Butrans (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I’ve dealt with chronic upper level back pain for 13 years and have had two back surgeries. Throughout most of this time I’ve been maintained on hydrocodone but developed problems with tolerance, and I very much suspect I’ve also developed hyperalgesia, which is when long-term use of opioids makes you more sensitive to pain in general. I was at the point of barely being able to function. I found Butrans about two years ago. It's totally turned me around. I went from pain and fatigue level of 8 down to 1-2. The Butrans patch is nothing short of a miracle. Butrans helps with not just pain and fatigue but also with my depression. I’ve been on the same dose of Butrans patch of 10mcg for two years now, so I’ve not had tolerance issues, which I’ve read Butrans is unique in that way of not having tolerance build-up problems. No side effects whatsoever either. My life would be pure hell without it. Relieves pain way better than any narcotic I’ve been on."

Sublocade (buprenorphine) for Opioid Use Disorder "So I came here looking for information before I received my first shot. I was taking two 8mg Suboxone pills a day for a couple of years prior when I received my shot. Before I took the shot, I was legitimately nervous because of all these reviews I read on here. The actual shot was painful and burned, but it subsided in a couple of mins. You get the shot in your stomach, and it becomes an aching pain instead of burning, and the location will be sore for about 4 days. Don't be scared of the shot; it is a fleeting and temporary pain...worrying about having enough meds to last the month will not be a problem anymore. I no longer have to worry about taking the right amount of meds. It's much easier for me this way. Now I don't feel like I have to take a pill to feel ok. I've had no w/d symptoms, no side effects besides the pain from the shot. I'm writing this to ease your minds about the shot...it's so much better than taking the meds."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I was put on Belbuca the very first day I walked into the pain clinic. I wasn’t even currently taking Norco or any other short-acting opioid! I don’t need to take them every day, so going on Belbuca, in my opinion, is worthless! So, instead, my doctor gave me ten 5mg Norco tablets for a whole month! Wow, can’t even get relief for longer than 3 days of a 3-week flare-up! It’s insane how we’re treated!"

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "Two words - Belbuca sucks. It does not control my pain, it gives me headaches, dry mouth, and I can't sleep at night. I wish the government could be in as much pain as some of us are out there and see how they handle their day. I'll surely prescribe Belbuca to them."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "My husband has been on opioids for years for chronic back pain (degenerative disk disease). His dr retired last year and we have not been able to find anyone who will prescribe the meds for him. He also had surgery 2 years ago and the surgeon botched his surgery and he has chronic pain from that as well. We went to a new dr and he was prescribed Belbuca. This has been such a game changer for him. He is 4 days in and already there is a huge difference in him. Now to just get insurance to approve it. They denied our initial PA request and we had to pay cash for his first months supply."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "Was in an accident in 2015. A drunk driver hit me head-on. From that year until last week, I've had two surgeries on my back, PT, and pain management was the only way to help me. They added more pills and upped the dose of pain meds. Depending on pills for the pain was depressing. Long story short, I went to another pain management doctor for a second opinion. He tried me on Belbuca 425mcg twice a day; today is day 6. In the first couple of days, my head was foggy and I felt a little sick to my stomach. It goes away each day. The pain is 80% gone, enough to where I can stand it and have a life. I don't have to take any pills in between. I was so afraid of detoxing because of the lower dose. No detox at all. I can't believe the pain breakthrough this has given me. What I've been through and the pain was too much. I'm more active, taking longer walks. I'll never be able to run again, but I'll take this over having to take 6 pills a day of high doses."

