Vraylar (cariprazine) "I am taking this medication in combination with latuda for schizoaffective disorder. I have previously tried so many medications of the antipsychotic and antidepressant classes without much success due to intolerable side effects and ineffectiveness. This is the best thing I have ever tried as far as mood improvement and cognitive enhancing effects. I have tried this medication alone in the past and it caused insomnia, and wasn't effective for psychosis at the 3 mg dose. In combination with latuda, this is not a problem. As of writing this review, I am at week 1.5, and it is really starting to kick in, feeling a bit better each day. Never give up. Current medications are (daily); Latuda 60 mg Vraylar 3 mg Gabapentin 1500 mg Trihexyphenidyl 5 mg Fluoxetine 2.5 mg Divalproex 1000 mg"

Vraylar (cariprazine) "Works well on all symptoms. Treats cognitive symptoms better than other meds. Does not make my mouth twitch like some meds. No sedation at all. No sexual side effects at all. Only noticeable side effect is a disturbing mental state when going to bed at night. The only other drawback is that it is not yet available in generic."

Vraylar (cariprazine) "Vraylar worked the very first time where it helped with increased motivation and willingness to attend drop-in centers. After 3-4 weeks, developed increasing akathisia that a new doctor pulled him out and gave him Seroquel - that was a horrific move! He slept 90% of the 2 days he was on. So after a few days, we brought him back to Vraylar on every other day basis. The results from the first trial was not the same the 2nd time around. He's back on it now everyday, and his restlessness is progressively getting worse and his akathisia is bad. So we don't know if it's because of the Seroquel break that took away the efficacy or that it lost it's magic - we don't know. All we know is that my son is very restless and now very unhappy."

Vraylar (cariprazine) "I have schizoaffective disorder which is basically schizophrenia coupled with bipolar disorder. I've been on vraylar for a while and it hasn't done anything. My moods are still wacky and I still hallucinate, have delusions, sometimes I get some kinda catatonic state going on. About 4 months of it and nothing has changed."

Vraylar (cariprazine) "I was put on 1.5 MG vraylar, for anxiety. The anxiety stopped immediately! I have more energy, and no longer have to coach myself, to go places. But... my LDL cholesterol, went up, along with my weight. So, unfortunately, I have to discontinue this fabulous med."

Vraylar (cariprazine) "I tried Seroquel at initially 100mg once a day. Felt better for the first week but after that it stopped working; it wasn't effective. I am trying Vraylar. I started at 1.5mg, but it was too weak, so my doc bumped it up to 3mg where I am on for close to a week. I'm hoping it starts helping. I can feel a very little effect, though for right now, I'm hoping this will work. I will give it time and see. I'm hoping for the best. Let's see."

Vraylar (cariprazine) "I rarely experience side effects from medications. I was only able to take 1.5mg of Vraylar for 3 days (nights) because it caused horrible nausea. ~3-4 hours of taking it the first night I was nauseous, then gagging, then vomiting. Throughout the day I felt nausea which lifted slightly around 11pm only to return a few hours after I took the next dose at 12am. Tonight I didn't take it, I'm done, but still feeling slightly nauseous and now I'm looking at the half life of this drug (2-4 days!). It could be 2-3 weeks before I feel physically well again. Now I'm looking at the next med I'm supposed to try scared to death because of these side effects"

Vraylar (cariprazine) "Hi, my son is on vraylar, for schizophrenia it seems to help him with his seizures. He use to take medical marijuana when he went out places. Now he just takes vraylar, it seems to help. No more seizures but it doesn't seem to help with his voices. Since we went up to 4'5mg he started washing his hands constantly. Now he is on 6mg. He was better on 3.5mg. He also seems distracted from the voices. I think he was better on the lower dose at 3'5 mg."

Vraylar (cariprazine) "I have Auditory Hallucinations and changed from Zyprexa to Vraylar because I was so tired of the weight gain. I gained 20 lbs. I experienced restlessness, anxiety, upset stomach, insomnia and so much more. I actually had chest pain and went to the emergency room and and they did a CAT scan and two EKGs and found out it was anxiety! I have never in my life had anxiety that was so bad that I had shortness of breath and chest pain. I had sharp pains in my chest. The anxiety was so bad for me that I had chest pains and thought I was having a heart attack. The shortness of breath was so terrible throughout the day that I could barely finish task or chores. I know everyone is different and I wish this med could work for me because it did take away the auditory hallucinations. It made me so bloated and I barely ate. I had leg and back pain. I didn’t want to move but felt so restless. I could hardly sleep. I was on the lowest dose. Good luck to everyone that tries it. I hope it works for you. But Its not for me!"

Vraylar (cariprazine) "I have been taking Vraylar for over six months now. My anxiety levels went way down. Also, I definitely have had less paranoia and overthinking problems. Vraylar has helped with my thought processes. However, I have had trouble staying asleep on it. I am able to fall asleep but cannot stay asleep past about 2 hours at a time. My sleep has been very interrupted on Vraylar. In addition, I have gained over 30 pounds on this medicine. I have very recently decided to go off of Vraylar because of the sleep problems and weight gain. I wish I hadn't experienced these side effects because it has helped me think more clearly and be able to function without overanalyzing everything."

