For Birth Control "I just want to say I found this site very helpful. I had been on Alesse previously and switched to Aviane because it was so much cheaper. Since switching I have found that I am more fatigued, am losing an alarming amount of hair, and feel sick after I eat. This page helped me a lot because until now I was stressing out thinking that I was possibly pregnant (I have had lighter periods since I started 3 months ago, but that only added to the problem). I am still going to take a pregnancy test, but after reading this article I feel like I will be able to at least sleep tonight."

For Birth Control "THIS IS THE BEST BIRTH CONTROL PILL EVER! I wanted to share my experience with everyone because after choosing a wrong pill before I realized how important it is to search to find the right pill. I'm on my 3rd month so far and I see no effect on myself. My weight is the same, my skin is the same, I don't have nausea or a headache (as I experienced on my previous pill called Esme) My mood is normal as how I am as usual. I loved this pill because I see no effect. So, I can move on to my life like I'm not on a pill. I started this pill after reading so many good comments about it and I definitely recommend it!!!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Aviane for a month now and have no complaints really. It's been great for regulating my periods and providing protection from pregnancy. My period was normal, and I haven't experienced any major weight gain (gained a 1lb or 2) or loss. My breasts are tender sometimes, and I've experienced some swelling. But I'm not complaining about the free breast job. The only thing that has been a bit annoying is that my sex drive has increased, and my libido was high enough to start with. Other than that, it's a great contraceptive that I plan on taking it for a while."

For Birth Control "I have been using Aviane for a month and a half now and I see nothing wrong with it. It did not make me sick, I think I did notice a swing on my mood while I was having my period - not a serious one but I was more emotional, which I'm normally not. Hopefully it was just a bad week but other than that this pill did not affect my emotions towards more postive or negative. "

For Birth Control "If you can make it past the first couple months of this drug, it's actually really good. I started taking it about five months ago, and the first 2-3 months were really difficult. I had horrible mood swings and would cry at almost nothing fairly often. I also got migraines during the placebo week and had a lot of vaginal dryness. Now that my body has adjusted, I feel normal again, no migraines, no mood swings, and no more dryness. My complexion has also improved. I've had unprotected sex all during these months and no pregnancy. I haven't missed any pills; I only took one about 3 hours late one time. I have already recommended this pill to friends, with the disclaimer to be prepared for the first few months of difficulty."

For Birth Control "I love this birth control. I've been on this pill for 3 months already and I simply love it. Works in a matter of a week and it really protects you from pregnancy. My boyfriend and I have sex all the time and I always get my period on the first day I take my placebo pills. When I started taking this pill I was 155lbs now I'm 146lbs. I must say losing weight is fantastic. Aviane makes me bloat some days and lose my appetite but the whole point is you won't get pregnant! Love it."

For Birth Control "I absolutely LOVE this pill. I have been through a lot of rough patches with my health, involving ovarian cysts, hirustism, hormonal cystic acne, and painful and heavy periods. When I first tried birth control in college, I was put on Aviane. It cleared up my skin to porcelain-like results within the first month, it regulated my cycle like clockwork, helped me shed unwanted weight, improved my sex drive, and even increased my breast size (bonus) from a small 34B to a full 34D cup. I am 5'4" and 130 pounds, so this effect only helped my self-esteem! I went off Aviane a few years later after my gyno took out two cysts in 2012, and since then I tried about 6 other pills, from Yaz to Sprintec to Lutera. NOTHING compares to Aviane!"

For Endometriosis "I suffered from Endometriosis for 5 years or more. I was in my early 20s when I began to be unable to so much as get up from the bed. I was sick to my stomach all the time & in constant pain. I was perscribed a great deal of pain medicines & shots. I went to a different hospital one night & they got me into surgery a week later or so found out mine was Stage 4 (my organs were attached to the left side of my body squeezing my organs with the scar tissue) the surgery took hours. Then I got Lupron shot for 7 months and then was put on Aviane. I had a little breakthrough bleeding at first but the massive pain stopped after I was on the Aviane and Lupron treatment path. Aviane is great but it must be taken at the same time everyday. Thanks"

For Birth Control "I'm 20. After reading such terrible reviews, I was nervous about taking this pill. Quite honestly, it's a good brand. I'm just about to start the 3rd pack. I've encountered no "horrible" side effects! No mood swings, no headaches, etc. Pill actually helped clear my skin. (I've had adult acne) Only effect I felt was very mild nausea. (Sea Bands helped suppress it) Also, light "period". Cramps were little to none. Lasted exactly 7 days, arrived just on time. Helped prevent pregnancy despite the fact I take it over 7 hours late almost every day. Some days I'm on time, other days I'm early then totally late. This is my first time on BC. To say the least, nothing scary about Aviane. It's a chill pill.."

For Birth Control "I am a 48 year old athlete with little body fat. I have not had a period or 4 years. Recently my hair began thinning and sex has been very painful. My doc suggested that I have blood tests to determine whether or not I was in menopause. The tests showed that my estrogen was low, so he prescribed me Aviane. This pill has been my MIRACLE drug. My hair stopped falling out, sex is no longer painful, and I feel happy all the time. NO issues except for very light spotting while taking the hormonal pills. I did call my doc to ask if this was normal, and he said that it was my body adjusting to the new hormone. I am very very satisfied with the outcome!"

For Birth Control "I started taking Aviane after experiencing horrible side effects from the first brand I was on. The only side effect I have experienced is nausea, so all I did was take my pill around supper time and it went away. I would definitely recommend Aviane to someone looking for a good birth control pill. :)"

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Aviane a year ago, and have since enjoyed my experience. My discharge is slightly thicker, but still has normal consistency from time to time. My period is very light, and my cramps are mild. Before, I used to have bad cramps. I will say that my libido seems to have slightly decreased, but I find I just need a little more time to warm up. Recently I have been experiencing anxious and depressive symptoms, but that could be a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic."

