Given the risk of anaphylaxis with administration of intravenous blood products, a skin test may be performed to check for an immediate type of allergy; however, this test will not detect whether the patient is at risk for a delayed allergic response. If administered to canines, the risk of anaphylaxis may increase if the animal has a history of intravenous infusion of equine blood products. RTLRT™ is intended for equine or animals naive to equine proteins. Please review the health history of the patient prior to administration. If a non-equine patient has previously received equine proteins intravenously, there is the possibility of a severe reaction.
