Mixing and Feeding Instructions
Mixing Directions
Mix 1/2 cup (1/4 lb) of Mare Replacer Powder™ into 1 qt of warm (100° F) water. For best mixing results, sprinkle the powder onto the water. Then agitate both, using a wire whisk. The mixing and feeding equipment should be thoroughly cleaned after each feeding. Enclosed measuring cup holds approximately 1/2 lb (8 oz) of milk replacer powder. Check cup quantity periodically.
Feeding Directions
The amount of Mare Replacer Powder to provide to a growing foal is dependent on body weight and size. The size of a foal is largely determined by the size of the mare. The National Research Council (NRC, 2007) has determined the amount of milk produced by mares, and these recommendations were used to calculate the total amount of Mare Replacer Powder to be fed per day (24 hours).
