Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Urticaria "Xyzal is horrible. I’ve spent the last 4 years of my life suffering due to side effects of antihistamines. These drugs are all the same thing. They make you feel annoyed, depressed, anxious, exhausted, dizzy, and just like absolute garbage! I thought xyzal, being the “newer and better” drug it was marketed to be, would be the miracle to save my life. However, it wasn’t. This drug is just as bad as the rest, possibly even worse. Also, keep in mind that xyzal is no different than Zyrtec. It’s literally just the left half of Zyrtec, the part of it that actually works. It’s the same drug. If Zyrtec sucks for you, xyzal will too. Honestly I’m gonna go back to claritin. It doesn’t stop my hives completely but I am at least not a psychotic depressed maniac on it."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "Absolutely horrible, unless you like feeling dopey, drugged & hungover for 3 days after a single dose! It did help my allergies but the side effects are much too pronounced & severe to warrant ever taking it again. I'd rather suffer!"

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Urticaria "I developed Hives after gallbladder surgery. Benedryl worked on the surface for about 8 months. Then I went to an allergist and she had me stop all meds for allergies. That night I thought I was going to die. Lips were swollen eyes were and I didn't sleep. The next morning was back at the dr. and was nebulized in the office for 4 hours. She prescribed Zyzal 10 mg at night, and Singulair in the morning as needed. Worked wonderfully. I can played around with dosage taking at night. I can go 1 night without it and I have to take it the next night. 72 hours with out a dosage and I will have a breakout start. Told the Dr. that I will take this the rest of my life, and I don't mind."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "My seasonal allergies just started this week due to high pollen count. I was very hopeful for the 24 hr relieve promised by Xyzal, especially because it is taken in the evening, I thought the main "drowsy" effect would be limited to the night time. I was wrong! I woke up feeling terrible, could barely wake up and had to drag through a fog all day at work. Not for me unfortunately! I guess back to non-drowsy claritin."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergic Rhinitis "I was sick with sinus and ear problems for 6 weeks. I had been treated with Keflex, Zithromax, Levaquin, Allegra, Claritin and Veramyst. Some of these even made my symptoms worse. I took my first Xyxal and two hours later my sinus drainage was fine. In eight hours the sinus headache and eye redness was gone. By the end of my second day on Xyzal, I noticed my ear canals and skin no longer itched. I had no idea this was a condition caused by allergies. I thought I had dry skin. I still have some "stuffed up" sinus issues on my fourth day but I can taste food, inhale and exhale freely through my nose and feel pretty "normal". IT WORKS!"

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "Extremely effective. I have had horrible allergies for years, and this was the only thing that worked for me. Make sure you take it an hour or so before you go to bed though, the drowsiness side effect is huge if you don't. After my allergies were under control, I was able to switch to half a pill and that helped with the morning grogginess a lot. But it gave me my health back, so I'm grateful!"

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "Not only do I have allergies, but I also have asthma and chronic sinusitus, along with occasional nasal polyps. In addition, I have had a chronic cough for three years, which doctors could not, or would not, help me with. They had no answers. I took XYZAL, and lo and behold, the chronic cough has been drastically reduced! I hope it lasts; I've become reluctant to go shopping or even to church b/c of the persistent cough. I know it's not for a cough, but it has certainly helped mine!! This remedy is now OTC so I won't have to plead my case to the doctor."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "Xyzal has helped keep the chronic sinus infections away while on a biologic for an autoimmune disorder! That's a miracle! I love xyzal. Some days I get sleepy so I take it @ night. Now if I can just get the autoimmune symptoms to go away id be kicking booty! Love xyzal for allergies!"

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "I'm allergic to things that are both inside and outside on this planet. As far as I know, the only habitable planet that I have no choice but to stay on. My doc recommended Xyzal, I bought it the same day, then read the reviews. I wouldn't take it for 3 wks after. Out of desperation and suffering I started 5 days ago. I've slept for approx 18 hours of each day. (I work 12 hour days so you can assume that I slept quite a bit at work.) When my alarm goes off I start saying, "You can do this! Get up Shelby! Omg, whhyyyy? Help!" After I wake I wander around muttering, "Why am I so tired? Something is wrong, I must be dying." Not only am I sedated at all times, sleeping on floors and in my car, but I took my children to the park today & fell asleep on the picnic blanket for 2 hours. They could have been kidnapped. "

