Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "I've had migraines for the last 10 years. Replax is the 2nd prescription I've tried. Two hours after the 1st dose my migraine was no longer in the usual cluster location my entire brain was ready to explode. As directed I took the 2nd dose. After 8 hours I finally felt better in that I could function again. 24 hours later I'm still "foggy", sleepy and have had several rebound headaches. I will not take this drug again."

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "This was a wonder drug for me! Had tried so many things from daily Topamax (did nothing), imigran, the snorty (nasal spray?) thing (can't remember its name), codeine, betapyn, acupuncture, special diets etc and this is the only drug that knocks off the migraine, deals with the nausea and leaves me functional at work. The only other drug I ever found effective was something called a 'migraine cocktail' that I was given on a work trip in a South African pharmacy - a little selection of about 6 tablets, 2 yellow, 1 pink, a few white. To this day I have no idea what was in it but it killed my migraine (probably nearly killed me, but it worked)! Outside of that, the Relpax is my absolute go-to. I have a script for both the 40mg (small migraines) and 80mg."

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "Not effective for me. I've been a migraine sufferer for 30 yrs and have relied mainly on Imitrex . My Neurologist has also been giving me BOTOX every 3 months for the past 6 yrs which has helped cut my attacks down immensely. However, he thought maybe I should try Relpax for those migraines I do get and it has not been helping me at all. My Imitrex 100 ( or generic) would usually rid me of a migraine as long as I took it within the first 15 or so minutes of onset. So , I guess I'll stick with what's worked for me."

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "The doctor recommended this over codeine (which worked for my migraines). I was absolutely the worst experience. Within 20 minutes tightness of my head, jaw and throat. Severe heart palpitations, sweating and agitation. I felt like I was either going to throw up or pass out and couldn’t sit up. I also felt heavy in the head. These feelings lasted for 3 hours. Never again will I take this medication."

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "Replax (Eletriptan) is the best Triptan for Migraine I have used and I have used them all. It gets rid of a migraine with in about 1 - 2 hours especially if I eat after I have taken it. I do seem to get a lot of reoccurence with this drug but that is the same for all triptans and I get a lot of Migraines as a chronic sufferer. Great short term results with Replax but side effects are very strong sleepiness as in I must lie down and sleep off the medication to be able to function but often a short nap will suffice, it does effect my ability to work but not as much as a migraine. I get 12 tablets a month on the NHS for free which is great and use a VNS ( vagal nerve stimulation) device as a preventative which is slowly helping reduce my frequency. Eletriptan is not often used in the UK due to the side effects of sleepiness. My neurologists advises it tends only to be used and tolerated by more severe migraine sufferers. However regardless of those draw backs it is worth trying as it does shift a severe migraine."

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "I started getting a migraine at 6:30am on my way to work. By seven I had all the major symptoms. I asked my boss if he had anything and he sent me to a friend. She had Relpax. I asked her if it would take the edge off and let me work. She said in 1/2 hour I wouldn't remember I had a head ache. She was right. This is the first medicine that stopped the migraine cold. I went to my Doctor and got a prescription of my own. No side effects at all for me."

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "I have suffered from migraines for many years. Over the years I have had many tests done and taken numerous medications for any kind of relief from the pain. The one and only thing I have found to help me so far has been Relpax. While it is expensive, even with a co-pay, I would pay any amount of money for this drug. In fact I normally cut my 40mg tablet in half and usually this is still enough to knock out my migraine pain and nausea within 2 hours. In my opinion this is a miracle drug."

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "Relpax has changed my life! I have suffered with migraines for years. I know they are usually hormone related. Relpax is like a miracle, most days I can take it as soon as my headache starts and within the hour I am pain free. Relpax recently saved my Disney Vacation!"

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "I have had headaches/migraines for 20 years and this is the first medicine I have tried that takes the headache away. It goes away in between one and three hours. This is definitely a miracle for me. "

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "I've had migraines since I was a teenager (now in my 60s) and this is the best treatment I've ever been prescribed. My migraine starts with pins and needles in my lips, tongue and occasionally ends of my fingers, followed by flashing lights which seem to be triggered by bright light, sunshine flickering behind trees, sun on snow, etc. If I take a Relpax within 10 minutes of symptoms the migraine doesn't progress to nausea, violent headache and loss of speech - as used to be the case. My GP in France prescribes these for me, and 1 packet now seems to last me between 6 and 9 months. Absolutely brilliant."

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "Have been afflicted with migraines for about 7 years now. Tried several medicines, including the prophylactics--with varying degrees of success and side effects. Relpax gives me my life back most of the time verses 3 day nightmare of pain. It does numb my face a little and make me woozy, but that's well worth it for me. It's so effective for my migraines, which definitely seem to be weather, and not food, etc., related."

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "This is the best migraine medication for me. I feel these are very different for each individual. But this has been the most successful at completely aborting my migraines most of the time. With other types I have had to take a repeat dose to get the results needed to continue a normal day."

For Migraine "packaging is as important as the effect of eletriptan! I was stuck with the Generic brand of Relpax by GREENSTONE/NEVER AGAIN! Obviously they do NOT test there own packaging. WORST packaging on market. The blister card is made of HEAVY card stock impossible tear apart. Then the worst is thin foil backing you need "pick" to start to "peel" off to get to Pill. Out of THREE cards/18 blister packs ONE peeled off. Now try this with a full migraine/use your strength to tear apart. You pick of the foil only to have it glued down tight so it does not peel. You must carry a knife or scissors or an exacto tool to get the pill out. All the while you are blind, vomiting, exhausted and maybe bleeding from your nose! NOT GREENSTONE GENERIC RELPAX!"

