Abilify (aripiprazole) "I was taking a lot of pills, some of which weren't working for me. Of course what works for the guy next to me might not work for me and vice-versa because our genetic make up is different. I have been taking this drug for about 3ish years and well I didn't noticed a difference until about 2 months ago when I raised the dosage by 5mg a day. I was on other antipsychotics as well as antidepressants and stuff for bipolar disorder. I'm on 400mg injection of abilify monthly as well as 5mg pill form a day still to this day. When I raised the dosage the voices stopped. They usually come back in some environments like at work, the gym or even when I get stressed but the voices and abnormal thoughts dimmed down dramatically I feel almost normal.."

Aristada (aripiprazole) "They gave my son a shot Aristada 882, went maniac up all night screaming like he was on fire. Everyday after got worst, they had to give him Perseris to try to counteract the damage from Aristada. If you love someone or yourself stay away from this horrible drug, poor garbage, poison."

Abilify (aripiprazole) "This medication over a years period began to make me become well, not cured. I noticed it beginning in 2008. I was isolated since 1991 in my apartment. Now I'm riding the bus. I don't believe the abilify did this by itself. I helped it along."

Abilify (aripiprazole) "Worst experience of my life. Stuck in mental ward, oral administration at first. Unusual sensation and altered perception of internal space were the immediate experienced effects. Later injections. Developed tics that refuse to subside. Perceived loss of cognitive ability. "

Abilify Maintena (aripiprazole) "Forced onto this medication via a CTO. Delusions are still strong and troublesome. Doctors have no idea how to treat this condition. Side effects include insomnia, anxiety, constantly feeling sick and have therefore lost weight. This medication is completely ineffective and it is easier to live with the delusions without the negative side effects."

Aristada (aripiprazole) "I was coerced into taking an injection of Aristada at a psych ward. They don't tend to tell you it takes around nine months to get this drug out of your system after one single injection. The half-life (the amount of time it takes for half of the original dose of the drug to decrease by half) is around 57 days for Aristada. For Abilify Maintena, which is a different injectable of aripiprazole, the half-lives for the 300 mg and 400 mg dosages are about 30 and 46 days respectively. So, if you happen to experience terrible side effects on the injection, such as extreme akathisia, muscle damage indicators on a blood test, extreme hunger 24/7, rapid weight gain, and depression, don't expect the effects of this injections to just magically disappear after a no-show to a scheduled injection. They will continue to drag out and be overwhelming, only decreasing in intensity slowly, slowly. Nightmare."

Abilify (aripiprazole) "It was not a nice time being on Abilify, I was psychotic before starting it and it did nothing to stop the demons in my head even temporarily. It also gave me a lot of anxiety or I don't know if it is anxiety just a very nervous jittery feeling like my body is leaving my mind or something so difficult to explain. IT sucks not effective for psychosis."

Abilify (aripiprazole) "My treatment for first episode psychosis started with olanzapine (Zyprexa). It was working really well but was leading to side effects amongst which weight gain was the most significant amongst them. So, eventually aripiprazole was started and I am on it for a while. It seems to be a good medicine with very few side effects and it has worked really well."

Abilify Maintena (aripiprazole) "Schizophrenia took away the love of my life for years. After he started this miracle injection, I see the person I fell in love with, not just sometimes like before, but all the time consistently with no delusions. It's only been 2 weeks, but I can see it working. The laughing and authentic smile on his face make me know the nightmare is over, and we can start to build our lives together. Very thankful for this drug."

Abilify (aripiprazole) "This medication has helped my son a great deal. He developed schizophrenia when he was 16.5 years old. He came forward with his symptoms at age 18 and has been on Abilify for three years. Thanks for the medication. I wish they would get a generic form of it. $700.00 a month is huge for a thirty day dose."

Abilify (aripiprazole) "Switched to Abilify from a high dose of Risperdal. Weight gain much less of an issue with Abilify, but drowsiness, depression and lethargy are a problem. Does not help with any negative symptoms. Abilify maintains a mental state with minimal psychotic symptoms for me, but also causes lactation and motivational problems."

Abilify (aripiprazole) "Whilst being forced to take this drug Abilify, on several occasions maybe around 10 or so times, mid stream during urinating my stream would suddenly stop and ejaculation would flow out and this is also very painful. This stopped happening when I stopped taking the drug."

Abilify (aripiprazole) "My mom who was on Prolixn for years was put on Abilify in 2005 and was on it until 2007. She became more needy and more annoying, but wasn't having the psychotic symptoms as bad. The mental health center who was regulating her medication never checked her blood sugar, only blood pressure. She took a random blood test at a Walmart store and found her blood sugar was way out of control. She comes from a family with no history of diabetes, and she did drink soda or eat high sugar foods. She stopped taking the Abilify cold turkey which caused her to rebound into severe schizophrenic episodes. No one could reason with her."

