Furantoin SuspensionThis treatment applies to the following species:
Veterinary Use Only
Warnings: FEDERAL LAW PROHIBITS THE ADMINISTRATION OF THIS PREPARATION TO ANIMALS THAT PRODUCE FOOD OR THAT ARE INTENDED FOR CONSUMPTION AS FOOD. Keep out of reach of children. This drug is not to be administered to horses that are to be slaughtered for use in food.

Furantoin Suspension Indications
Horses: As an aid in the treatment of bacterial infections of the urinary tract.
Dogs and Cats: As an aid in the treatment of bacterial infections of the urinary tract (cystitis, pyelonephritis, pyelitis).
Dosage and Administration
Shake vigorously before using.
Horses: For each 100Kg of body weight, administer orally an initial dose of 30mL followed by 15mL every 8 hours thereafter. Medication should be given for 7 days.
Dogs and Cats: Administer orally, 1mL per 3.5Kg body weight, every 8 hours. Medication should be given for 7 to 10 days for acute infections and 10 to 14 days for chronic infections.
Furantoin Suspension Caution
Gastrointestinal disturbances and hepatopathy can occur with this drug.
Nitrofurantoin is contraindicated in patients with renal impairment or hypersensitivity to this drug. Nitrofurantoin should not be used concomitantly with fluoroquinolones.
Store between 15°C and 30°C. Protect from light.
