For ADHD "It works well, some of the reviews on here are just strange. One of them being someone was taking this for depression and they complained it didn't work? Well I wonder why their Doctor prescribed it to them as it is for ADHD and BED. But all in all, if you follow the regime correctly you're going to be fine."

For Binge Eating Disorder "I started taking Vyvanse about 4 months ago and I have never felt better in my whole life. I have no interest in food when I have it in my system for about 7 hours, but what I do to keep myself healthy and not having my blood sugars go high and low, is to eat breakfast and then have some fruit in the afternoon. Then I make myself a regular dinner. It is healthy, good food in portions. I don't eat out anymore, which is a big help, since that is where you eat too much food that is too high in fats and sodium. Eat a lot food with protein, so you fill up. As a dessert at night, I eat an ice pop, so I get that sweet taste. Not only have I lost 30 lbs. but, I feel healthier and energized. Also my depression is gone."

For Binge Eating Disorder "Been taking Vyvanse for almost 8 years. In the first few months to a year, I was the happiest I had been in years (always have had problems w depression since I was a kid), I lost 15lbs w/o effort & was in the best shape I had ever been in, I had an abundance of energy, out-did myself in regards to hw/goals/lifestyle etc. and after a very productive day I slept great every night...I felt great all day long... never have been so content. this has slowly changed... my medication worked less and less each year... I’ve been taking it almost 8 years now and my productivity has diminished greatly... I have gained back all my weight + some (the heaviest I’ve ever been), my desire to complete tasks has decreased (on a good day I feel productive for maybe 2-3 hours), my depression is worse than ever and I have bad anxiety, I binge eat and drink, and I hate myself. IDK why things have changed so much...maybe the medication isn’t the same as it was."

For ADHD "Vyvanse has been wonderful to me. Struggling with ADHD, mood swings, and anxiety has not. I am even diagnosed with narcolepsy. With this in mind, I now have the ability to make healthier choices without meds, but I still strongly recommend Vyvanse. AA (Al-Anon) has changed my life, and I don't drink much anymore. I'm thankful for this medicine as well as the lovely people in my life. I love Jesus too. ❤️"

For ADHD "A total life changer! I have become much happier and much more motivated in life. I have always had trouble paying attention, would drift off, daydream, get stuck in my head. My grades in high school weren't bad, but they definitely could have been better if I didn't procrastinate and be lazy all of the time and keep putting things off. Because of this, I suffered depression and lack of self esteem because I thought others were better or smarter than me. That being said, there is anxiety when the drug wears off and unfortunately, the effects of the drug itself don't last long for me, I'd say about 4 hours max. So I always have my days planned out in order to maximize my productivity. But I am in a much better place in my life now. 21 years old in CC planning to transfer soon and much more motivated and driven. One more thing. This medication is not for everyone. You may not have the experience with it that I or others did. Find which med works for you."

For ADHD "My 8-year-old son has been on this medication for 1 year and a half. He started at 20mg, now he is taking 40mg. I have noticed that it does not seem to work, and after trying for 9 months to get him off and on something else, I am going to take him to a different doctor. Given the fact that after 9 months it is still not working, another doctor would try something different, but his doctor just keeps upping the dosage. I have also noticed side effects that disturb. It worries me because my son is usually happy-go-lucky all the time, and with this medicine, he is VERY EASILY upset, not himself at all. SO PLEASE BE AWARE OF EVERYTHING YOUR CHILD DOES OR ACTS WHILE TAKING THIS MEDICATION."

For Binge Eating Disorder "I was bulimic for 5.5 years and after Vyvanse I was able to quit, I had a hard time eating healthy without constantly having cravings like crazy. I've taken Vyvanse since 2007 now, back then it was sold as ADHD drug only. My coworker used it and it curbed her appetite. So I got a prescription and it was a life changer!!! I still ate, but good food. It only curbed the bad cravings! As for side effects, dry mouth is really the only thing. I still need 2 alarms to wake up, when my doctor asked if I'd be able to sleep. No mood changes or anything else. Most mild drug other than what it's supposed to do! I love Vyvanse!"

For ADHD "Vyvanse made me feel like I had dementia; I kept forgetting words & could barely form sentences. I’m only 32, so it was frustrating & overwhelming to feel like I was losing all my brain cells. I am NOT an emotional person but I would start crying during work & normal situations, which was embarrassing. I felt socially awkward, withdrew into myself, became very passive & lost my confidence. I’d fall down the rabbit-hole online & accomplish little more than 12 hours of research on topics which have nothing to do with my life. I also became winded & dizzy every time I stood up, which may have also been due to my weight dropping from 100 to 86 lbs while I was on it. Lastly, my vision was absurdly blurry going from 20/20 to 20/60...that wasn’t listed as a side effect at the time, so I thought I was going blind until it subsided after stopping Vyvanse. Overall, I’d say it’s great for weight loss but horrible for mental cognition."

