For Endometriosis "I used to have such severe cramps that I would occasionally vomit or be completely incapacitated for the first few days. I tried so many different things to help, and was skeptical about Aviane, but not anymore. It worked. While I still experience a little pain on the first day of my period, it's nothing compared to before Aviane. I am continually impressed."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Before I begin my review, I would like to point out to other viewers that some other reviews may scare you, but you should not be intimidated by them, as everyone has a different experience on birth control. That being said, I was iron deficient due to my menstrual cycle, but I was extremely against birth control as a solution for irrational reasons (weight gain, acne, chest growth). Once I began taking Aviane, it not only did its job of regulating my period within the first twenty four hours, but it also cleared up my skin and stopped my hormonal mood swings for the most part. Weight gain has not been too much of an issue either, as I have not gained a noticeable amount of weight. Overall, I have been very happy with the results of this medication, and would recommend it to others, especially those with heavy menstrual cycles."

For Birth Control "I'm on my second pack about 2 & a half weeks in. So far I feel better overall with my mood besides the fact that life's been stressing me out. My only complaints are the acne and my breasts grew so much and I'm having a hard time with how much they've grown so quick. I also feel hungry all the time and feel like I've gained weight. Other than that it's helped my mood turn from sad and moody to pretty calm and happy"

For Birth Control "Switched to Aviane from Lutera. Terrible mistake. First, my period was longer than normal (8-9 days). Second, I have fluid retention and bloating that kills my sex drive so I don't even know how the actual medication affects my libido. My skin is now oily and uneven with increased acne on my shoulders and back. My weight was steady and only varied about 2 pounds on any given day until I started this junk. Avoid it. Don't do it. Switching back to Lutera and throwing this out. I would rather be pregnant than deal with this medication."

For Birth Control "I will have been on Aviane for two years as of next month. Once my prescription ends next month, I find it is time to get off of it. Its done its job preventing pregnancy and I do have shorter periods. However, I have gained 20 pounds in the past two years, went from a 34 C to a 38 D (on the brink of DD), acne has stayed the same and I have experienced mood swings, anger, and depression. "

For Birth Control "At first this pill made me miserable. I had the worst mood swings and took it out on everyone around me. I stopped taking it after one month, but then I tried it again a few months later and nothing bad happened. You just need to give your body enough time to get used to it. No weight gain, no mood swings (by the second month), no breast changes, etc. My face isn't totally clear of acne and my period cramps/flow is only a little less, but this is a good pill if you just want the basics without altering your body."

For Birth Control "I was on Aviane for a month and a half and I can honestly say it was one of the worst expiriences of my life. I never had a problem with acne, I would get a pimple here or there ocassionally but Aviane made me breakout horribly. I am left with scarring from it and although it has gotten a lot better I am still trying to get rid of some of the acne. I felt depressed and emotional while taking it and definately had mood changes while on it. My period lasted 7 days on this and it came with horrible cramping and blood clots. I began to feel better just days after stopping this pill. I would not recommend it to anyone. The worst mistake I have made was to go on this pill."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this Aviane pill since February (so about 5 months now) and I absolutely hate the way it makes me feel. Ever since starting Aviane, my periods have been at least 10 days long or more and my last period lasted a full 2 weeks which is incredibly annoying. I have the worst mood swings ever and cry at the slightest things and often find myself hysterically crying for no reason. I have felt incredibly depressed since starting Aviane and want nothing more than to feel like my old self again. The only positives of this pill were that I didn’t gain any weight, didn’t experience any acne breakouts, my sex drive didn’t decrease, and most importantly, I didn’t get pregnant! I talked with my doctor and she believes the reason for my symptoms is that the dosage of hormones is just too low for my body so I received a prescription for a pill with a little bit higher dosage (Marlissa) and will be starting that soon."

For Birth Control "I am 24 and have been on the pill for 3 weeks. I have experience heavy breakthrough bleeding during week 3 with painful cramping as well. My skin has broken out substantially and have an increased need to sleep. Mood swings are minimal but are nonetheless still there. I hope this is just my body adjusting as it is my first time on the pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on Aviane for a month now. I switched from Yaz because I felt like Yaz was making me very emotional. I was off the pill for a month and then started taking Aviane, the first two weeks I was super emotional and I broke out pretty bad and I hardly ever break out. However, my skin is clearing up and my emotional state is much better than before. I think it just takes a body a little while to get used to this pill. I did not gain any weight which is nice."

For Birth Control "Worst medication it did what it was suppose too but the side effects aren’t worth preventing pregnancy. It was okay but I bleed for the first month. Then my skin broke out then was fine after the first month. Then the severe water retention and weight gain happened. Started 120lb and am 170lb now. The premenstrual symptoms were INSANE. Like I had MOOD SWINGS, ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION. I’m a year in and have had serious suicidal thought I never had mental health issues prior to this medication. Out of the whole month I only felt mentally stable one week. That’s so crazy. Please don’t take them your mental health isn’t worth it."

For Birth Control "I've been on Aviane for some time (years, I'm talking 7 years) and I'm hopefully going to be getting off it soon. I've never experienced scalp issues until taking this demon pill. Not only is half my hair gone and SUPER thin, I have nothing but scalp pain, and my hair is overly greasy and I have to wash way more often than you should be. I'm constantly negative, I hate everything, even when I convince myself not too and I just want to hide away from humanity. I can't believe I stayed on it this long. I hate myself for letting my hair get to this point, it's so embarrassing and sad...."

