For the treatment of subclinical Bovine Mastitis due to Streptococcus agalactiae in lactating and dry cows following detection with the use of the “California Mastitis Test” (CMT) or the strip cup test.
Erythro-36 is a clear infusion of erythromycin, one of the most effective antibiotics for treating Gram-positive bacterial infections.
The natural oil vehicle of Erythro-36 rapidly releases erythromycin at high therapeutic levels for strong activity against Streptococcus agalactiae. This product offers a treatment for subclinical bovine mastitis due to Streptococcus agalactiae plus the distinct advantage of short milk-discard time.
Erythro-36 is recommended for treating subclinical bovine mastitis due to Streptococcus agalactiae, a major cause of mammary infections. This product may be used in either lactating or dry cows. Tests have pointed out that Erythro-36 is generally effective in eliminating subclinical mastitis due to this organism.
Directions For Use
Full Insertion: Remove both the red cap and the white canula by pulling straight up. Gently insert the entire canula into the teat canal; cautiously infuse the product.
Partial Insertion: Remove the red cap only, by pulling straight up. Gently insert the tip of the canula into the teat canal; cautiously infuse the product.
Thoroughly milk out each infected quarter. Clean the udder and teats by washing carefully. Disinfect the teat orifice(s) with an alcohol swab provided in each box or other suitable disinfectant. Choose the desired insertion length (full or partial) and infuse the entire contents of one syringe into each infected quarter. Close the teat orifice with gentle pressure and massage the udder to distribute the medication. Empty syringes should be destroyed.
Infuse the entire contents of one Erythro-36 syringe into each infected quarter. Repeat after each milking for a total of three consecutive infusions.
Infuse the entire contents of two Erythro-36 syringes into each infected quarter after the last milking.
MILK TAKEN FROM TREATED ANIMALS DURING TREATMENT AND WITHIN 36 HOURS AFTER THE LATEST TREATMENT MUST NOT BE USED IN FOOD.
Erythro-36 is supplied in 6 mL single-dose disposable syringes. Each box contains 12 syringes (code 09203).
Store between 15°C and 25°C.