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "I took one pill at night. I slept all night and all the next day. Do not recommend. I slept all day so don't even know if it worked for allergies. Nowhere on the package did I see warning about sleep problem and no additional instructions in the box. Stuck with expensive product that I cannot use. In my mind drowsiness is not the same as being sound asleep for over 24 hours."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "I have a cat and a dog in the house so my nose runs all year long. I had taken Benedryl daily until the doctor told me to take it twice a day cause my body had gotten too used to it. I then tried Claritin and Allegra, neither worked for me at all. I then switched to Zyrtec and that was pretty great. I still had a runny nose but not as bad. When Xyzal came out I had to try it since I had a crack in my nose for about 6 months from a runny nose. Within 1 week of taking Xyzal the crack had healed and my nose wasn't runny. This is a miracle drug for me. I believe that each body is different and you need to take the drug that works for you. I take this during the day as it wore off when I came home from work to be with my animals."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "Tried Xyzal for the first time last week. I noticed I was a little groggy, which I've come to expect from most antihistamines. After taking it for 4 days, I have become an absolute mess. Very irritable, moody, crying and angry. Just generally feel like I'm losing my mind. My 5yo daughter had the same reaction. AND it didn't even help with the sneezing, runny nose or watery eyes. In fact, its given me a headache on top of making me feel insane along with all the allergy symptoms. Back to claritin for us."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "My allergies are the worst in the morning and this medication directs it be taken at night. I've tried that several times and it is no help whatsoever. Just before writing this I had to take Benedryl even though I took this medication last night. Very disappointed in this product! The couple of times my allergies kicked up at night and I took it this product did not help at all. That said everyone is different and I guess if you want to try it and see if it works for you go ahead. But if your allergies are bad in the morning it will not help at all."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergic Rhinitis "Really developed horrible allergies in last four years because of being over 40 living in terrible city for allergies. It really has been a game changer for me. It's strong enough that I often just use half a pill. I do think it's better than the OTC competition. No side effects for me."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Kept me up, maniacally freaking out, until 4 am. Followed by extreme nightmares and tossing and turning. My head felt like it was going to explode. I literally almost went to the hospital. Terrifying. "

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "I started taking Xyzal after a single episode of urticaria. I have had hands tremors for 40 years, severe enough to interfere with my work as a nurse. After 2 days, I noticed that the tremors were gone. To verify it was linked to the medication, I stopped taking it, and after 2 days, my left hand started shaking again, so I restarted it. It's been 3 weeks, and I am still free of any tremors."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "I feel absolutely horrible. I ran out of Zyrtec, my son takes this so I figured I'd try it. On day two I feel a combination of having a concussion and a hangover all at one time. I'm fatigued, dizzy, and have a headache. This does not include the pressure I feel in my sinuses. I feel absolutely horrible. I'm done, I won't take this again. I'm honestly not even sure the FDA should have approved this drug."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Urticaria "I suffered for a year with Uticaria. I tried steriods and several other allergy medications. To no avail. Finally after seeing many Doctors, one gave me Xyzal to try. The first day I took it I had almost immeadiate relief. My hives, swelling of joints and what I called "attacks" (could not stop sneezing, feeling my throat close and face start to swell up) all but disappeared. I have been taking Xyzal daily for almost 2 years and have experienced no side effects whatsoever. It gave me my life back."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Urticaria "I have had Severe Chronic Hives for a little over a year. So many Allergists/Immunologists gave me everything including XYZAL (but once a day combined with other medicines) did very little to help. A Dermatologist said to stop all other and take XYZAL in morning and night and now my Hives are 95% cleared. I'm am at a point were I feel the hives are manageable and I can work without the heavy AntiHistimines that make me so Groggy."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "I took this pill at bedtime twice and it kept me awake until after 2:00 a.m. I woke up with worst symptoms than I had before I took the pills When I woke up I was stuffed up and I stayed that way all day long. I also had lots of coughing - unlike my normal cough that is due to post nasal drip. I also have a bad sore throat. On both Saturday and today I have tiredness and I am unable to function. I will go back to my normal medicine in the morning. These pills were a waste of money."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "THE REVIEWS ARE TRUE!!! I normally take 12 hour Allegra-D (as needed). When I took this I immediately felt worse, nose wouldn't stop running, got very hot (red), coughing almost like it make it worse. I felt it kick in & got extremely heavy. My nose felt like I was in the bottom of a pool, swollen, my eyes were puffy, vision impaired, had horrible nightmares, barely woke up when my alarm went off, felt worse than when I went to bed!!! Fatigued all day, bloated, headaches, swollen nose & MASSIVE sinus pressure when I looked down at work, felt like my senses were numb & I wasn't human. Everything everyone listed negative is true. I will NEVER take it again & I'm shocked it still available OTC & do NOT waste your money, it's total FRAUD."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergies "This was recommended to me by a friend who has great success with it. I took just 2 pills. One Wednesday night and one Thursday night before bed. Within 20 minutes of taking Xyzal, my skin got beat red and I developed a fever! The first night I slept weird but I slept. My cough is about gone and just a little congested. The pill works for that. The 2nd night I slept right through the alarm until 11 am! Needless to say, I missed work. Now I am left with side effects of bloody diarrhea, hives, fever, lightheaded to about passing out. I did not take a 3rd dose last night and hoping the rest passes out of my body quickly. I do not recommend."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergic Rhinitis "I'm 90% allergic to dogs and 95% allergic to cats. Guess what? I have a cat and a dog... the dog sheds more than the cat, but if the cat scratches me I break out into hives/welt. If a dog hair gets on my face, especially around my eyes... I get symptoms of pink eye. My eyes get red, itchy and swollen. That being said nothing but XYZAL has worked for me. I take this at night about 1 hour before bedtime."

Xyzal (levocetirizine) for Allergic Rhinitis "I have been taking Xyzal for nearly 1 year now and it truly has been my life saver. I suffer from extreme seasonal allergies and indoor allergies with all the symptoms; itchy red eyes, itchy ears and feet, sneezing 5 times an hour, congested sinuses, headaches, congestion, hives, and frequent bloody noses. I tried over-the-counter and prescription drugs for nearly 10 years with no success. Xyzal has honestly relieved all my symptoms. I take my dose before bed because it does make me sleepy. I have no problems making it through my work day. I do have a little bit of a dry throat side effect, but that is nothing compared to the misery I was in before."
