For Muscle Spasm "This medicine saved me during a sudden, incredibly intense muscle spasm in my neck/back. Side effects were mostly drowsiness but it gave me time to heal and let me sleep during the painful period. Great medication."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I have been taking baclofen for 2 months, and my anxiety for alcohol is less than when I was in 12 steps. I got sober for 3 years once, but then the monster appeared again, so I relapsed. But now I'm sober again and hoping it lasts."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Baclofen is amazing for benzo withdrawal. It simply removes all the anxiety and depression that comes with any benzo withdrawals. You need to get to at least 30-60 mg, though. Baclofen should revolutionize the benzo withdrawal or recovery treatment. Ask your doctor for some and free yourself from this nasty disease. I just fear the withdrawals now from baclofen, but I’ve heard they are nowhere near as severe as coming off benzos."

For Neuralgia "I have suffered with pain from lower back disk bulging for several years. The nerves being pinched send pain and extreme stiffness to my left hip all the way down my leg to the front of my shin. I am very active, and my job requires a good deal of physical work. Baclofen in combination with Gabapentin has given me such relief without the side effects of opium-class drugs. I urge you to speak to your doctor about these medications. They may help you with your pain. By the way, I am 50 years old."

For Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed baclofen after being in the hospital for MS. I have tried many times to get off of this. The withdrawals are not like being an addict more like you have to keep taking it because of the myriad of things you can’t take from stopping or weening off of it. The worst is how you can’t breathe or the pains that develop when you try to stop."

For Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed this medication for my back. After 3 days, I lost my muscle coordination, dropping drinks. My glasses could not focus. Within 4 hours, I fainted and woke up in the hospital 2 days later. I don't know if it was a stroke or a short coma. No one will tell me exactly what happened to me. After 2 days off this medication, I have had no symptoms. This is a very bad drug."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "After 30 years of addictions, mainly alcohol, I am finally free. Baclofen changed my life completely. The best part for me is it seemed to switch off the compulsion for it, easily with no fight or sense of loss."

For Muscle Spasm "Baclofen is the only muscle relaxant my pain doctor will prescribe for me. I have arthritis in my neck that causes headache pain. Seriously, sugar pills do better. Absolutely does nothing. Taking the prescribed amount of one 10 mg tablet every 8 hours. Definitely does nothing for my headaches."

For Migraine Prevention "I freak out about taking meds... but I suffer with tension headaches, and nothing will ever faze them. I was prescribed 10 mg of baclofen and just started to take half at night because I was worried I wouldn't wake up... so far, so good. No side effects, and I woke up. After a couple more days of making sure no side effects, I will take the whole."

For Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed this medicine for my hip bursitis because I could not sleep on my sides. I took it at 10:30 PM when I went to bed. I didn't wake up enough to get out of bed until about 3:30 PM. It is now almost 9:00 PM, and I am still groggy and not able to function very well. I slept super sound, did a lot of dreaming that I remember. I slept super soundly, did not suffer with hip pain that hurt when I turned on my side. BUT I was unable to wake up the entire next day. For me, the drug is NOT something I believe is helpful."

For Muscle Spasm "I have severe muscle spasms due to Multiple Sclerosis. I don't know where I would be without this medication. I will most likely have to go up a notch on my dosage very soon, but it helps greatly, so I don't care as long as it keeps helping me."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I had been abusing alcohol for around 3 years when I landed myself in the hospital ED, and the ED doctor prescribed me baclofen. I started on 40 mg per day, and this was not enough as I relapsed several times. I am now on 150 mg a day, which is my perfect dose. I no longer crave alcohol like I used to, and my anxiety feels more under control. I have gone back to study and started to rebuild broken relationships. Baclofen has been my miracle drug!"

For Hiccups "2020 - had total knee replacement surgery which prompted 5 miserable days of continuous hiccups. No sleep, no rest and was becoming depressed. One single dose of Baclofen 10mg and the hiccups were cured. 2024 - had knee revision surgery which caused 2 continuous days of hiccups. I begged the Hospital Doctor to prescribe Baclofen. Unfortunately, he tried chlorpromazine which did not work. Eventually, he agreed to try Baclofen. One 10mg dose cured the hiccups."

For Chronic Spasticity "I had transverse myelitis damage my spinal cord in 2016. I can walk, but for years my legs felt like lead, my hips were in so much pain, and every time I'd get into a cold bed my legs would twitch uncontrollably. I refused pharmaceuticals for years and told myself 'it must not be that bad because I can walk', but eventually I was retaining urine simply because my pelvic muscles were THAT tight. My neurologist urged me to try baclofen and it has been nothing short of A MIRACLE. My legs no longer twitch or go rigid, the pain in my hips is gone, and I can pee! I didn't realize how bad things were until they weren't. I am taking 10mg 3x/day and experience no side effects. My only regret is that I didn't take it years ago!!"