Abilify (aripiprazole) "I've been on Abilify now for 6 years for schizophrenia and at first it worked but now I was up to 10 mg and hallucinating visual and audible, severe muscle cramping all over my body, my legs and feet never stopped moving, I couldn't eat but I'm really small bites because I couldn't swallow, it removed my sex drive I'm a sex addict, it changed me in every way possible. I went cold turkey 2 weeks ago and I feel alive again all the side effects have all but disappeared. I won't go back to it or any other psychotic drug."

Abilify (aripiprazole) "This drug is okay for Psychosis but it can make me tired at times and sometimes I cannot sleep. I have insomnia from it. It takes away the bad thought but can make me have OCD like thought patterns and ruminating thoughts. I have been having odd side affects from it as well like blurred vision needing to look up all the time and sensitivity to light in my eyes. I feel more tired on it then I do off of it. My dose I take 400mg monthly and these are the side affects I am getting off of it."

Abilify (aripiprazole) "My father was taking this drug because the pharmacy had a shortage of navane. This drug caused him to have a mental breakdown which caused him to have to be admitted into the psychiatric division of a hospital. His schizphrenia is much worse on abilify and it fails to treat the symptoms of his disorder."

Abilify Maintena (aripiprazole) "I was coerced into taking this injection at a mental hospital where I was told if I did not have it I would be in there for a long time. My only symptoms were depression and anxiety at the time of admission. It is a horrible drug it gave me anhedonia so lack of pleasure. I also had side effects to begin with like constipation and I passed out on. Also had racing thoughts and severe insomnia. AVOID this drug if you can it is awful."

Abilify (aripiprazole) "I just got prescribed this yesterday and I took it today thinking it will be a great drug compared to the Zyprexa I came off of a few months ago. BOY was I wrong!!! This medication was GODAWFUL!! 20 minutes after I took it I started feeling insanely tired then that turned into extreme sleepiness and drowsiness, I became weak, I had severe akathisia, was insanely angry and irritable, I had hallucinations , vomiting and diarrhea. I quit cold Turkey. Most of the side effects wore off even though I took a nap but I still feel tired like I need to nap. Never again 0/10. I took this in 2012 when I was 13 but I don’t remember it being this awful. Terrible medication"

Abilify (aripiprazole) "I've been on this medicine for 2 weeks. I'm suddenly not wanting to sleep my whole days away! It makes my ADHD go through the roof though. A lot of pacing. I stopped ADHD meds because of the psychosis, but I think I may start them up again since I know I was getting psychosis because of schizophrenia and not necessarily the amphetamines. As for side effects besides the above first week had a stomach ache and slight headaches. Totally worth it though."

Abilify Maintena (aripiprazole) "I have a delusional disorder. I had a good experience. Calmed me down to the point I wasn't making rash actions and statements. Benefits: ups your dopamine in the right places, lowers it in the right places (rather than just lowering it altogether). Side Effects: Little to no side effects. There is a slightly dulled, or sedating, sensation... and at the same time, a little restlessness. But unlike when on other antipsychotics, I was able to go about my daily activities (and enjoy them). Dosage: 400 mg, also available in 300 mg injection. Ease of Use: Nurse comes straight to my door to administer. You might have to go to a hospital to get it done if you don't have a nurse. Notes: Combines well with Zoloft (sertraline). HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DRUG IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT TO STAY OUT OF THE HOSPITAL. IF YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN THIS AND INVEGA SUSTENNA, ALWAYS TAKE THIS ONE."

Aristada (aripiprazole) "I'm stressing out about this, and my next dose is due next week. I still don't think I have schizophrenia. This medication keeps making me gain weight. Every two months I get the 1064 mgs and gain 30 pounds right afterwards, Its also lowered my white blood cell count and all the vitamins. I don't know if the risks are worth the benefits, and I dont' know what the benefit is because I still don't think I have schizophrenia. I would rather smoke weed and take herbal supplements. Like is the health decline worth the mental exhaustion and Abilify makes you feel high. I'm thinking of switching to Wellbutrin."

Abilify Maintena (aripiprazole) "I have been using Abilify Maintena for 2 months now. I had very little problems with my illness to begin with but my psychiatrist decided to put me on it due to many trouble I have caused to some people a while ago. The drug has had for me very little to 0 therapeutic effect. In fact, now I have less motivation and a big social anxiety. I was before on Xeplion (invega sustenna) and abilify is still a lot better than Xeplion because it has a lot less side effect."
