For Birth Control "pros -much lighter period -shorter period (4-5 days) -almost no cramps -no pregnancy scares -clearer skin CONS -really sore boobs all of the time -high blood pressure -lost a lot of hair and my hair about half as thick as it use to be"

For Birth Control "I just started taking this drug about 4 days ago. Was on YAZ before. Did this because it was free for me. I honestly enjoyed YAZ and it was good. Just heard this was the same thing... But yesterday I have never experienced the worst mood swings of my life. I never have had so much anxiety about the dumbest things. I just took it a couple minutes ago and then was thinking about why my heart was beating so fast. Come to these reviews and realize it’s this awful pill that has never made me feel so mentally dysfunctional. Will be tossing these awful pills out, for your own safety I do not recommend. I’m normally a very happy person and these pills have definitely made me overthink my whole life and obtain not even an hour of sleep because I was jittering the whole night... Typically I sleep 9 hours and fall asleep right away in less than 10 minutes. WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A PILL EVER."

For Birth Control "Out of all the birth control's I've taken throughout the years, Ocella has been an absolute blessing! I started taking it a little over a month ago. Since then I haven't experienced any bloating or my usual hormonal acne breakouts! My skin hasn't looked this great since elementary school (and I'm 25)! Only side-effect I have experienced is I'm a little more frustrated near my period, but it's so worth it! 10/10 would recommend!"

For Birth Control "I started taking this pill because everything else gave me cystic acne. At first, I loved this pill, besides the fact that it gave me terrible mood swings and no sex drive. I tolerated that part because it seemed like I was losing lbs and increasing bra size which I was happy about. But about a year into it I started going thru periods of what seemed like depression, lasting about 3 months at the longest. 2 years into it, I'd gained about 10 lbs in 3 months (without any lifestyle change) and NOTHING I did would help me lose the weight. Finally I decided to stop taking it 1 month ago and I already lost 5 lbs, am 10x happier, and my sex drive is back. Didn't get pregnant, but not worth the long-term side effects."

For Birth Control "I started taking birth control before I married my husband. I was extremely worried because I have depression and did not know how the pill would effect me. My doctor told me to expect some nausea with the first month or so of taking Ocella and for that first month or so I definitely had some nausea but after that I have been fine. My acne has cleared up and I haven't had any unexpected mood swings. The only negative I saw was weight gain which made fitting into my wedding dress a little more difficult but it wasn't too extreme. The positive was that I went up to a C from an A in cup size. I have been on Ocella for almost a year and have had a positive experience overall. Especially before I took Ocella my periods have always been long and painful. Now on it I have noticed that my periods have progressively gotten shorter and I have had a lot less pain from cramps."

For Menstrual Disorders "I am 18 and I love Ocella. I feel like it's balanced me out. I used to feel depressed, moody and irritable for the two weeks before my period. Almost suicidal in the couple of days before it. Then my period would come full blast for the first two days and I would be in so much pain that all I could do was scream. I couldn't work or go to school. I took a lot of pain medicines so I was too high to function, and also could still feel occasional plain. Now, on Ocella, I felt the extreme pain for maybe an hour when my period starts, and then I'm able to take a normal amount of pain medicines and I'm fine to go to school. The mood swings before my period are very slight. I also use it as birth control. I do not feel a decrease in my sex drive."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this Ocella for 3 weeks.. and currently now on the 3rd week I’ve been bleeding heavy for 4 days straight (breakthrough bleeding? With lots of clots?) which is highly irritating and I’m already wanting to stop the medication. Doesn’t seem normal."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this for the past six months and I'm so ready to ditch it! Yes, it cleared up my acne but I've gained almost 10 lbs and cannot get rid of them! I've tried exercise and changed my eating habits, but no success. It's also made me really irritable and tired. Thankfully I'm meeting with my doctor next month!"

For Birth Control "Favorite birth control of all time! I originally switched to ocella when my insurance quit covering Yasmin, and I’ve been on it for 10 years now! After 10 years I started having some brown spotting, so I may start to look elsewhere, but virtually no problems with anything on this pill. It makes me feel “normal”. I’ve had a really good experience with this pill! Period very regular and light, no mood swings, acne, or weight gain!"

