"Started on the Tri-Sprintec pill to treat my endometriosis. I need to stop having my period. In order for my endometriosis to stop growing and stretching out to my other organs. I just finished LUPRON which was not that great and now I'm on the pill and haven't stopped bleeding. 10 days and still with a heavy flow ... in so much pain right now"

"Third month of Tri Sprintec for heavy periods and I have not had very much side effects other than a bit of breast tenderness that went away after a month, My periods have gotten significantly better and I have been complimented on my skin after years and years of acne (I’m 39) it’s been kinda nice to compliments on my skin. Everyone is different and don’t let another’s experience keep you from trying something new, you never know if it’s going to be right for you."

"I was 17 when I started on this pill because I had cysts on my ovaries. This pill is a good pill and not a bad one like a lot of the women are saying. This pill has the same side effects as all the other pills do. Yes, I gained weight at first, but now I am back to my normal size because my body regulated it. The leaflets say you may not feel well the first 1-3 packs. It's because your body has to regulate it! "

"It's effective in the sense that it has done it's job well, it prevented pregnancy but I absolutely hate it. I switched over from Try Cyclen due to it's cost but honestly, I'm planning on switching back. Severe cramps, headaches, and mood swings galore. The worst part of it all? I have been in my period for THREE WEEKS. It's ridiculous, I've never had issues with any other birth control. My regular period usually lasted 4 days maximum, compare that to constant bleeding for almost a month now. No thanks. Do not recommend this for anyone."

"So I started taking these pills 2 weeks ago I took it on a Tuesday a week before my original period would come. I noticed I was getting horrible headaches but I brushed it off because my period had came June 23rd so I thought that was the reason to the headaches. But today is June 30th and I’m still bleeding heavily and cramping like bad. My period was normal before taking these pills it would last 4 days and cramps the first 2 days but that’s it. I think these pills causes those horrible headaches and this prolong bleeding I’m seriously soaking through my pads still after 8 full days I honestly believe it’s the pills which I’m not gonna take anymore. I would not take this medication try another birth control brand."

"I just finished my three packs. HORRIBLE to say the least, but does its job of avoiding pregnancy. If I don't eat before taking the pill I'm nauseous and vomiting for the next three days. The first month my period was on time and regular. The second month I had two periods and would bleed after sex. And this third month has been pretty much continuous bleeding to the point I don't have sex with my boy friend at all. My periods used to be pretty light and last 4-5 days. Now they're extremely light to the point I hardly have to use a panty liner and I mostly bleed when I use the bathroom but it's all day every day.I'm also moody and cranky and tired all the time. I'm so done with this birth control and am changing. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE."

"This is the best birth control I've been on. No weight gain at all. And it doesn't make it hard to lose weight. My boobs have gotten bigger. My skin is so clear I get compliments on it ( i used to have bad acne). And most importantly, no babies. I have sex with my SO without condoms so I know it works. I know exactly when my period will come every month. That's a relief because I used to get my period anywhere from every 2-9 months apart. Only side effects is occasional nausea on the first week of each pack. And random headaches but that's not often."

"I was on Ortho tri Cyclen Lo for the past 6 years, I had only went up a cup size and that was perfectly fine. I never had a problem with it, and thankfully never got pregnant. But due to the stupid Obamacare changes, the insurance forced my Dr. to give me Tri-Sprintec. I've only been taking it for the past 2 months and IT HAS BEEN HELL! I have gained 20 lbs in the first 2 months! I went from being a 34DD to a 36DDD and I count calories and I am an avid gym goer! I'm already near 30 and losing weight is especially hard when your at or past 30! And along with that I ended up having a low libido, ridiculous amounts of fatigue(like wanting to fall asleep standing up) vaginal dryness, constant calf muscle cramps, depressive moods. Do not take!"

"I began taking this for my period, which was really heavy and came with terrible cramps. While I was on it, I experienced terrible cramps. I have genetically good skin, but this medication gave me the worst acne of my life. It was embarrassing, not to mention painful. It also made me incredibly depressed, and I’d find myself cancelling plans with some of my favorite people to stay home and cry. I have decided to go off of it, and I am very excited to get back to normal. Based on other reviews I have read, many women have gone through similar experiences to mine."