Vraylar (cariprazine) "vraylar has helped me a great deal. I feel it has lessened my symptoms. they are still present but I am not as overwhelmed with fear to the extent I used to be. I highly recommend this drug. Downside, it is extremely expensive. Try to get assistance from Allergen."

Vraylar (cariprazine) "I've only been on Vraylar two weeks and it's returned me to better cognition and a positive mood. The only side effects I've experienced are a little trouble staying asleep for long and an insatiable appetite. I gained 8 lbs in a month (but I was in hospital at the time and ate a lot of their food because it's better food than I get at home). I still have voices but my delusional symptoms have been greatly attenuated."

Vraylar (cariprazine) "I believe Vraylar has saved my life. However, I take the following medications as well. Zoloft, Seraquel, Lithium, Atavain, Restoril, and Ritilan. My biggest complaint is emotional numbness. Don't get me wrong, it's better then crying constantly and having severe paranoia but it's a hard way to live. I cannot feel emotions. There's a numbness, I CANNOT cry, it's like I'm detached from my own brain. With that said, I still feel the upside out ways the downside as I am still breathing."

Vraylar (cariprazine) "I feel like my old self! I am doing creative things like bead work and enjoy learning again, like studying Spanish. Getting things done around the house. I have been stable on Geodon for 16 years, but was having dyskenesia My only problem with Vraylar is the horrible insomnia. I am wondering if it will get better. A bit of nausea, but need to eat well is all. Overall I am grateful for it."

"Cariprazine really changed my Life, I was really bad before trying this med, I spent a lot of times inside a lot of hospitals, till finally I got cariprazine. My cognition improved so much, my negative symptoms decreased, and I don't have paranoia anymore. I still feel not so good sometimes, but I think I will feel better with more time, or if my doc increase the dose. You all schizophrenics, don't lose the hope!"

"My experience with Vraylar has been a blessing. I've had a job for a record of 6 months. I'm more compassionate & considerate without any feelings of resentment. I'm even wanting to go to college still. It's so wonderful to be able to process things so normally on Vraylar. There's been some side effects like headaches & others from allergies. Now thanks to Claritin/no supplements & less meds, no more headaches. I also learned all psychiatric medications & supplements mess with Neurotransmitters on some level. What's worse is they can also overlap in the targeting of those neurotransmitters causing undesired side effects. That's why I'm doing optimally well with only 2 medications: Vraylar & Prozac. A perfect combo that makes my life so easy. I'm normal."

"This is the second day I'm taking Cariprazine and I think I'm lucky that here in Italy I have all free medications, because the price of a pack of 30 pills (1,5 mg) is 67 euros... I couldn't afford to this. I am taking this drug for my dissociative Identity disorder (my alters have another mental illness like schizotypal, paranoid, narcissistic, borderline, major depression and schizophrenia... All of them are diagnosed). I was passing by all the negative symptoms of schizophrenia like emotional flattening. With this drug I am developing the need of being around people, yesterday I was so confused and sleepy but at the moment I feel kinda well. I don't have insomnia and I slept very well without waking up for the first time. I also have sexsomnia but I don't have enough information about the effects on this right now. I feel more active and I think this is good because I used to stay in bed all the day. By the way, my hallucinations don't seem to go away."

"Hi. I was taking cariprazine for 3 weeks @ 1.5 mg. It was fine. I felt less depressed. Then my doctor raised it to 3 mg and after 3 days of this dosage I felt terrible restlessness during the day. I stopped it and restlessness went away after 2-3 days. Now I'm again on 1.5 mg but I am not sure if this med is right for me. In hospital they diagnosed me with schizophrenia, but I am not sure if this is right."

"After I tried out this "new" medicine cariprazine I don't feel well at all. 1.5mg normal side effects but on 3mg horrible restless legs and problems with sleep at night, still after 3 weeks. Normally I slept good after a small dose of Mirtazapine ,with this substance impossible. Down to 1.5mg better but side effects still made and bad compliance. Bad experience with other new neuroleptics. Without I feel better to start a day at all."

"I had such bad symptoms with voices and hallucinations that my doctor started me on Cariprazine at the dosage 3mg. I am now at 6 mg and I can honestly say it is so peaceful to finally not hear a voice in my head or whispers in my ear. I finally have peace in my life and I am so thankful for my doctor and the creator of vraylar. I am in love with this medication. I have had no side effects other than being hungry but that’s typical with any antipsychotic."

Vraylar (cariprazine) "Well, Vraylar was another attempt at treating my auditory hallucinations. I’ve tried a lot of different meds and Vraylar seemed to be the best one I’ve tried so far. I had minimal side effects (some weight gain, sweating) but after a few years it seems my body has built a tolerance to it. I’m at the point where my current dose isn’t enough anymore but the next higher dose causes extreme side effects. I guess it’s time for another new medication."
