For vaccination of healthy cattle five months of age or older.
As an aid in the prevention of viremia, nasal shedding, clinical signs of disease and reduction of leukopenia caused by Bovine Virus Diarrhea Virus 1b (BVDV 1b) infection.
As an aid in the reduction of viremia and nasal viral shedding of Bovine Virus Diarrhea Virus 1a (BVDV 1a) infection.
As an aid in the prevention of clinical disease and mortality due to Bovine Virus Diarrhea Virus 2 (BVDV 2) infection.
As an aid in the reduction of disease caused by Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) Virus.
As an aid in the prevention of shedding of Parainfluenza3 (PI3) Virus.
As an aid in the prevention of shedding of Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus (BRSV).
Directions For Use
Rehydrate aseptically the vaccine with the diluent provided, shake well and inject 2 ml of vaccine subcutaneously in the neck.
Resuspend 10-dose vial of vaccine with 20 ml vial of diluent or resuspend 50-dose vial of vaccine with 100 ml vial of diluent.
For Veterinary Use Only
PrecautionsDo not vaccinate pregnant cows or calves nursing pregnant cows, since abortions may occur. Store at 2-7 °C. Use entire contents when first opened. Burn containers and unused contents.
In case of anaphylactic reactions treat symptomatically (epinephrine) followed by supportive therapy.
This product has been shown to be effective in healthy cattle. Do not use in animals that are incubating an infectious disease or are under stressful conditions, or are in any way immuno-compromised. If the vaccine is used before 5 months of age, then revaccination after 5 months of age should occur.
Duration of Immunity has not been established.
Contains Neomycin and Nystatin as preservatives.
Do not vaccinate within 21 days of slaughter.
Dose: 2 ml subcutaneous in the side of the neck.
BVDV 1b and Associated Diseases: Bovine viral diarrhea viruses (BVDV) represent a significant cause for bovine respiratory diseases (BRD), fetal infection and reproductive failure. BVDV infections are manifested in cattle ranging from inapparent to severe disease with high mortality especially when co-infected with other bovine viruses and bacteria. BVDV infection in fetus between 30 and 150 days of gestation results in immunotolerant Persistently Infected (PI) calves. The PI cattle are likely the most important reservoir to shed and spread the virus to the entire herds and infect susceptible cattle. In US commercial herds of cow-calves, heifer, dairy, stocker and feedlot three sub-genotypes of BVDV have been identified: BVDV 1a, BVDV 1b and BVDV 2. Prevalence studies demonstrated that 0.3-0.4% Persistently Infected (PI) calves enter feedlots, and approximately 78% PI calves carry BVDV 1b (J Am Vet Med Assoc, 2006 Feb 15;228(4):578-84). Studies have shown antigenic differences between sub-genotypes, based on differences in cross-neutralization, monoclonal antibody binding and response of persistently infected animals to vaccination. Control of BVDV may be improved by the use of vaccines that contain BVDV 1b antigens in addition to BVDV 1a and BVDV 2 antigens.