For Birth Control "I was nervous to take this birth control. I’ve taken 3 other types all pill form. I had previously experienced side affects from those pills such as increased hunger, paranoia, huge mood swings, irritability, quick weight gain, etc. With Aviane I haven’t noticed any of that, my period is lighter and shorter, the pills don’t make me feel nauseous or weird, and my mood is 100% normal and me. However it has been a lot harder and slower of a process for me to lose the weight I have gained from the other pills. Normally I lose weight relatively easily but not the case here. Other small negative is I do experience some cramping a few days before placebo week starts."

For Birth Control "I switched to Aviane from Yaz, since the pharmacy told me it was the same but cheaper. It was not! I took Yaz for over 5 years and switched to Aviane, and have been taking it for about 1 year now. PROS: Short period, no mood swings. CONS: My acne is SO bad and getting worse. (I actually have a much more healthy lifestyle than before, so I don't know what else it could be). I need to switch back soon or else my face is going to be wrecked. Also, very low sex drive like almost non existent, which could be a pro or con."

For Birth Control "I recently got switched to this birth control as a trial for my mood swings. And the first month of taking the pill, everything was fine until it was time for my period. my period was abnormally light but HORMONAL ACNE CAME BACK HARD. I wake up to one to two cystic pimples a day and it is so hard to keep under control even after period week, it keeps on coming and it’s making me stress out. Nothing has changed besides acne which is a BIG FACTOR. Getting switched to my old bc pills ASAP. Truly debating to stop taking these pills for the time being"

For Birth Control "I've been taking the Aviane birth control for 9 months. 2 months ago i started feeling _MY_ pregnancy symptoms = usual things started smelling weird, i would wake up starving, i started getting in my feelings(emotional) and watching certain movies i would cry. ✋Wait a minute am i pregnant? Took 3 test all were negative. So i guess the fact that I've been taking it for so long it actually kicked in and im experiencing the side effects. For Birth Control "I have been on Aviane for about 4 years, it has definitely done its job of preventing pregnancy. Unfortunately I have not experienced any larger breast as said by other users of this medicine. I also have not gained weight. The only thing that has changed is I do have light acne as opposed to having no acne before. I absolutely love my Aviane."

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control and I found a few pros and cons with it. I used it for 3 months. Pros: shorter and lighter period, and little to no cramps. Cons: vaginal dryness, vaginal sensitivity, very low sex drive, very bad acne. I switched to another pill since it wasn't for me. However, just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for other people."

"I started using birth control when I was 13 years old and am now 19 1/2. Aviane was the first thing that my doctor prescribed. I went from having heavy periods lasting over a month and being spaced up to 6 months apart to having light almost pain-free periods that last 3-4 days. I used to have horrible cramping and lining issues, but now I rarely have light cramps and my moods have been so much better. I haven't experienced any side effects and never want to go off of birth control. I do not need a contraceptive but it works amazingly for periods and hormone regulation!"

For Birth Control "Aviane made me feel terrible. After taking it for just two days I couldn't bear the side effects so I stopped immediately. I experienced extreme bloating, weight gain, moodiness, crying for no reason, depression, sore ovaries, muscle cramping, back pain and a migraine headache!"

For Birth Control "This is the first birth control I've ever been on and it works great. I've been on it for about 6 months. My period only last 5 days now, with no spotting whatsoever. I've had NO abnormal bleeding - however when I'm on my period the first day, my cramps hurt a little more than usual. My minimal acne is about the same, but during the first few months I noticed that Aviane cleared my skin up quite well. During my periods when I stop taking Aviane, my acne might flare up a bit. Some days my mood swings get worse; I find myself angrier at small things or I get depressed for no reason. It's not a big deal to me. My weight also stayed about the same - I've lost almost 3 pounds, but during the first few weeks of taking Aviane I was hungry a lot."

For Birth Control "I've been on birth control for almost 2 years and have gone through about 8 different brands of pill. Aviane if the only one that keeps my emotions balanced. I noticed a little weight gain, and my breasts got bigger, but really other than that its been effective, affordable, and doesn't cause me stress or discomfort. My periods went from 7-9 days to 3-5 days and its great."

For Birth Control "Aviane is the BEST birth control pill I've tried, don't let the bad reviews scare you! I've been on so many: Microgestin, Azurette, Apri, Trinessa, and Tri-lo-sprintec to name a few. I've had side effects with all of those. I had things like breakouts, bloating, insomnia, constipation, mood changes, breakthrough bleeding, so I was nervous to start this. I have not had a single side effect on Aviane! I was worried about maybe having breakouts since I have sensitive skin and was previously on Accutane, but my skin has been smooth and clearer than ever since starting! No bleeding, bloating, or mood changes. I wish I had started it sooner. And my doctor said it's a great low-dose pill. If you have tried them all and lost hope of finding a good pill, try this one, trust me!!!"

For Birth Control "My experience with Aviane has been really amazing. I lost a little weight when I was first put on it, but my appetite seemed relatively normal. I've not had any luck with it reducing acne, however, my period became completely regular. I can pinpoint it's start within a 32 hr range, and it has reduced my flow and cramps significantly. I used to get nauseous and dizzy when my period would start, and now, other than the occasional light cramping, it is hardly noticable."

For Birth Control "This birth control was awesome. It's very hard for me to go on birth control because I am sensitive to hormones but this one was perfect. Only side effect I had was sore breast but it wasn't that serious for me. I'm on Lessina now so I no longer take it (they are related). It's perfect too but I don't have sore breast on it."
