now and almost constant feeling immediately fatigued and had palpitations after meals and required immediate to move bowels so began to take these and subsequently when my stress increased due to a motorcycle accident I started mebeverine alongside these and have completely removed spice intake from my diet including dairy. The loperamide I don't like to admit has saved me from ruination and constant visits seriously within RDA its perfect and has stopped my stomach from constant grumbling (painless cramps)"

Imodium (loperamide) for Diarrhea, Chronic "This product seems to take longer than it should to quell my symptoms. Since I am (REALLY) allergic to mint and since the caplets are mint-flavored I'm thinking that's the reason. Mint isn't the only flavoring that could be used."

Imodium (loperamide) for Diarrhea, Acute "I presumable caught the stomach bug going around my workplace, and had severe diarrhoea all day with stomach cramps, which started as soon as I woke up one morning. About 5.30pm I took an imodium, after a rough day and it stopped the diarrhoea completely. I was very pleased and shocked at how well it worked after just 2 tablets. Hopefully it wouldn't have lasted much longer anyway! Haha!"

For Diarrhea, Chronic "I came back to re-review. People are different. The box says to take no more than 16mg in 24 hours. 2mg was too much for me. Tonight, I took 1mg. I still have abdominal pain, but it's eased and I don't feel the need to go to the bathroom every hour or more. A+! I'm hurting myself going to the bathroom too often. I am also going to take simethicone for the gas. I do have unpassed gas that I can feel. Both drugs are sold in a pill combined at the store. I had no idea. But I need a low dose of loperamide and a high dose of simethicone for relief so taking them separately is for the best. I have felt the need to 'go' so with luck, I will not be constipated for 3 days and have normal bowel movements finally! I've changed my diet, celiac, lactose, meats, I've done it all! I eat white bread/rice and cheese or some kind of bean. Otherwise, I feel like I've been punched in the stomach."

For Diarrhea, Chronic "Sorry, I have left so many reviews. I did not say what side effects I am having. It does make me a little dizzy, sleepy. I am mixing it with Diazepam. It reduces my cramps from PTSD adrenaline. (My intestines are overactive) I've not felt nauseous. The worst part about it is, they make me so thirsty! I am drinking many liters of water a day. Still a dry mouth. Now, I run to go number 1. Which is much, much better than 2."

For Diarrhea, Chronic "I have spent the last year going to doctors. I had a contrast CT scan, a scope with biopsy. There is nothing physically wrong. I suffer from PTSD symptoms. The doctor said high adrenaline levels and little sleep are the issue. I cannot take bismuth or other drugs that coat your insides because I take diazepam. (That must be absorbed) Loperamide: I took 1 tablet (probably 2mg). It made things worse! I had the same bad cramps, but was constipated and could not use the toilet for 3 days. It did not help with the pain at all. It might have made it worse. Maybe I will try a lower dose. I've already had piles and a fissure. The cramps are nothing compared to a fissure. Which is what I am trying to avoid!"
