Directions For Use
IMPORTANT: IOSAN* should be used only in cold or lukewarm water, NEVER in hot water (45°C maximum temperature).
A. MILKING MACHINES - BULK TANKS - UTENSILS
1. Flush thoroughly with cold or lukewarm water until all traces of milk residue are removed.
2. Dismantle all equipment and brush thoroughly in a warm (45°C or less) solution, 30 mL of IOSAN in 20 litres of water (1 oz./4 gal.) (25 ppm available iodine).
3. Immediately before use, all equipment should be rinsed with a solution of 15 mL IOSAN in 20 litres of lukewarm water (1/2 oz./4 gal.) (12.5 ppm available iodine). Bulk cooler should be brushed or sprayed with solution of 30 mL IOSAN in 20 litres of water (1 oz./4 gal.) immediately before use.
I. DISINFECTING UDDERS
Using a clean paper towel for each cow, wash with a warm IOSAN solution of 30 mL in 5 litres of water (1 oz./gal.). Dry udder and teats with a paper towel before milking.
II. DISINFECTING TEAT CUPS
Before milking each cow, immerse the teat cups for 30 seconds in a warm IOSAN solution of 30 mL in 10 litres of water (1 oz./2 gal.).
C. MILKSTONE REMOVAL
Should yellow colour show on equipment after the first use of IOSAN, milkstone is indicated. Remove it using undiluted IOSAN or equal parts of IOSAN and lukewarm water - spread over surface to be cleaned - wait 2 to 3 minutes, then brush and rinse, or use KLEEN-EZEY* or FOAMCHEK* as directed.
D. GERMICIDAL EFFICIENCY
The amber or yellow colour shows the presence of the active ingredient iodine. When colour fades, prepare a fresh solution.

DANGER: A severe eye and skin irritant. If swallowed, this product is corrosive to mucous membranes.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: Wear rubber gloves and safety goggles during use.
FIRST AID MEASURES: In case of accidental contact, flush exposed area with large amounts of water. If irritation or burn develops, get medical attention. For eyes, flush with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention. If swallowed, drink large quantity of milk, egg whites, gelatin solution or water. Do not induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately.
