For Allergic Rhinitis "I used to be an avid allergy sufferer, and had been on all kinds of anti-histamines and steroids for my sinuses and congestion. They would work for a short time, but then, the rebound of my allergies were much worse than when I had gone to my PCP. I was recommended to an ENT and went through several allergy tests and also let him know I had nasoplasty (surgery for a deviated septum) on the right side of my nose and was considering having another surgery because I couldn't breathe on the right side of my nose. I was sleeping upright in a sitting position most nights, and just miserable. My ENT prescribed me Azelastine and within an hour after taking my first dose, I started feeling relief and was able to breathe clearly. That was more than 10 months ago and I recommend this product to anyone who may be having sinus issues. I am relieved I didn't have to have the painful surgery again, and I will continue my treatment with Azelastine. It really does work!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "I had sinus surgery a long time ago. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't!!! I have tried numerous meds and seen several doctors. MISERABLE was my first, middle and last name. Azelastine has been the best med this far. I do have as aftertaste but it's tolerable. I do experience some burning in my nose but it goes away quickly. I can't just depend solely on meds but must do my part. That is, wrap up when I go out into the cold and inclement weather. What's the use of using any meds if you won't put a hat on? That was some of my battle. "

Astepro (azelastine) for Allergic Rhinitis "Constant runny nose. Flonase doesn't work. Zyrtec D sort of works. I am stuffed up all day and night. Always sneezing. Not anymore. This medication works and I breathe clear. Sleep is better. It will leave a bad taste. To avoid this, tilt your head down when using. Problem solved. I've not had any issues with drowsiness. For now, it works. See what happens when allergy season begins."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I first took this medication when I had reaction to my allergy shot (at that time the dosage of the serum was increased) The doctor gave me this and it worked so I asked my allergist to prescribe me it. I've taken it twice and I still get the same reaction, stinging nose, dry mouth and sneezing fits as if I have a cold. I do have post nasal drip and sinus pain. It feels like I have a cold. The last time I took this was back was a month ago and I had the same reaction. I'm done with this."

Astepro (azelastine) for Allergic Rhinitis "Tried the new Astipro Allergy Nasal Spray that is available over the counter. All I can say is it does dry you up but it does nothing for nasal swelling. They need to change their ad because it clearly states it will reduce swelling in your nasal passages. It also does make you really sleepy so best to use at night if you can sleep with a stuffed up nose. I couldn't and so disappointed as I wanted an alternative to steroid sprays."

Astepro (azelastine) for Allergic Rhinitis "This drug helps with my nasal symptoms but it makes me drowsy, might be because of other medications I take on a daily basis (Cymbalta and Stahist). It has helped with my symptoms because if I don't use it, along with Flonase, I get headaches and stuffiness. I'm happy with it and will continue using it. Hopefully the drowsiness effect will get better with time. It did when I used to use Asteline."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I flew with a headcold about 8 months ago and had not since been able to relieve the pressure in my sinuses and ears. I finally went to an ENT after a couple urgent care trips for supposed ear infections. The ENT prescribed this... Within minutes, I felt a clarity in ALL my head sinuses that I hadn't felt since what feels like last year. Absolutely amazing. I didn't get the bitter taste my doc warned me about but I'll just chalk that up to what others are saying (I tilted my head forward when administering like in the medication's instructions). It only gets a 9/10 because I haven't been on it long enough to notice any negative effects."

For Allergic Rhinitis "So I've been on this new nasal spray for 2.5 weeks and I've noticed some odd side effects. Mainly that my throat has been becoming increasingly itchy over the course of taking this medication. So itchy that I would wake up in the middle of the night because I'd be scratching my throat with my tongue during my sleep. In most recent days the itchiness has spread to my nose and I have to consciously make an effort to keep myself from scratching it in public. I've continued taking this medication because originally I thought maybe it was just allergies or hay fever but after switching back to Flonase the symptoms have subsided."

Astepro (azelastine) for Allergic Rhinitis "One day after I started using the spray, I broke out in red dots around my arm pits. Did not pay attention and another day later my whole body was covered with red dots. My doctor advised I interrupt using Astepro and four days later I only see a small improvements in my skin condition. Asterpro is definitely not for me."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I noticed immediate sneezing with first does. At second dose I sneezed violently for about 15 minutes and off and on for several hours. A constant nasal drip started after the sneezing and I’m still miserable 48 hours after that dose. I won’t be using this again."

For Allergic Rhinitis "My ENT started me on Azelastine. I started with 1 spray each nostril, and worked up to 2, 2xs daily to see how it was going to effect me. The after taste is horrible. I even had my head bent down spraying towards the direction of my ear, instead of straight into my nose, like the pharmacy instructed me to do, but it's still gross. I decided to continue use anyway to see if it was going to help my sinus issue. I didn't notice any other annoying side effects, until today, when I started having nose bleeds. I haven't had a nose bleed since I was a child, I'm almost 60 now, and I've had 3 nose bleeds already today, so I do think Azelastine is most likely the culprit causing them. My sinus issues seem better on it, but they are a lot more dried out, so I think that's why the nose bleeds have started. I'm going to discuss this with my ENT, and I'll most likely be discontinuing using this nasal spray because of it."

