For vaccination of healthy breeding swine, including pregnant sows and gilts, as an aid in preventing respiratory disease caused by SIV subtypes H1N1 and H3N2, reproductive failure caused by PPV, and disease caused by Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Leptospira bratislava, L. canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. hardjo, L. icterohaemorrhagiae and L. pomona. An 18-week duration of immunity following vaccination has been demonstrated against erysipelas. This product contains the following SIV isolates: A/Swine/North Carolina/031/05 (H1N1); A/Swine/Missouri/069/05 (H3N2); and A/Swine/Iowa/110600/00 (H1N1).
Directions For Use
Aseptically rehydrate the freeze-dried vaccine with the liquid component provided, shake well, and administer 2 mL intramuscularly. Healthy swine should receive 2 doses 3-5 weeks apart with the second dose administered 2-4 weeks prior to breeding. Healthy gilts, however, should receive the second dose as near as possible to 14 days prior to breeding. Revaccination with a single dose is recommended prior to subsequent breedings. Boars should be revaccinated semiannually.
Precautions
Store at 2°-7°C. Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened or rehydrated. Sterilized syringes and needles should be used to administer this vaccine. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Contains gentamicin as preservative. Temporary swelling at the injection site may be observed. As with many vaccines, anaphylaxis may occur after use. Initial antidote of epinephrine is recommended and should be followed with appropriate supportive therapy.Technical inquiries should be directed to Zoetis Inc.