Lioresal (baclofen) for Migraine Prevention "I have been taking it for 90 days. The medication seems to have leveled off the severity and frequency of my migraines. I take several medications, and along with this medication, it seems to be really effective. The side effects are a lot better than taking opiates or anything that makes you dizzy and ineffective. I take Topiramate, Bupropion, Amitriptyline, and Gabapentin. When a headache hits, I take a Sumatriptan and let it dissolve in my mouth."

For Muscle Spasm "No side effects except mild drowsiness. I'm not impressed by how this drug is supposed to work on muscle spasms. I have been on it for a week and a half at 10 mg, 3 times a day. I feel my spasms are almost as bad as prior to taking this Rx."

For Muscle Spasm "I have been struggling with fibromyalgia for more than five years. Finally accepted my diagnosis almost 3 years ago. My doctor and I have been working together to establish a pain management program that works for me and still enables me to work and live a 'normal' life. Baclofen is by far the best muscle relaxer I have used and true to my doctor's recommendation, has the least side effects (dizziness, sedation, etc.). I am more than just pleased with this medicine. I am THRILLED because it helps to control the muscle spasms I cope with while allowing me to be an active participant in my life. After two years of taking it, I am taking 10mg four times a day."

Lioresal (baclofen) for Spinal Spasticity "This medication, Lioresal, has been a lifesaver for me and my fibromyalgia and DDD. I have had a great experience with the medication, with only one slight side effect: it makes me a bit sleepy. Small price to pay for the fabulous benefits."

For Temporomandibular Joint Disorder "I have moderate/severe TMJ, and I get a lot of relief from Baclofen. It's not indicated as a treatment for TMJ, but it works for it very well. The muscles in my face and jaw area are very tight, and the tightness causes jaw pain and tension-type headaches. Previous to trying this Baclofen, I tried Cyclobenzaprine, Orphenadrine, Tizanidine, and they all seemed to achieve their 'muscle relaxant' effects by making me tired. I take 20 mg of Baclofen at bedtime, and it relaxes my muscles very well and helps me sleep. The muscles in my face become less tight, and I do not grind my teeth as much, and my jaw feels so much better. Also, the painful muscle spasms I suffer from are reduced. The drug improves my quality of life greatly. I recommend it."

For Muscle Spasm "I was diagnosed with a muscular neurological disorder of unknown origin - SPS - with both my legs becoming stiff and my feet cramping a lot, with no control over lower bodily functions. I was given an Rx of 20 mg two times daily and was told to watch for gastrointestinal side effects. I didn't really have any problems there, but the Rx worked at getting me ambulatory again. I tried to up it to 40 mg two times daily, but it made me sleepy and the neuro told me it was better to take the 20 mg three or four times a day rather than 40 mg all at once. As with all diagnoses and prescriptions, some collaboration with the doctor and experimentation by the patient is required to find the right Rx dosage for the symptoms. I am able to ride a bike, walk and drive, get around, but no quick reflex activity."

For Muscle Spasm "I have extensive nerve damage in my spinal cord and was prescribed baclofen for spasms. It works great on the spasms, however, I can take the prescribed dose, and when I run out of Vicodin, then it causes me restless leg syndrome, so be careful if you're also on opioids and run out. For cramps in the legs, it is great, though."

For Neuralgia "I have MS and have been taking Baclofen for one of my symptoms for a few years. I have an overactive and painful parotid gland that gets a lot worse depending on the atmospheric pressure. I was erroneously diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia and was prescribed Gabapentin. That put me in a fog. I switched neurologists when I moved, and he put me on Baclofen for this symptom. I do not take this regularly but do take it if I feel the pain intensifying or if I know a storm front is approaching. Baclofen almost eliminates my pain. I can function as normal no matter what the weather. This medication has helped me maintain a normal lifestyle despite my MS."

For Muscle Spasm "I was given this medication post-hysteroscopy when I suffered severe hip, knee, and leg pain. Nothing touched it. I had major painkillers to no effect. Baclofen was a lifesaver. I also have fibromyalgia, and the bonus is I can feel a massive difference with that now as well. I am a bit dizzy, I hope it will pass in time because the benefits are worth it! No other side effects at all."

For Neuralgia "I have been taking baclofen for 5 years for my sciatic pain and neuropathy, it has helped me a lot. I take it daily, 3 times a day. It helps relieve my back pain better than any other relaxer and doesn't get me dizzy or tired or affect me in any other way but helpful."

For Migraine Prevention "An amazing drug for suppressing migraines. Sleep well, mind completely shuts off, though dreams are so real and a bit unsettling. Often a migraine will kick off, but the meds hold it at 1% pain all day. I always take 10 mg baclofen twice a day along with 2100 mg gabapentin. Dealing with fibromyalgia too, and this drug combo helps with pain. The muscles get relaxed and enable less painful exercise. Another beneficial side effect is reducing hypertension and slowing pulse to 60 BPM. Suffered for 30 years with migraines, up to 3 per week. Down to 2 per month now, which get aborted with sumatriptan."