Astepro (azelastine) for Allergic Rhinitis "I haven’t opened the bottle to look inside it but it feels like fire ants are the secret ingredient. A nose and throat full of very angry fire ants. I have no idea if it’s helping my allergies because my sinuses are crawling now and it’s awful."

Astepro (azelastine) for Allergic Rhinitis "I have been diagnosed with mild allergies, every season change is sort of like a big challenge. Since started using this product, my allergies go away for 3-4 days if not longer. The last time I used it was in May and I am back using it again the third week of June. It is a good product that works for me, the nose gets clear, the sinus headache goes away and I can manage."

Astepro (azelastine) for Allergic Rhinitis "I was taking Flonase and saw the ads for Astepro saying it worked so much faster and better than Flonase, so I tried it. Bad choice! It didn't see to do anything to stop my runny nose. It's back to Flonase for me, which worked very well, though it is a steroid. But if something doesn't work, no point in taking it."

Astepro (azelastine) for Allergic Rhinitis "It somewhat works however my nose runs 12 hours later so have to use it twice a day. After 3 days of trying I dumped it because it's like snorting Benedryl. It made me very drowsy. I went back to good old Flonase."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I have had allergic, and non-allergic rhinitis for most of my life. Azelastine users said it relieved congestion. I tried it so I could stop taking Sudafed. Last winter, the azelastine worked fine. I reduced the dosage to 1 spray, 2-3 times a day. I used it with one 12-hr Allegra, and 4-6 hour Sudafed tablets as needed. In spring, I needed more Sudafed. By July, my head was swelling. My glasses hurt my head. This week, it got worse. I was fatigued, feeling anxious and depressed, and waking up early with back of the head aches. Yesterday I looked up my drugs' side effects, and decided to stop azelastine. I didn't use it all day, instead using 12-hr Allegra twice/day; and 1 Sudafed twice/day. Last night's sleep was great. The alarm woke me up, feeling very calm with no aches, and I decided to stay in bed until I felt ready to get up. At 7:30, I was up, feeling calm and relaxed for the first time in months. If this doesn't continue, I will ask my doctor to refer me to an allergist."

Astepro (azelastine) for Allergic Rhinitis "Astepro medication was partially effective for my allergies. I had side effects like feeling super drowsy all the time & sinus when I was taking it. While it seemed to work at day time woth soda effects, it did not work at night time. My nose were still stuffed & runny at night. I stopped taking it after a while & opted for allegra which worked better with less side effects."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I was prescribed this nasal spray today and I honestly can say it’s the absolute worst tasting medicine I have ever tasted. No, I didn’t drink it but the longest lasting chemical bitter taste in my passages will not go away. Gagging on this stuff. So glad it was free through insurance because I’m calling my doctor tomorrow and telling her to never prescribe this awful stuff again. Not to mention it burns!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "Good product! Takes my terrible Sinus and Ear Pain right away! I do need to remember though to use it at night because the only side effect I get is drowsiness. I do take Ativan and Zyrtec as well, and it does interact with them both, causing CNS Depression so that could explain the Fatigue."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I have had post nasal drip for a long time. I smoke weed, I vape I don’t treat my sinuses well and I recently came down with HPIV (an upper respiratory infection) and it made my post nasal drip worse than ever I could barely breathe. I have taken this literally 3 times and still have chest congestion but oh my god...I can breathe. Let me note I have DEBILITATING ANXIETY and being sick is terrifying for me but this helped me get peace of mind. I hope whoever is reading this feels better there’s so much more air to come! Lol"

For Allergic Rhinitis "I'm 4 weeks out from being diagnosed from Covid. All symptoms cleared up quickly except for some occasional thicker nasal dripping and cough. I found some of this nasal spray in my cabinet (a script my wife filled, but didn't use). I honestly perceived myself not to be congested nor with a stuffy head/nose at the time of use. Then, one pump into each nostril and within 10 minutes I started getting considerable PN drip, but my breathing felt MUCH easier/clean than it had been, and my head felt so much clearer. I've taken oral antihistamines before, but never felt such an incredible improvement as I had with this spray - It literally fixed something I didn't even know was wrong. I was however sleepy over the next 8 hours. As for those who had "taste" issues, just check if you administered properly that might help some people: Even/centered at nostril opening. 1 Quick firm pump while inhaling NORMALLY - No sniffing of any degree. 1 pump per nostril."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I started in Azelastine about a month ago. Breathing is terrific, only problem I have is a muscle ache, specifically a very bad stiff neck on the right side. I was told by my dr. and pharmacist it is not from the medication, however muscle pain is one of the side effects. Will stop medication for the rest of the week and see if the neck gets better."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I have been on Azelastine eye drops and nasal spray for 4 months. I was taking these twice a day. Two days ago I woke up with an itchy rash covering most of my back and stomach. Went to the ER and was diagnosed with Idiopathic dermatitis and told to take Benedryl every 4 hours. I stopped the drug but I still have the rash. From what I have read about this drug this is a rare side effect. Very scary and annoying. This drug is not for me."