"I'm 16, almost 17 and I went on this because I had really heavy periods with bad cramps and would pass out regularly. I've been on this for a little over two weeks and my period hasn't stopped. It was heavy for the first four days and then it became really light. For the last week it's almost like spotting, which has never happened to me before. My breasts hurt really bad. I'm not sure if I've gained or lost weight, because I started dieting right before I went on the pill. So far, I hate the pill, but it's only been a month. I'm hoping the next months will be better than this one."

"I'm 21 and got on tri- sprintec due to not having a period and PCOS. First day taking it just felt mild nausea. Second day I had body aches (as if I have a cold), weakness, bad nausea (but never threw up), headaches, and was not myself. Called to see if I can try a different birth control. The nurse just told me to stop taking it."

"I was prescribed Tri Sprintec because I was having extremely long periods that lasted up to a month. It stopped my period immediately and I only had abnormal bleeding outside of the placebo week during the first month that I used it. However, I really don't believe that it's worth the side effects. I started getting acne when my skin has always been very clear. My skin has become incredibly sensitive to new products (and even some products that I've used for over a year with no issue). My periods have become regular, but I now get intense cramping during the whole week. Worst of all, though, is that I have become severely emotionally unstable. In between the depression spells and intense anger, I become manic. I am a teenager and I've gotten mood swings before, but never like this. It's almost unbearable. I plan on talking to my doctor soon so that I can find a different pill that works better for my needs."

"In the beginning it worked fine, I was switched to it because Ortho Tri-cyclen was getting costly and some of the other genetics were making me constipated. . .joy. Anyways I have been on Tri-Sprintec for almost a year and it doesn't regulate my periods in fact I seem to be getting periods whenever the heck it please and they last forever. My normal cycle is 3 days and I always knew by Thursday of the sugar pills it was coming but this pill just doesn't seem to be working. On top of that I'm always nauseated, sometimes I get extremely depressed for no reason. I have panic attacks and just feel horrible at the most random times. I can't wait to switch."

"So my gyno put me on this birth control pill for my irregular periods. I’m about to start month 3 & I’m impressed! At 1st I was VERY scared to try the pill because of the negative reviews but I gave it shot & monitored my lifestyle closely. My 1st 3 weeks on the pill weren’t terrible but I did experience a couple negative but minor side effects. I had a couple nights were I felt nauseous after taking the pill & on a few occasions a headache but nothing I couldn’t handle. I noticed I had some weight gain in my waist line so I watched my food intake & upped my work outs slightly & that took care of it. I’ve stayed at 133 lbs. I’m at month 3 & everything is totally normal! No depression, no insomnia & no weight gain (thank goodness) & it’s cleared up my face! I personally love this pill but I 100% agree that every woman may have different reactions. Also, it’s SO affordable & that’s a big plus because I don’t have insurance."

"I started taking these after being hospitalized and given blood transfusions and iron. They recommended this and said it would help me. The first two weeks it did help a little. The third week is when everything started to change. I realized I had no energy to get out of bed. Simple things like brushing my teeth or taking a shower felt like the hardest things to do. I didn't want anyone to talk to me. I lost interest in my favorite tv shows and other things I always used to enjoy. My hair started falling out and I was always nauseous. I wouldn't eat ANYTHING! I started having heart palpitations and walking from one room to the next made me fatigued and dizzy. My body began to shut down. I do not recommend!!!"

"I have had irregular periods but recently in May, I had a period for about 3 weeks and I was tired of it. So I went to the doctor and was told Tri-Sprintec would help, I started taking it the beginning of June and have been on it for almost a month now. With no luck, I’m still bleeding constantly. I continued the pill to see if the bleeding would eventually stop but unfortunately it hasn’t. During the first week I received loss of appetite, extreme anxiety, night sweats, depression and nausea, and the side effects still occur. I’m going to finish the pack bc hopefully I’ll receive some luck but I do not plan to continue this pill after this first pack."

