For Erosive Esophagitis "I have been taking Lansoprazole 30mg twice a day for a little over a year ago getting great relief for my erosive esphagitis and GERD. My pharmacists switched to this manufacturer and did not work as well as the other manufacturer. Therefore, I am taking this plus filling in with Pepcid at least once a day. Am now looking for another pharmacy so I can go back to the other manufacturer product. Very disappointing."

For Erosive Esophagitis "Simply I had severe stomach pain often unbearable, I was always tired, due to my fear of doctors did not seek medical help for approximately a year. Went to see doc she gave me these capsules and I have my life back no more pain and full of energy, I'm me again, would recommend to anyone."

For GERD "I might as well be taking a placebo, as this medicine does absolutely nothing for me. I still have heartburn and burny esophagus. Sodium bicarb in a little water does way more to help relieve these symptoms. Much cheaper and healthier (no harmful drugs and chemicals, and no side effects either)."

For GERD "Okay about 3 years back I had taken Lansoloc, around 5pm when I just finished work. By 18:30pm I started to itch all over, broke up with hives and my voice went soft, I was like whispering and talking, heart was racing! Had to to go to the ER. I couldn't figure what caused the allergic reaction. As I did have something to eat just before the attack! And I had taken Lansoloc several times before. Then one day again when I took Lansoloc I had a similar experience, then I realized that I'm allergic to Lansoloc. Just last week I took a capsule for GERD called Adco Roznal and once again I ended up in the ER, started to wheeze, my BP went up, itching uncontrollably, had an anaphylaxis attack, was so scary! Why am I allergic to these capsules, when I used to be fine taking them? Now it no longer agrees to me."

For GERD "My daughter suffers from severe GERD and is 4 years old. Recently our insurance has her 15 mg solutabs (2x a day) running us $680/month. Specialist told us to try the OTC previcid. After 2 weeks my daughter suffered shortness of breath, bellyache and Cronic hiccups. Put her back on solutabs, symptoms gone. Tried this OTC approach twice and sure enough it is not effective for our daughters GERD compared to previcid solutabs that cost $680. My son is now on them as well so total we spend $1020 a month on previcid solutabs."

For Barrett's Esophagus "It stopped my feeling of acid reflux by the 3rd day. I have now been taking it for 1 month. It has changed my life, truly amazing drug. I have another month's supply to take. I just hope I will be able to get another prescription to continue."

For GERD "In 2020, I was prescribed Prevacid Fastab 30 mg after experiencing appetite loss and mild epigastric burning. These symptoms occurred daily, usually around 2-3 hours after eating, along with daily burping episodes since 2013. I just tolerated the burping as it didn't greatly affect my life, and it varied in frequency. Antacids (Tums) helped to relieve it. I had a gastroscopy and colonoscopy, with the gastroscopy showing no issues. I was diagnosed with diverticulosis and a stricture in the bowel. I was advised to increase my fiber intake, which I did. I was prescribed Prevacid Fastab 30 mg for 8 weeks, which cured everything. I returned to normal within 36 hours. I was then told to stop taking it regularly and only use it as needed. If I have a rough spell of heartburn (without regurgitation) and burping, I still take Prevacid, although I do have some concern that it may not always work as effectively as it used to. Most days, I rely on Tums. Additionally, I raised my mattress 6 inches, which has been helpful."

For NSAID-Induced Gastric Ulcer "Absolutely shocking drug. Been on it for 3 years due to long term use of ibuprofen for back spasms. Kept having bouts of diarrhea, then bad constipation, felt nauseous all the time, fatigued like I could just drop to sleep on the spot. Over the last few months it has been building up in my system to severe constipation where I was that bloated I couldn't even let gas out, that nauseous and vomiting that I lost weight and that fatigued it was becoming difficult to remember who I was. 5 visits to A&E with a fully dilated pupil that would not shrink and no Dr there told me it could be a side effect of lanzop. My Mum and myself have ended up working out this tablet has caused everything and was probably causing the same thing to my late Grandad as he was put on this cheaper version from one that was working for him. Diabolical. I am now alert, eyes wide open, feeling like I was to eat, eating full plates of food, and bowels are back to how they used to be! Avoid this drug at all costs!"

For Erosive Esophagitis "I’ve been on Pepcid for like 20 years. It has always worked perfectly for my severe acid reflux disease. However, recently the previous black/pink capsules have been changed to white/blue ones. Could care less about the color, but these do not work for me. A few times a week, I have to take over the counter acid reducers or take another lansoprazole."