For Acne "I've been a few different kinds of Birth Control pills. Nothing really worked the way I wanted... One brand lowered my sex drive, another brand made my acne worse instead of better. Finally ended up trying Ocella even though I was nervous becasue of all the talk I hear about girls getting blood clots.. But I must say, this works. I have mild cramps, for a day or so, and it's only off and on. My periods are lighter and last usually about 4 days. My face is the clearest it's ever been. I should of been on this brand in high school. Once in a while I'll get a pimple. And it hasn't effected my sex drive. It's an A in my book"

For Birth Control "Did what it was supposed to do, i.e. I didn't get pregnant and I was sexually active the whole time I was on it. Also, I don't believe I had the single zit for the whole year and a half I was on it. Nice! However... I experienced a lot of very annoying headaches while taking Ocella. They were stubborn too, wouldn't go away if I took an Aleeve. Also, weight gain definitely happened. I went up 2 full cup sizes and "filled out" in general. I would say about 8lbs or so. (With little to no change in my diet/ lifestyle) Also, I feel that Ocella increased my anxiety and depression. It also affected my sex drive and level of lubrication. Everyone's body is different, hard to say if symptoms were from Ocella or unrelated."

For Birth Control "I have used Ocella for years and have not had any major problems. The most I have felt is some breast tenderness close to my period which I have always had and sometimes some mild nausea my first 2 days or so on the pill during the first active week. I am happy with the effectiveness. I had irregular and very heavy periods that would last 11 days. This medicine has given me light and regular periods normally lasting 5 days. I haven't experienced any emotional side effects or severe physical effects."

For Birth Control "Have been taking Ocella for 4 months, and at first the only things I noticed were positive; it cleared up the mild adult acne that I had developed around my jawline, and my breasts seemed to get bigger. Then, I began to notice more negative than positive. First, I've gained 6 pounds in 4 months with little change to my diet. Second, I experience spotting between periods. Third, I am ten times more moody than I was before which is strange for me because I am always pretty stable and happy. Last, I've been feeling very bloated and maybe a little constipated. So overall, the pill is doing the job and I'm afraid to get off of it because I don't want to start breaking out, but I also don't want to stay on it and continue to gain weight."

For Birth Control "I started taking Ocella due to complications with a ruptured ovarian cyst. I'm on my 10th day of taking it and I still have my period. I've been getting chest pain and rapid heart beats, I have absolutely no sex drive and I have been experiencing the worst migraines of my life. I will not recommend this pill to anyone."

For Acne "I’m 25 years old and I’ve been on Ocella for 6 months. I would take my pill every single night at 9 pm to reduce any side effects. I’ve been on birth control as a teen for acne and thought I’d try it again for acne and pregnancy prevention. CONS: This birth control has caused my acne to worsen, headaches, sensitive emotionally (I don’t cry easily btw but with this birth control I would cry easily) and lowered my sex drive. I gave it the benefit of the doubt to stick it out to see if my acne would clear up. In my case the acne cleared up on my forehead but moved from my forehead to my cheeks. The acne Ocella has caused are red pimples that are painful but not cystic because they have a white head. I wouldn’t ever breakout on my cheeks but mainly on my forehead and jawline. PROS: works well for skipping periods, no break through bleeding. No nausea. No weight gain. Fuller breasts. Prevents pregnancy for my husband and I."

For Birth Control "I'm still currently taking this drug, and there have been really no side affects other than an upset stomach if I don't eat when I take it, and it also makes me very touchy and angry. I used to never get raging mad but ever since I've been on the pill the simplest things set me off and I go made with out even realizing it's happening."

For Birth Control "This birth control has overall worked very well for me. I originally started birth control for acne and extreme cramps when I was 14 (I’m 26 now) and had first tried Tri Cyclen Lo which gave me a 3 month period and then tried Lo Estrin Fe which gave me a lot of cystic acne on my neck. Ocella I think helps my acne by balancing my hormones (I’m high in testosterone) and has made my cramps non existent. My period now only lasts around 3 days and is very light. The only downside is I think it’s made me gain about 10 lbs since restarting it after a few year break at 22 (I’m 26)... but weight gain may be from age as well."

