NEWCASTLE-BRONCHITIS VACCINE, Mass. Type, Killed Virus, SALMONELLA ENTERITIDIS BACTERIN

RECOMMENDATIONS: This vaccine-bacteria is recommended for use in healthy chickens as an aid in the prevention of Newcastle disease, infectious bronchitis (Mass. type) and in the reduction of Salmonella enteritidis colonization of the internal organs, including the reproductive tract, and the intestine. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency recommends use of this product only for the vaccination of replacement pullets on premises with a history of Salmonella enteritidis contamination. To prevent interference with pullorum-typhoid testing, do not vaccinate birds that are to be tested for pullorum-typhoid until testing is complete.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS: Vaccinate chickens 12 weeks of age or older with 0.5ml (1/2cc) per bird. A repeat vaccination of Salmonella enteritidis bacterin is recommended 4 to 6 weeks later. The vaccine-bacterin should only be subcutaneously administered in the mid to lower portion of the neck in a direction away from the head. Do not inject into muscle or vertebrae. Birds should be vaccinated (primed) with live bronchitis vaccine of the Mass. type at least 4 weeks prior to injection with the vaccine-bacterin. Revaccination prior to molt is recommended.

Warning

Do not vaccinate within 42 days before slaughter. Post vaccination reactions may occur at the site of injection and include swelling or granulomas. Due to the stress of handling or moving birds, vaccination of hens in lay may result in a drop in egg production.