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "I’ve been taking Relpax for about 10 years now and I can honestly say I cannot live without it! Takes away my migraine and all my symptoms within the hour. Tried other medications that didn’t work and made me worse. Generic brands also did not work for me. Would recommend it to anyone. The only side effect I get sometimes is it can make me a little tired but I can handle that over a migraine any day."

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "I love this medication! It has completely changed my life. I give it a 9 out of 10 because I get the side effects, and almost always have to nap before the side effects disappear. They are also very expensive."

For Migraine "My insurance now makes me take the generic, eletriptan with only 6 tablets a month. First time I have to use the generic I was sicker than I have ever been. It was like I was never on medicine. I vomited twice, lost all my equilibrium, couldn't eat. Had to call out of work. Now I have to be a guinea pig again to find something that works for my migraines. I get sinus, cluster and tension migraines. Not looking forward to this."

For Migraine "I was getting migraines up to 4 times a week and the doctor prescribed this drug eletriptan to me. I have since found out that dairy was a big trigger for my migraines and when I cut that out my migraines went from 4 a week to maybe once a month. When I have a bad migraine I take one and within and hour my migraine is gone. I have no side effects from the medication"

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "I want to let everybody know what happened to me. My daughter committed suicide about 12 years ago and left two little girls to raise and I had to help raise. I began having major migraines from all the crying I did. They put me on Relpax. Relpax and it did work for my migraines. After a quite a few years like five years on them-I began having problems with my feet and legs hurting like crazy. My hands quit being able to type very well at my job and I started collapsing and dropping onto the floor eventually. I had to use a wheelchair and a walker and I had to do disability and I’ve been in bed for about eight years now unable to have a decent life. Now I realize that it was Relpax that caused it BEWARE"

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "This medication is not for me. I took it for my migraines about two months ago. I started sweating and got back and stomach pain. This time I took it and believe me when I say the pounding in my head is the better option. It has been over 24 hours and I can still barely use my left arm or take really deep breaths. The body pain including jaw, neck and shoulder pain was so intense I almost went to the emergency room. On the bright side the headache stopped."

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "I tried a few "triptans", Relpax is not the strongest one: it may take an hour before it starts to work, especially if I wait too long hoping for migraine to go away by itself (sometimes miracles do happen). For comparison, Imitrex works much faster with me, but almost immediately sends me in deep sleep. Relpax has minimum side effects: maybe some drowsiness and heaviness in legs, but I can still work if necessary. For a long time I was on Maxalt, it was less effective in relieving the pain but caused more side effects like drowsiness and severe cramps."

For Migraine "I’ve suffered from hormonal migraines since going off the pill 7 years ago. I was first put on Sumatriptan, but the max daily dose only worked most of the time, and stopped working all together about a year into taking it. My doctor switched me to Eletriptan, and I’ve been on it a year, and it’s still working. It stops my migraine within an hour, and it usually stays away with one 40mg dose. Once, I had to take it again after 24 hours, but it stayed away after that. It’s seriously been such a life saver and I hope it never stops working for me. The only reason I gave it a 9/10 instead of 10/10 is because it does make me drowsy, and the packaging is really hard to get into. I can’t for the life of me understand why the packaging is the way it is, but it’s extremely irritating. The drowsiness isn’t too bad, but I’m noticeably tired about two hours after taking it, and usually have to go to bed extra early that night. Small price to pay for such great pain relief, though."

For Migraine "Pharmacy started filling my Relpax with the new generic. I was optimistic as the brand name has been a wonder drug for me for years and seriously the only thing that brings me relief. Not only did it NOT work, it made me feel worse. And don't get me started on the ridiculous packaging - why would a company require people to need scissors to cut the medication out?! My doc and I are now having to do battle with my insurance company to start paying for the only thing that will work for me. It shouldn't be this hard."

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "Relpax has been a wonder drug for me..other than having to wait an hour for it to kick in, I've had no side effects at all. The only worry I have is the neurologist told me that it can stop working if you use it too often."

Relpax (eletriptan) for Migraine "I've been fighting migraines for 22 years, out of which I've been taking Relpax (40mg) for approximately 15 years to alleviate the pain, nausea, etc. It takes me about an hour to work fully, and I usually take it with some small portion of chocolate or something sweet. It works even a bit better, at least; this is my experience. There are some side effects, of course, such as feeling "a bit strange", heavy legs, etc., but they usually fade away in 5 to 6 hours. Lately, I have frequent (almost daily) migraines (also related to menopause), and I take them a bit too much. I also tried two drugs as prophylaxis and some other triptans, but they didn't work so well as Relpax."

For Migraine "Saved my life and career. I take Relpax at least twice a week and wouldn't be able to hold down a job without it. It's the only thing that works consistently. Side effects include a short nausea phase, sometimes joint and ear pain, sleepiness, and the need to pee. It also seems to make me more emotional/teary than usual. The side effects seem worse, the longer I leave it before taking medication. It's hard to know how many of these things are actually the Relpax and how many are the migraine itself. The relief and consistent performance are well worth the side effects for me. I just wish it came in larger packets (only 4 per packet) and wasn't so difficult to get. Also, I wish they'd score their 80mg tablets so we could halve them when the 40mg aren't available."