For Birth Control "Not a huge fan. I started taking Ocella about 9 months ago only as birth control. It was my first experience being on the pill. Good: NEVER GOT PREGNANT! Meh: I went up a full cup size (C to a D, but I already have a small frame so I didn't celebrate) Bad: It gave me terrible nausea, headaches and migraines. I started having awful mood swings and felt like I was always lashing out. Period didn't change, I still had an extremely heavy flow for at least a week with little to no spotting before or after and said goodbye to too many pairs of cute panties. Worst of all, it brought an a horrible bout of depression that I'm still dealing with. I recently switched to another birth control with lower estrogen, so hopefully it goes better this time."

For Birth Control "I started out on Yaz and Yasmin. I have been losing my hair ever since. Suddenly I was switched to Ocella with no warning. I experienced the most beautiful skin and 2 day periods, but the hair loss did not stop. I was tested for PCOS but that's a negative. I have not experienced nausea, headaches, and definitely no decrease in sex drive. My PMS has always been terrible and that hasn't changed either way. I asked my doctor about the hair loss and was told that it could not be the birth control. Unfortunately I lost my job and my insurance. I was without birth control for 4 months. During that time my hair started to grow back. I am now back on Ocella and my hair is still growing back. I am 30 yrs old, I have been taking Ocella since it came out. I'm a fan."

For Birth Control "I've been using this birth control pill for about 5 months now and it's great! I do get the occasional discharge and sometimes moody. It made my breasts bigger but kind of sensitive. My acne has really cleared up after using so many different things out there to treat it. I recommend Ocella; it really gets the job done."

For Acne "I began using this birth control in January 2012 to treat cystic acne and to prep me for beginning Accutane. My periods before this pill were bad, I had heavy bleeding with painful cramps. Once I began the birth control they got lighter and now I have absolutely no cramps! My face looks fantastic now, I only have the occasional zit. I can handle that since I used to have 20 at one time. I would say I started to notice side effects around May of 2012. I began having pretty bad headaches, usually everyday when I wake up. I had a little bit of weight gain. The worst was how moody I began to be. I would really only like spending time alone. I also lost my sex drive completely. "

For Acne "I was given Ocella by my doctor to help cure my hormonal acne. My acne when from bad to very severe but I kept taking the pill hoping that all it was just an initial breakout. Seven months passed and my acne was at its worse. I finally gave up on the pill. What has cleared my face of acne is the regimen which I purchased online. My acne is gone but now I have acne scars which are deep pits in my cheeks. I'm now trying to get rid of the scars that Ocella caused me to have in the first place. DO NOT TAKE OCELLA!"

For Birth Control "I had high hopes for Ocella with all the good reviews I read, but no.....back story: I'm really 30s, PCOS lean and have already had to have a hysterectomy. This BC absolutely wreaked havoc on my stomach so bad that I've become intolerant to red meat. On top of all that awesomeness(sarcasm) it gave me horrible anxiety and turned me into an emotional mess.... I've switched to Happy Hippie Go With the Flow supplements and have had WAY better results. Because I'm PCOS and experience PMDD I've also switched to a low carb diet and pair that with exercise and I feel amazing.....but eating red meat now has me praying to the "porcelain god" for almost 2 days."

For Acne "I have been on Ocella for about 2 months now. I originally was on Zarrah and had the BEST skin - my light acne cleared up within the first 2 weeks & remained absolutely flawless for almost 2 years. I ended up having a 2 week period - nightmare, I know. I went to my Gyno who had then switched me to Ocella. I explained to her that I loved the way Zarrah effected my skin & didn't want to breakout on a new form of Birth Control. I'm almost finished with month 2 and have been breaking out with white heads all over my forehead, along with a few painful zits around my face. I use Clarisonic every morning/night and eat healthy/workout. My moods are great and I lost a few pounds, but I may not continue Ocella for this reason...remaining optimistic!!"

For Birth Control "Mild nausea when I first started but that has gone away. Cleared my skin a lot which was a surprise and so far I've grown two cup sizes. No weight gain or loss, and allows me to completely skip my period by starting a new pack rather than taking placebos. Only downside is mild mood swings, but nothing unmanageable. Definitely better than tri previfem"