Sublocade (buprenorphine) for Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I've been on the Suboxone films, 3 strips a day for the past 13 years. I just got my first Sublocade shot this morning and feel fine. I'm a little scared that it won't match up to the 3 strips a day, but I'm definitely going to give it my best shot! I still have some films in case I start to think I'm having symptoms, but I haven't taken a single strip all day, and I'm not having any symptoms. I really hope this works out because when you are taking strips or tabs, the doctors have complete control over your life! I feel like after 13 years of taking 24 mg of Suboxone a day, I am the one in control of my life. No more counting wrappers, no more leaving the clinic feeling like I am less than them, and no more leaving feeling like I've done something wrong!!! I'll keep you posted on how it's going later, in a couple of weeks."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "Belbuca SUCKS! I was more functional on tramadol max dose. The gov is preaching about Belbuca being a good drug. It's a lie. I take 450 daily. I've been given Oxy5 mg for PRN. I use the oxy to get out of bed. The Belbuca doesn't work! I suffer most of my day and hardly get out of bed. This is a sad situation. I was backed into a corner and forced onto this medication that doesn't work in order to get something that does. I believe that my doctor must have known how bad Belbuca is so she put me on the Percocet knowing I would suffer. When I go in there, my doctor ignores that I'm not getting relief. PM is refusing to give me any other medication. I was threatened with discharge if I didn't take the Belbuca. That can't be legal! I have only tried the three medications. It's completely insane that I've been treated like this. I know other people who were forced into a corner like I have who ended up overdosing on illegal street drugs just so they could get something for pain."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I've been on Belbuca 300 mcg for three months. Not at all effective in controlling my pain from back and hip surgery. As usual, when the government has anything to do with a situation like the so-called Opioid Crisis, they ruin the process."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I give this a score of -1. Belbuca provides zero relief for my pain. I was doing better before I started on it because the pain medication I was on before gave minor relief, where this does nothing. Does not stick to my cheek worth a hoot. Waste of time and money so far."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I have DDD (Degenerative Disc Disease), spinal stenosis, arthritis, and after 3 spine surgeries, one being a fusion. I have tried the spinal stimulator. That barely helps. I take 60 mg oxy per day with 30 mg Flexeril and was doing 30 mg OxyContin. My doctor took me off the OxyContin, added Belbuca, started me at 300 mcg, next month went up to 450, and this month went up to 600 mcg. I think this is the dose for me. I've completely stopped every other medication. Belbuca is my miracle as nothing else I've tried over 10 years has helped. I highly recommend trying it."

Subutex (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I am 65 yrs old been on pain medication for 40 plus years I have severe conveyed scoliosis , degenerative disc disease, multiple levels Of spondylosis , herniated L2-3 through L4-5 levels I have never abused my pain medication because I need it! I live in chronic pain so I take as prescribed, also like a normal old person I have arthritis and I have ulcerative colitis so I cannot take a lot NSAIDS. In addition tear in rotator cuff left shoulder. Now like always good people suffers for the bad !! The DEA has doctors paranoid to give the meds that truly help so they are pushing Subutex & Suboxone. I’ve tried Subutex for a couple months kept me from being sick as far as not having the meds but doesn’t help pain at all !! Everyone has different reactions to medicine.. therefore each patient should be screened by Dr .. the DEA do not have MD behind their name !! nor any other Medical Degree! They need focus on heroine fentanyl users / abusers not legit people in pain!!"

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Pain "Was on the Belbuca 7 day patch but suffered from withdrawals every 5.5 days. If not complete withdrawals then pain all day in the sixth day. Got tired of it and changed to the 12 hour film. No matter how hard you try, it sticks to your teeth and takes about an hour to go away. I found it took care of my sciatica but didn't do a thing for stretched nerve pain. It would break through the Belbuca at about 11 am and screaming breakout pain would be with me for 12 hours. So I couldn't tell if it worked at all. Either my breakout pain was a hundred and the Belbuca was a ten, but I could not tell if I was on the medication or not. I hurt every day."

