HippironThis treatment applies to the following species:
IRON SUCROSE INJECTION USP (20 mg/mL)
Veterinary Use Only
Active ingredients per mL: Iron (as ferric hydroxide-sucrose complex) 20 mg
WarningsKeep out of reach of children. This drug is not to be administered to horses that are to be slaughtered for use in food.
As an aid in the treatment of iron deficiency in horses (equine anaemia).
Dosage and AdministrationWeaned foals and yearlings: 5 mL per 100 kg bodyweight.
Adult horses: 10 mL per 100 kg bodyweight.
By slow intravenous injection directly into the jugular vein, using aseptic technique.
CAUTIONS: Do not exceed recommended dosage. If clinical signs of iron deficiency persist, consult a veterinarian.
ADVERSE EVENTS: Anaphylactic reactions have been reported with the use of this product. If an allergic reaction occurs, administer epinephrine, cortisone or antihistamine immediately, as indicated.
StorageStore between 15 and 25°C. Protect from light. Do not refrigerate.
