Active Ingredient

Each jar contains 500 000 000 I.U. of Penicillin G Potassium USP.

Each pail contains 15 000 000 000 I.U. of Penicillin G Potassium USP.

Penicillin G Potassium USP Soluble Powder (15 000 000 000 I.U.) Indications

Turkeys: As an aid in the prevention and treatment of infections due to penicillin-susceptible organisms such as Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae.

Broiler chickens: As an aid in reducing symptoms associated with necrotic enteritis caused by penicillin-susceptible Clostridium perfringens when administered at the beginning of an outbreak in a flock.

Swine: For the treatment of infections caused by penicillin-susceptible Streptococcus suis.

Dosage and Administration

To reduce the development of antimicrobial resistance and maintain effectiveness, use this antibiotic prudently.

Swine, Broiler Chickens and Turkeys:

Dissolve the contents of one (1) jar in 1682 litres (370 Imperial gallons) of drinking water (or approximately 0.2 g of powder per litre of drinking water).

Dissolve the contents of one (1) pail in 50 460 litres (11 100 Imperial gallons) of drinking water (or 20 g of powder per 100 litres of drinking water). This will provide approximately 297 000 I.U. of penicillin per litre of drinking water.

Administer as the sole source of drinking water for:

3 - 5 days to turkeys.

5 days to swine and broiler chickens

Prepare fresh solutions daily.

Warnings

1. Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 1 day after the latest treatment with this drug.

2. Do not use in birds producing eggs for human consumption.

3. Penicillins can cause allergic reactions in sensitized individuals. When handling the product, avoid inhalation, oral exposure and direct contact with skin or eyes.

4. Keep out of reach of children.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C. Keep from freezing.
