Description

FerAppease^® Finished Cattle contains a synthetic analogue of the Maternal Bovine Appeasing Substance (MBAS). MBAS is secreted by the sebaceous glands located on the skin of the mammary gland with the unique function of inducing an appeasing effect on the nursing offspring.

Studies have demonstrated that the use of MBAS analogue before animals were exposed to stressful events (e.g. slaughter, feedlot arrival, weaning, castration, branding, parturition etc.) reduced the levels of cortisol, inflammatory markers, and body weight loss associated with these stressful but required management practices and life-cycle events.

Directions For Use

FerAppease^® Finished Cattle is for use in healthy finished cattle by topical administration via oiler.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE OF OILER: Maximum number of cattle per oiler is 100. Use 3 Jugs of FerAppease^® Finished Cattle per oiler per 100 cattle.

DOSAGE RATE: For finished cattle, apply 120ml of FerAppease^® Finished Cattle per head of cattle.

WHEN TO USE: FerAppease^® Finished Cattle should be applied continuously 5 to 16 days before animals are sent to slaughter.

REGULATORY: FerAppease^® Finished Cattle is not a drug, medical device, or vaccine. FerAppease^® Finished Cattle is used only in healthy animals. The FD&C Act defines “new animal drug” as a drug intended for use in animals that is not GRAS (generally recognized as safe). Taken in the reverse, if a product is GRAS, then it is not a drug. (FDA Web Site unapproved animal drugs and 21 USC 321(v)).All ingredients contained in FerAppease^® Finished Cattle are approved for oral consumption by the FDA as GRAS. FerAppease^® Finished Cattle is not subject to PMO Item 15r as it is not a drug, cleanser, or sanitizer.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD: FerAppease^® Finished Cattle is not a drug, medical device, or vaccine.

A PRE-SLAUGHTER WITHDRAWAL INTERVAL IS NOT REQUIRED WHEN THIS PRODUCT IS USED ACCORDING TO LABEL DIRECTIONS.