Subutex (buprenorphine) for Opioid Use Disorder "If this medicine is used correctly, it can save your life! I have been on the medicine for about 2 years. Night and day from what I once was to what I am now! I used medicines (all of them) for 15 years. Now I have been medicine-free for as long as I have been on this medicine. I know it only treats opiate use, but for whatever reason, it has helped me through it all. This medicine has, without a doubt, saved my life. I went from never having anything to now a new truck, a nice house, and most importantly, my kids have a life I always dreamed of. Just thought I should share."

Butrans (buprenorphine) for Pain "So far, Butrans has been a lifesaver. I've been on every nerve medication and painkiller for the past 6 years. I was taking 10 Oxycodone every day just to stay functional. First day on the patch, I didn't think it was going to work. The next day I woke up almost pain-free for the first time in years. It made me realize how bad my pain had actually been. Butrans has been nothing short of a miracle for me. No more pills (except Mobic). No more rollercoaster of highs and lows of pain medicines. Just relief. It's only week 2, but the difference is amazing. Some minor side effects, little sleepy, subtle headache, but that's about it. I feel almost 100% normal again. I honestly had almost forgotten what normal felt like. Thanks, Butrans!"

Butrans (buprenorphine) for Pain "Had back surgery in 2000. 3 rods, 6 screws, and bone put in L4 L5 S1. Had severe pain for 12 years. No sleep (3 1/2 to 5 hours a night). No energy, seldom in a good mood because of the pain. Sometimes down for 3 weeks at a time. Began Butrans 10 mcg last year and man, what a difference. First week was getting 7 hours of sleep and pain level went from 10 to 1 or 2. It has been that way for the last 11 months. Now getting blisters and rash at the application site. Going to see the doctor this week. Hope he doesn't take me off. Really not looking forward to the return of a painful life."

Sublocade (buprenorphine) for Opioid Use Disorder "The shot was not nearly as painful as I expected & that night I definitely felt glowing/ content...the day after I was alright but the NEXT DAY & following days I had ZERO energy, watery eyes, painful legs, couldn't sleep like normal. I knew by getting the injection I wasn't getting the right dose or even nearly enough as I was on strips. I was so beside myself and angry I'd let the doctor talk me into shot. It's too new and not enough information online about it. I feel like a guinea pig!!! I FINALLY talked office into letting me come back in for supplemental strips. Went in he said I wasn't the only patient having withdrawals after switching. Feel duped and will be going back to strips for awhile. Seems to me, sublocade is more of a stepping stone to help patients get OFF Suboxone, but certainly not for those NEWLY sober and wanting to just feel normal. I've been through such a hard time with this medication."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Pain "I'm shocked reading the 1 star reviews. I understand I was not happen to lose the Vicodin. But I'm pretty sure folks posting aren't being honest because the truth is this medicine is truly remarkable. I've had major injuries and neurological pain for years. After meds much stronger in theory, this has been the best. Two years completely pain free. Unreal."

Sublocade (buprenorphine) for Opioid Use Disorder "I got 3 shots Sublocade the first 2 were the 300mg and then the last one was the 100mg. They told me I may feel withdrawals before the end of the month before the next shot but I never did. The first week was hard because I couldn’t sleep and was irritable. After first week I was really good. I went for 2 more because I thought I had too but as I went I didn’t like the lumps and felt I didn’t need it. The last shot was in March and now it’s August and I never felt any withdrawal. I have tiny lumps still but they are smaller. I do feel great. I wake up and I’m normal. The injection stings at first but pain goes away. It is life changing. I didn’t go back for more bc I felt I didn’t need too.I finally have my life back and for real. No fake bs I am one that’s completely shocked bc I didn’t believe in this. I don’t think you need to take it as long as they say but everyone is different. If you really want to stop and get your life back then now is the time sublocade is the answer. Goodluck!"

