Truvada (emtricitabine / tenofovir) for HIV Infection "I had to take this medication because my wife tested positive. From the day I started this drug, I had a headache. This went on for a month until I had what appeared to be a stroke, but all the stroke tests were negative. Once I stopped taking this the headaches and the problem went away. I would use extreme caution before ever taking this drug."

For Nonoccupational Exposure "I had a needle stick injury at work. I'm really having a bad experience with this product my eyes are itching and the my vision is affected. My nose is always blocked and I'm constantly tired. My chest is tight I'm having difficulty in breathing at time's. I wish I could just stop the treatment as I'm emotionally massed up. My hay fever is so worse. It's really not going good for me. I wish there was another tablet I can take."

Truvada (emtricitabine / tenofovir) for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis "Zero side effects. Was taking the generic form with zero side effects. Tested every 3 months. After 2 years, all tests normal, but the prescribing Dr. changed me to Descovy, saying it was hard on some people's kidneys. Not sure if the Dr. is getting kickbacks from Gilead as Generic Truvada is cheap and Descovy is still under patent and very expensive. Even though I only pay the co-pay, insurance picks up the rest. Was very happy with Truvada - no side effects with it or the new medication either."