For Birth Control "Side effects I've had in exact order: -Dairy allergy (not sure if it's from the pill, occured a few months after taking.) -Constant right lower abdominal pain, with trapped gas pains, & bubbling after eating anything. -Extreme bloating after meals. Random changes: -Period was normal up until the past few months of being on it. (Been on it for over 3 years.) Super light & barely get a period. Also made me skip a month. -Cramps became more excruciating. (A week before & then during my period.) (Wasn't always like this.) After almost 4 years I dealt with all of the other side effects until I had -CHEST TIGHTNESS & HEART PALPITATIONS. Beware of your body and your symptoms. Always go with your gut. Every birth control has symptoms.."

For Birth Control "This is my second birth control pill. I have been taking aviane for 1 year and 3.5 months now and I love it! I used to have cramping so bad on the first day of my period that I would throw up, but since I started aviane my period symptoms are practically non-existent (except for minor break outs on my face right before it starts but this was a symptom prior to taking aviane as well). I also used to get frequent yeast infections and BV but since starting this BC those break outs have occurred WAAAY less often. I experience no negative side-effects physically or mentally."

For Birth Control "Took Aviane for about 1.5 years. Periods were extremely irregular. More often than not I would have them 2-3 weeks of the month...and rarely on the placebo week. However, I did not gain weight, my acne was controlled, and I didn't get pregnant. The periods were just extremely annoying to deal with."

For Birth Control "I have only been on this birth control for one week. DO NOT TAKE THIS. I have been angry, anxious and having really dark thoughts. I am never like this. I noticed my behavior changed drastically over the weekend. I also now have a yeast infection. I'm very red and the skin is sore. I wanted this to work but it has been scary as hell. I hope I go back to normal ASAP. Please monitor your mood if you are new to taking this."

For Birth Control "I was only on this for 3 months,. I have never been on any kind of birth control before or since. My cycle was always regular 31 days before Aviane. After I stopped taking it I immediately became irregular and got diagnosed with PCOS. No one in my family has ever had pcos and I am a healthy 23 year old. I've only had 2 periods this whole year. I TOOK AVIANE FOR THREE MONTHS AND IT MESSED ME UP SO BAD I DEVELOPED PCOS!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS"

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control regularly for almost a year now. I am very sensitive to the hormones and experienced extreme sickness I mean to the point I was throwing up every morning and on the verge of passing out no matter what I tried to prevent it. I learned that taking it in the morning solved this problem. Negative side affects are that I have a huge appetite (thankfully a high metabolism) constant headaches, worse PMS, no motivation, tiredness, irrational mood swings, and last week I noticed breakthrough bleeding and cramps halfway through the pack. But all in all my periods are short and I'm not pregnant yet! Remember every woman is different."

For Birth Control "I have been on Aviane for almost a month. Everything is normal, no weight gain. Some little mood swings here and there but nothing that I can't handle. My sex drive has increased a lot. I'm on my third pill on the fourth week but I haven't started my period not too sure when I will but other than that I'm happy with it, no complaints."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am on my 2nd pack Aviane and will be starting on the sugar pills tonight. I love this pill! I do not have as much side effects as how I used to have with other pills. I had a few headaches and some nausea on my first month of using this but those are gone now. No breast tenderness, no noticeable weight gain although I have increased appetite but I try to balance it with a healthy diet and exercise at least 3 times a week. My previous one (Sprintec) caused me to spot and I was having a period for 3 weeks straight. On Aviane, I have no spotting and my periods last for only 7 days and light. I used to have really heavy bleeding which caused my iron levels to be depleted. I develop pimples here and there but they are manageable I do not have any mood swings on this pill and that is just wonderful. I just feel happy everyday! Aviane is a game changer for me and I am so glad that I found it :)"

For Birth Control "I've used Aviane for approx. 14 years, I'm 43 now. My doctor recommended Aviane because it had a low hormone level. I never gained weight and my period have for the most part always been light. The only side effect that I've experienced is Melasma (dark spots on face). I've recently tried to get off of this birth control but I experienced immediate weight gain. It could be attributed to my age...I don't know. Since I'm single now am not sexually active right now I'm going to stop using Aviane to see if my dark spot problem clears up."

For Birth Control "This birth control seemed like it had no side effects for me until I realized it was literally making me crazy. I've always been a social person but since I started the pill I've had the worst anxiety and paranoia. It's different for everyone I guess, but make sure you realize that that definitely could be a side effect."

For Birth Control "After being on Ortho-Tri Cyclen, which gave me every possible bad symptom in the world, I asked my Ob/Gyn to put me on Avaine after reading some good things about it. Avaine has been a God send. I have been on it for about a month now. No/very little weight gain. Hardly any mood swings(nothing abnormal from when I have my period). No breakthrough bleeding and no acne. I am on day 2 of my period now and it even seems a lot lighter than it normally was. Avaine is Amazing!"

For Birth Control "I am on my fourth week of taking Aviane and the past 3 weeks have been miserable. The first week had little side effects, but my mood swings have been getting progressively worse throughout this month. In the past week I have started noticing extreme anxiety and cramping (even though I'm not on my period). Now that I am PMSing as well, I cannot stop eating and I feel extremely bloated all the time. Also, my breasts have enlarged but they feel as if they are covered in bruises. I am going to give this pill one more trial month, but so far it has not been good."