"My daughter is 16 and was put on this medicine for horrible painful periods and her acne 3 months ago. Acne is clearing up, cramps are not so bad and she's able to stay at school BUT the 1st week of the pack on the 1st pack and 3rd pack, she throws up nonstop all day all week an has upper stomach pain all the time now. She had 2 pills from 1st pack when all this started and dr took her off to see if it was pill. It continued so Dr said it wasnt pill. Now 3 months later it's still going on. Dr has taken blood test, sent her for gallbladder ultrasound, ER did blood test, sent to a gastroentologist and now today had an upper GI and all of these things are normal. She is pitiful and I'm sick of seeing her like this. Anyone else had this issue?"

"I have been taking this for about 5 months and was previously on Trinessa for about 2 years with no complaints. I have started noticing that I am very moody and irritable almost daily and have zero motivation to do anything like going to the gym, go out with friends or anything. I have also noticed about a week or 2 before my period I binge eat anything and everything as if I haven’t eaten in days. And then to top it off I have zero sex drive now. I just do not have any Interest in having sex and it’s just not something I enjoy anymore. I had the best sex life with my boyfriend and it’s just gone now. I’m on my last pills now and will not be taking them anymore and will see if anything changes."

"I just finished my first month of this and I can honestly say I like it! My second day on it I felt like crap and threw up but I primarily blame that on myself because I ate very little that day. Overall great experience so far, my period started while taking the placebo pills like expected so I can say it did regulate my period because I usually skip a month. I have noticed my breasts have gotten more sensitive while taking this but it doesn't bother me too much and I believe its even helped with my acne, which is a plus! "

"I've never experienced problems with my previous birth control but Immediately after starting tri-strintec I started experiencing negative side effects from these pills. I thought it was all due to the change and needed to give my body time to adjust but after a little over a year I've had enough. My periods lasted a month and a half every 3-4 months, would spot for 3 days after intercourse, would constantly wake up covered in sweat, I exercised/ate healthy but still gained 9 lbs This pill has made me nervous to try any other birth control pill."

"Like many readers, I too came on to this site before taking my first pill. My story is pretty simple. I've always had very irregular and painful long lasting periods. The last birth control pill I was on was Loestrin 24 and I hated it. I was also on the patch for a year and never had any issues. In fact, I liked it. But my mother started hearing the negative news behind the dose of hormones in it and so I got off of it. I stayed off of them for another year or so and started having the same issues again plus acne. Puerto rico is really humid. So after a week on Tri-Sprintec I love it. I take it at night 8.30pm and sleep like a baby. No complaints what so ever. I've lost weight too. Weird. Stay active, exercise, drink plenty of water. It's worked for me."

"This was my first birth control I was put on. When I started it I absolutely loved it, cleared up my acne and no weight gained. I have always been a light bleeder and only every few months. With this, I started my period on the third week. By the fourth week I was bleeding so heavily I would have to change feminine products every hour, this lasted for three days before I called my doctor. She then had me taking a pill every four hours until it stopped. It made me so sick I had to stop by the fourth day. My period continued for five weeks, not stopping until I switched pills. "

"I started taking tri-sprintec because the pharmacy I switched too no longer carried tri-prevfem. My first month was fine no changes. However my second month on the pill my I went through a super tampon! Normally I barley go through a light. My cramps are horrible and I have a headache that just won't quit. My limbo is also way the hell down from where is used to be. The only good knews is my acne is slightly better durning pms. I am completely miserable after I finished this pack I am switching."

"Well, to start off I'm 16 years old and I have very strange/heavy periods so this birth control pill was prescribed to me by my doctor. So far I'm down to my last 4 pills of the first month and I don't have any negative effects from it. My acne before this pill was a bit severe, now its starting to clear up, a lot actually, I haven't had my period yet but I'm assured its on its way, I'm not moody, my cup size went from a C to a D, and I'm almost sure I've actually lost weight! Also, my appetite isn't as strong as it used to be which is strange, I don't eat exactly healthy but I do consume food in smaller portions and I work out a couple of times a week. I'm just very pleased with it right now, girls you should definitely try it."