Sublocade (buprenorphine) for Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "So I was addicted to opiates for 4 years, taking them orally and crushing and snorting them. That's when I knew I needed help. I was losing everything and spending way too much money; I was basically working to get high. So I originally started with 8mg Suboxone 2 times a day, then 21mg once a day for six months. I was then offered the Sublocade shot. Initially, I was skeptical but ended up doing it and am glad I did. It did burn upon injection, and I was a little nauseous for a couple of days, but then fine. So I never went back for the second dose. Let me tell you why this worked for me, but you have to really want to not be dependent on another medication. My theory was it's slowly released into your bloodstream, so it will slowly leave as well. Yes, I did go through a little withdrawal with the hot/cold and sweating for like 2 days, but it was definitely nothing like withdrawal from the actual opiate itself. I am currently still clean and sober, loving my family, and life itself."

Butrans (buprenorphine) for Pain "I have had pain from 2 ruptured discs and spondylolisthesis for the past 9 years. I used to be very athletic (running, lifting weights, yoga, biking, etc.) and I had to give all of that up. That would have been okay if it had relieved the pain, but it didn't. I've spent the last 9 years on Hydrocodone, Tramadol, Flexeril, and others. I had given up on having any quality of life. That was until I found Butrans. I have been on it for about a month, and for the first time in as long as I can remember, my back does not hurt. I am sleeping through the night. I do not feel drugged out (like Vicodin) and have no side effects. Not one. This medicine is a miracle."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I cannot believe the 10 ratings on here. This drug is horrible for me. I've been taking oxycodone for 5 years and my doc is trying to get me to switch, as others have said, due to the opioid crisis. I'm not chasing a 'high', I am chasing a reduced pain life. My pain level was a 3 on oxycodone. Now my joint and nerve pain is at a 9, dare I say a 10. I hate to say a 10 but the pain level is back to the worst I've ever had. Not only that but I get extremely nauseous and get a BAD headache. I have to take Tylenol and Benadryl to sleep when I take it, and when I wake up I feel like I have a hangover - the side effects from this drug are worse than anything I had ever experienced on Oxycodone, and then added side effects from Benadryl compound it. This drug is just absolutely horrible and my body cannot tolerate it. Makes me think doctors are getting a kickback to prescribe it."

Sublocade (buprenorphine) for Opioid Use Disorder "Please read my experience as I have been off of sublocade for 70 days now with GREAT success. Just so everyone knows my history I snorted pills and H for almost 10 years. Within 3 months of being on the strips I lowered my dose to 4 mg. So I started with the 100 mg Sublocade shot. The first 30 days weren't easy. After adjusting to this, not only did things get better, things got great. Within 3 months the doctor started only injecting 75% of the vile, then 50%, then 25% and the last 2 months she barely injected me with 10% of the vile. I ordered another shot for $1200 bucks since I don't have insurance anymore and it has been sitting in my doctors fridge for 70 days. I haven't withdrawn one tiny bit. Coming off opiates and buprenorphine is like landing a plane. You want to slowly land a plane, you don't want to drop from 10000 feet to 1000 feet in one second. If you do it the slow way with the shot then I assure you that you will get off this addicting drug."

Butrans (buprenorphine) for Pain "When the doctor gave me these patches, I had a 'yeah right' attitude. I am stunned! I applied the first patch and 3 days later, I had significant pain relief! I just applied my 2nd patch and I am able to resume doing a lot of things I haven't done in years. I had side effects at first: sleepiness, shakiness, and severe nausea, but they passed within the first week. I am amazed and pleased at the effectiveness of these patches."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I suffer from severe arthritis of hips and knees and they need to be replaced. My doctor put me on Belbuca along with my other pain meds and I'm just going to tell you Belbuca is a joke. Thanks to all you junkies out there, people like me that suffer every day from chronic pain literally are forced on this drug because all you crack heads want to get high. You will eventually start trying to abuse this, and they will ban it as well. Because you find any way to abuse something, thanks to you all. Think of this when you get hurt real bad and need pain meds and the doctor won't give you any because they don't make them anymore. Think of that and I hope you finally see for yourself, but Belbuca is a joke."
