Remicade (infliximab) "I started remicade in 2010 and stopped remicade in 2016, almost seven years it worked absolute wonders for me. Amazing for my Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), my arthritis started when I was a baby and I am now 25 year old female. Within the first year I developed psoriasis, who cares right? I can walk, I can actually bend my knees, zero pain. I started doing UVB light therapy and my psoriasis has not been back. 2016 I developed what I first thought was heat rash. Turned out after months and months of pain, swelling, terrible rash all over my legs that I had developed hypersensitivity leukocytoclastic vasculitis. A listed rare, severe side effect which immediately had my doctor taking me off of remicade. Giving remicade a 5 because it worked for me but couldn't continue."

Avsola (infliximab) "I was diagnosed with Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis after about two years. I started the Avsola infusions after Methotrexate had no effect, and within a few days, there was a huge reduction in swelling and pain. I am still in the initial phasing-in period, having had only two infusions. After the first infusion, the pain and swelling started coming back a few days before the next infusion. A second infusion and the swelling and pain were gone. My next infusion is only 2 days away, and I am starting to notice only very minimal pain/swelling. The doctor says that should end once I've been on infusions for at least 3 months. The infusions are painless and much more convenient than giving myself shots every two weeks. I take a book to read and actually enjoy the quiet, relaxing time. I am on Medicare, and other medications have put me in the donut hole. I could not afford the cost of any of them, but the infusions are covered by Medicare Part B."

Remicade (infliximab) "Initially, it worked great. When the doses were administered close together, I rarely had a flare, and when I did they were very mild. As the time between infusions was increased, I began to have more frequent and severe flares. My Rheumatologist and I are currently working to adjust the dosing schedule."

Remicade (infliximab) "I've been on Remicade a long time. Spanning 19 years, but with one year of Humira due to a coverage problem and one awful year trying Xeljanz at the urging of my now-former MD. I was happy to return to Remicade. It's not perfect, but it keeps me controlled most of the time."

Remicade (infliximab) "I’ve had RA since 1981 with no relief from any of the drugs on the market at that time, e.g. gold injections, Plaquenil, Penicilamine, all NSAIDS, high dose methotrexate, prednisone etc. In 2001, I started Remicade with low dose methotrexate. It has changed my life. Within the first 4 doses, my fatigue disappeared. I have had no new joints involved for the past 20 years. I’ve had no side effects from Remicade. The only thing the medication hasn’t done is repair the damaged joints! That’s taken surgeries and joint replacements. I am very grateful for the benefits from Remicade."

Remicade (infliximab) "The infusion helped my hands and I had ZERO pain after a week from the infusion. I am having right ovary pain since then. I have never had that or trouble with that in my life. It is sharp and comes out of nowhere and lasts a while then goes away. I had a reaction to the infusion, phlebitis, and had to discontinue it. I was hoping for this to work with no reaction because I saw the benefits from it after 2 days"

Renflexis (infliximab) "I have experienced reduced pain in joints and less inflammation for a year. I realize that changing my diet is also part of maintenance. Serious anti-inflammatory dieting due to being obese. I know that my weight contributes to RA flare-ups. I am constantly tired and it takes some exercise to get going every day. Mostly Yoga since it is hot outside. I receive infusions that are easy to handle."

Remicade (infliximab) "Please be careful taking this drug. Read all the side effects. My husband was on Remicade injections for about several months when he started rambling his words. I immediately called 911 and he was rushed to the hospital where they said he had a seizure. He stayed overnight and then was released, several weeks later he had another seizure at home. Rushed to the hospital where they said he had pneumonia. Sadly, he never returned home from the hospital. All within about 8 weeks of starting this drug. If we had known about the side effects, I would have insisted he not take the injections. Please please consider other options."

"Diagnosed in August 1998 of Rheumatoid Arthritis, almost got disabled with pain everyday, tried Arava, Humira, Enbrel, and on prednisone for a year (the only miracle medicine for me) until my rheumatologist prescribed Remicade and methotrexate. It made a big difference in my life. It is a very expensive treatment but put me in remission. I'm still on it as a prophylaxis just in case I will have flare ups."

"I have been taking Plaquenil for 6 years and then 2 years ago added Methotrexate to the regime. 4 months ago the Dr. added Remicade infusion treatments. After the 1st treatment, the pain in my wrist went away but the swelling remained. I was thrilled. But by the 2nd treatment 2 weeks later, some of the pain came back. 4 weeks later, I received another treatment. I began to have severe muscle pain in my legs and feet along with joint pain throughout my body. I don't know if it was my RA or my Fibromyalgia that flared. The muscle pain subsided some as well as the joint pain. However, when I took my last treatment 8 weeks later, the muscle pain and joint pain returned. It has been 4 weeks since the last infusion and I am still experiencing sporadic muscle pain and continued joint pain. Prior to starting Remicade, I was not having severe muscle pain nor as much joint pain. I don't want to further this treatment and will be talking with my doctor for alternatives."

Remicade (infliximab) "I had two infusions of Remicade. During my second infusion my blood pressure doubled after 15 minutes. It was 250/110 and normal when I arrived. Scary, my rheumatologist sent me to ER for EKG and it came back fine."
