Milk Supplement for Kittens and Food Supplement for Adult Cats

DHA

Probiotics

POWDER

Nutritional supplement for use in cats only. Whenever possible, kittens should receive their mother’s milk for the first two days because the mother’s colostrum milk provides extra nutrition and temporary immunity against some diseases. When indicated, Pro-Biolac™ may be used to fortify the ration of queens to help meet the increased nutritional requirements in late gestation and early lactation.

DIRECTIONS FOR MIXING:

50 g: To make 8 fl. oz., add warm water halfway to fill line. Shake well. Then fill all the way to fill line with warm water and shake until all powder is dissolved. Refrigerate after mixing. Discard if not used within 24 hours after mixing. To mix less than 8 oz of formula, add 2 parts powder to 3 parts warm water and mix until all powder is dissolved.

200 g: Using the enclosed (1 Tbsp.) scoop, add 2 scoops powder to 3 scoops warm water and mix until all powder is dissolved. This dilution will make approximately 2 ounces (60 mL) of formula. Complete canister will yield approximately 32 ounces of reconstituted formula. Do not prepare more formula than can be used in 24 hours. Refrigerate reconstituted formula.

DIRECTIONS FOR SUPPLEMENTAL FEEDING:

50 g: Feed reconstituted formula at body temperature. Use of a nurser bottle is recommended. Feed kittens at least 2 tablespoons (30 ml) per 4 ounces (113 g) of body weight daily. Divide the daily feeding amount into equal portions for each feeding. For the first 4 days of feeding Pro-Biolac the daily amount should be divided into 6 to 8 feedings. The number of feedings can then be gradually reduced to 4 per day (dividing the daily volumes into 4 equal parts). Kittens should be allowed to consume as much formula as they want during each feeding. Increase or decrease the amount fed based on the individual needs of each kitten. If diarrhea develops, consult your veterinarian for advice. Always wash feeding and mixing utensils with hot soapy water, rinse well, and dry after each use.

Divide the daily feeding amount into equal portions for each feeding. Small or young kittens will need to be fed 6 to 8 times daily. Larger kittens may do well being fed 4 times daily. Weaning Kittens: When kittens are old enough to lap, begin offering reconstituted formula in a shallow bowl. After kittens begin to lap, mix reconstituted formula with small amounts of kitten food to form a thin gruel. Gradually increase the amount of kitten food and decrease the amount of formula until kittens are eating only kitten food. Ensure that fresh water is always available.

Pregnant and Lactating Queens: Feed 2 reconstituted teaspoons (4 g) per 5 lbs. (2.2 kg) body weight daily until 2 weeks after queening.
