Feeding Directions

Provide fresh, clean water and a high-quality dry feed on a free-choice basis at all times.

Hand Feeding: When hand feeding by bottle. Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer should be fed at 100-105° F. The following feeding schedule is recommended:

- After Colostrum Feeding to 3 Days: Feed 1/3 cup (2.66 fluid oz) of reconstituted Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer 4 to 6 times a day at 4 hour intervals.

- 4 Days to 2 Weeks: Gradually decrease the number of feedings and increase amount of Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer per feeding. At two weeks of age, 1 cup (8 fluid oz) of reconstituted Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer 3 times per day is sufficient.

- 2 Weeks to Weaning: Feed reconstituted Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer twice daily and in gradually increased quantities.

Use the following schedule as a guideline for feeding reconstituted milk replacer:

Free Choice Feeding: Mix fresh solution daily and provide ready access to a clean nipple feeder. When starting lambs on nipples they will require assistance; however, they will adapt readily and nurse independently within 1 or 2 days. Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer solution should be kept cool to help keep it fresh and prevent overeating.

General Recommendations

1. Keep all equipment used for mixing and feeding thoroughly cleaned.

2. Newborn lambs should receive colostrum as soon after birth as possible (within 3-4 hours). Allow the lamb to nurse the ewe, or offer 1/4 to 1/3 cup of colostrum by bottle every 3-4 hours for the first day of life.

3. When hand feeding by bottle or shallow pan, milk replacer should be about 100°-105°F.

4. Provide fresh, clean water and a high-quality dry feed on a free-choice basis after the lambs are 3 days old.

5. If scouring occurs, first cheek the environment for drafts and proper temperature, then evaluate sanitation. If scours persist, treat with a suitable antibiotic as recommended by your veterinarian.

6. Lambs should be weaned from milk at about 4 to 6 weeks of age or about 25 pounds of body weight. Abrupt weaning can be used; however, reducing milk replacer feeding a few days prior to weaning to encourage creep intake may be desirable.

NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION

Store in cool, dry location. Do not double stack pallets of milk replacer.
