My doctor in India prescribs it for 2 weeks (10mg/1 per day) & told me not to continue for more than 1-2 months? I see in this or various other user groups where people have been taking Singulair (montelukast) for many years continuously. I would like to continue Singulair (montelukast) more than a month or two as it helps my allergy/asthma.

How long you take Singulair depends on what triggers your allergy/asthma symptoms.
If your symptoms are seasonal then you will only need to take Singulair during that specific time of year - but if your symptoms are perennial (all year round) then you will benefit from taking it every day.

i am using montelukast sodium from 4 years.now i am facing problem in urination and contraction of muscles.too much urine and urine drops frequently.Can any one tell me something about this.is this montelukast side effect?

In the Allergist office I work in we have many, many patients who take it year round. It just depends on when you need it. I think it is a great drug & it helps my son year-round.