For ADHD "My wife has been on this for years. As a husband, I personally hate it. It make her not be herself.. When she comes off of it she comes very defensive and aggressive. While it works for focus it tunes out all else that matters in life. I call the drug a relationship killer. It runs her so her on speed during the day while on it. When she comes down on at night and weekends. Stay away...It has taken her to being a completely different person than I know and care about.."

For Binge Eating Disorder "I just turned 30 and had been struggling with binging for a few years. Over the last year it got totally out of control. Food consumed my life and I was easily going on 3-4,000 calorie binges every night. It was just my routine. Therapy, meditation, exercise, nothing could break the cycle. I heard about Vyvanse and talked to my doctor. Because of how rapidly I was gaining weight and how out of control I was, he happily prescribed it. Honestly it was hard at first - it made me feel sedated and tired, and I had headaches and dry mouth. But the binging was gone from day ONE. My dosage is leveled out now and my body has adjusted and I have lost 25 lbs in 6 weeks. It has changed my life for the better! I have no emotional connection to food now."

For Binge Eating Disorder "Vyvanse has had such a positive effect for me in regards to binge eating. My binge eating started over 28 years ago. In recent years, I was binging almost every day. Since starting Vyvanse 5 weeks ago, I have not binged one single time! I admit there were a few times that I overate, but I have not binged. It is such a relief to not have to battle with food thoughts, cravings, and compulsions! Food is no longer the first thing on my mind in the morning nor the last thing on my mind before I go to bed. I leave food on my plate. I eat a quarter to a third of what I ate before. When I grocery shop, the foods that used to call my name almost make me gaggy now. There's such freedom in not being in bondage to food. Continued in the next post..."

For ADHD "I was not officially diagnosed with ADD until I was 30 years old. I have been on Vyvanse for over 10 years now. I have had to increase my dose from 30 to 50 and have now been at 60 for over a year. Sometimes I feel it causes irritability, but other than that, only dry mouth. It has definitely helped with my attention disorder. It initially made me lose 10 lbs and then leveled out. I have always been athletic except when my chronic pain is too bad. My son has ADHD and took Concerta for about 2 years. It helped tremendously with his anger, outbursts, and grades. I only wish that my parents had me tested when I was younger as we did for my son. It would have taken away a lot of heartache! My daughter never suffered, thankfully."

For ADHD "33 y/o now taking 30mg at 5am. I have battled with depression for almost 10 years, taking Sertraline, and it's had a moderate effect on me with loads of off days and times where I couldn't leave bed. I have started taking Elvanse 30mg for nearly a week now, and after one hour of taking this drug, I could have burst out crying with complete joy. For the first time in nearly 20 years, I could think clearly and didn't overthink or ruminate over past trauma. I can think clearly, interact with people better, and generally feel happier. It's hard to explain how this feels, but instead of my mind being a complete washing machine, I can focus for 10 hours at work and feel zero stress. I highly recommend this drug as a means to feel what I would class as being normal, and I can't express just how this has changed my life in such a short space of time."

For ADHD "I suffered sexual abuse as a kid which led to my PTSD. On top of that, God gifted me with ADHD for entertainment purposes. I have been on Ritalin and Adderall for many years. Two years or so ago, I quit medications altogether because that's what ADHD people do for more entertainment. My job required that I go back on medication, and my MD recommended Vyvanse. I have been on it for 6 months and really like how it helps me concentrate, make me feel good without feeling high. I find that taking medication vacations really helps. I generally don't take it on my weekends. I am hoping that this will help fend off any addiction to the medication. I read a lot about people who say their meds don't work after a while. I know there were times when I felt that way, but I am not a good judge of myself. My wife and my bosses at work all told me I was doing well when I felt as if I were not. Try the weekend vacations and let others be the judge. I truly hope this medication is the miracle I need."

For ADHD "I have ADHD since I was very young. I've been on numerous different medications for it - Adderall XR, Concerta, Strattera, etc. Out of them all, Vyvanse has had the best results. Vyvanse helps me focus, get things done, act my age, and think before I act. I can focus on one thing at a time, rather than twenty things at once. One thing I have noticed about Vyvanse is that it treats my ADHD but doesn't take away from my personality. In other words, it doesn't make me feel like a zombie. I would definitely recommend Vyvanse to anyone with legitimate ADHD!"