For GERD "Well, there are pros and cons. The good: 1. Very effective for stopping the reflux 2. Fine for short term use 3. No problem with the evening dose 4. Short term use, few side effects 5. I'm less allergic to it than Omeprazole Cons (for me, your mileage may vary): 1. Stomach pain kicked in late and doesn't go away 2. Extreme sudden fatigue with mild exertion 3. Morning nausea, worse if I stop the tablets though 4. Sweating 5. Awful dry mouth, can't drive any distance without stopping to drink We all have different experiences with these sort of drugs. While there are very unpleasant side effects, there are great benefits. Acid reflux is worse than taking the tablets, there is no doubt about that for me. Some of us just don't react well to PPIs, I'm at peace with it. It't not the tablets fault"

For GERD "I was feeling sick randomly it would come on and then go again, no real reason, patterns or dietary issues that I could find. I lived with it for about 2 months, then it started affecting my ability to actually enjoy myself for fear of constantly feeling sick. It got worse as I started with heavy mucus like throat, it was strange how the symptoms changed overnight but they did seem to. My GP got me onto these tablets and within 6 hours I felt absolutely incredible, all of the ill feelings I'd had just vanished away. Don't get me wrong, they return occasionally - but this drug really puts them at bay. The only complaint I have is they cause really powerful headaches for me, paracetamol doesn't seem to touch the pain either. It's a trade off I can live with though to be honest."

Prevacid 24HR (lansoprazole) for GERD "I have to give this some credit because it did wonders for preventing my reflux. BUT, the third night I was on it, I experienced some of the worst insomnia I've ever had - and I have chronic insomnia anyway - as well as cramping in my legs and an inability to keep still. The doc recommended I discontinue use so I did. These are supposedly rare side effects but apparently I'm that rare case. oh well."

For Erosive Esophagitis "It's kind of alright. It was more effective when I first started taking it. It still works alright for me throughout the day. I take it for acid reflux. Acid reflux goes away quicker if I lay down on my left side. It's not a huge problem. Just that it could affect me in public if it starts not working properly. I think I might need to start taking two though. As it isn't as effective on me as it used to be. Just glad I can still live my life without it affecting me."

For GERD "I started on 30mg of Lansoprazole for 4 weeks; it worked very well, no more acid reflux and I could eat everything. Two days after coming off these pills my condition became 10 times worse. I started choking at night because my throat was producing foam to protect itself from acid. I could not eat anything without getting severe burning at the centre of my chest. I lost 2 stones in weight. I was put on 60 mg of it and Ranitidine before bed and Amitriptyline. It took 7 months to gradually reduce to 30 mg a day. However I started getting foaming problems again. I have had to go back to 60 mg daily. The foaming has not gone away after 6 weeks. I just cannot see an end to this cycle. I would suggest if you ever go on these drugs, you take your time coming off them. Taking 15mg less every month."

For Barrett's Esophagus "I've used omeprazole 80mg daily which then stopped working, famotidine made my skin burn up after several weeks, pantoprazole bad skin reaction within first hour, then esomeprazole 40mg which gave me a bad dry mouth and messed around with my head. Taking 60mg of lansoprazole works the best for me out of all of them. Least amount of side effects and works the best. Been on it for almost 2 years now! Medicine starting to work less nowadays, just need operation on stomach. There is only so much this medicine can help you with. I do exercise with this medicine and my acid reflux is bad. I stop doing exercise and on this medicine I get better. So people need to understand this medicine can only help you so much with GERD etc. This medicine is keeping me alive at the moment. Sad but true."

Prevacid (lansoprazole) for GERD "This medication worked great for me for a very long time, with the only downside being that the dose had to be increased every few years. I’ll preface this by saying I am a survivor of childhood cancer and I was first put on prevacid during chemotherapy at age 8. I took the FasTabs because I can’t swallow pills and I will say, by a landslide, it’s the best tasting medication I’ve ever been prescribed. Incredibly easy to use. Zero side effects for me. Only downside was insurance wouldn’t cover the FasTab and capsules didn’t work for me. Truly a great medicine that I was on up until three weeks ago. I took the highest dose (30mg twice a day) for I want to say the last 5-ish years, but after I experienced a severe allergic reaction to another medication, the prevacid suddenly stopped working. I’m currently in the process of trying to find another medication or a permanent fix for my reflux, and I miss prevacid."

For Hiatal Hernia "Have been using Lansoprazole 30mg for between 2 to 3 years. 1 each morning. If skipped, acid reflux would start towards evening. No side effects. 100% satisfied. Something to do with stock unavailable so I have now been prescribed Pantoprazole 20mg. Hope that works as well as Lansoprazole."