For ADHD "Addressing the misinformed subscriber who proclaimed, " Vyvanse is SPEED! ", and that it's use led to his rapid addiction to speed. This is clinically not possible. Though there is an underlying component of amphetamine to this med, it is moreover a CNS ( Central Nervous System Stimulant ), as is stratera ( which contains a large percentage of norepinephrine in it and may help those battling depression as well as ADD) . Guess what else is classified as a CNS. - your morning coffee. We all recognize Folgers and Nescaffe as unregulated gateway drugs, so shouldn't we get excited about them as some of these ' users and their abuses of caffeine ' aside the evils of Vyvanse? Personal responsibility and accountability are key."

For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome "I have tried several medications for chronic fatigue syndrome and nothing seems to help more than an hour or two. Vyvanse is a wonderful medication for chronic daytime sleepiness and fatigue. I could not believe the amount of work I was able to get done. It does not make you feel 'drugged' like other medications do. I felt like my old self again, before the days of CFS."

For ADHD "I'm already a thin male. I'm normally 6'1 and about 145. Always been a really thin guy, "Bean pole" is what I get a lot or "dip stick" lol. Now it's gotten even worse with vyvanse. In about 3 weeks I've lost about 10 pounds. I'm currently 135lb and still dropping. I don't eat nearly enough and work really hard plus golf a lot in the heat. I don't necessarily feel sick I just have zero desire to ever eat. Eating seems like a task and a chore now rather then a treat and something I enjoy. It's the ONLY negative with this medication for me. I'm going to start a weight gain shake and begin counting calories to see if that helps me go back to my normal weight."

For Binge Eating Disorder "I've struggled with binge eating every since I was in middle school and I'm now 33. Nothing ever worked for me until Vyvanse. The biggest thing for me is that I no longer obsess over food. I would think about food all day long and all night until I managed to fall asleep. I never knew what hunger truly was because I always used food to control my emotions. Vyvanse controls the compulsions and obsessions I once had over food. An added plus is that I've lost 8 pounds in about 3 weeks since I've started taking it. I no longer binge and its the strangest yet most incredible feeling in the world. I would have rated this a 10 but I'm only 3 wks in so hopefully the effects are long lasting."

For ADHD "In England my mother took me to the doctor and being a nurse herself knew I had ADHD. The doctors wanted to put me on Ritalin but my mother said no, I would grow out of it eventually. In the US my attention from high school through college became worse, and I got into a lot of trouble. My grades were horrible in high school through college, even work. I had to take classes two to three times over again. The only way I would remember daily things was to write it down. Now at 41, I got help, and I am able to focus, complete tasks, remember without asking ten times, and sit still. It's never too late for help. Just wish I would of done this 35 years ago. My anger has subsided also with no side effects."

For ADHD "Let me just say. Life without Vyvanse for the last six months has been a complete and utter hell. I decided to get off my medication stupidity and have suffered endlessly. Without Vyvanse, I am always anxious, starving all of the time which causes anxiety, can't get to class on time or don't show up at all, have no motivation, headaches and nausea, gained weight, my boyfriend broke up with me because I turned into a legit socially incompetent vegetable, wasn't able to drive to see my family, and overall was scared to get out and do anything. Without ADHD medication like Vyvanse, I wasn't living.. afraid to do anything. HUGE MISTAKE. This medication is life-changing. When I was on it, I was amazing. I kicked ass in college with honors, wasn't anxious about eating, went from 170 lbs to 139 lbs, more productive, happy, and not anxious about driving, classes, going out to eat or going to the grocery store. Anyways, I am getting back on these meds because I miss living. So should you! Take a low dose!"

For ADHD "Taken Vyvanse for ADHD for 4 years- amazing! 30mg at 5am and 30mg at 2pm on my 12hour shift, never on weekends. I am a 35yr old otherwise healthy female. Initial weight loss from 140 to 130 but stopped there. Never tired, clear thinking. I have to do remember to drink water because my job involves a lot of talking and dry mouth is huge and sometimes sweating (learned to wear tee shirts and dress lighter). Recently decided to take time off because I wonder about long term effects but I think after four years I’ve lost many of the natural strategies I developed and was much more all over the place than I remember in university... very frustrating so I started again. I will always take med breaks though because I don’t want to develop tolerance- also love my many qualities of having ADHD. I’ve read a lot of comments about pains, aches, and emotions- not experienced this in four years... everyone is so different and what works for some just don’t for others."

For Depression "I’ve been taking Vyvanse for treatment-resistant depression for almost a year now. I don’t have ADHD btw. I’ve been on a dozen antidepressants and Vyvanse has outshone them all. I do still take an antidepressant for my anxiety, but my depression is insufficiently treated without the Vyvanse. I haven’t built up a tolerance either. Every aspect of my life is so much better with this med- even my social anxiety and sleep somehow. This was definitely the missing piece. Before the Vyvanse I hardly had the energy to send a text message. Now I work out in the mornings! I only take 20 mg but the difference is night and day. Be sure to use the savings card on the manufacturer’s website even if you have insurance. It can get a little pricey."
