Disvap IV Caution
POISON
DISVAP IV INSECTICIDE: Premium fogging insecticide for use as a spray for the control of gnats, house flies, stable flies and mosquitoes in farm buildings. Also for use as a livestock spray for horn flies, mosquitoes, house flies, stable flies and horseflies.
FOGGING IN FARM BUILDINGS SUCH AS DAIRY BARNS, MILK ROOMS, HORSE BARNS, PIGGERIES, POULTRY HOUSES, SHELTER SHEDS, AND OTHER TYPES OF LIVESTOCK BUILDINGS.
Directions For Use
Reduce air movement in the area to be treated by closing doors, windows and ventilators. Turn off all possible sources of ignition in area to be treated. Remove all animals from building before using as a space spray. Apply as a space spray using an electric fogger or similar mist applicator, at the rate of 200 mL of insecticide per 100 m3 of space. Spray upwards to fill area with a fine mist. Keep area closed 15 minutes before ventilating. Direct spray upwards to all parts of room especially windows and other light sources and to areas where insects are present. The insects must be in contact with DISVAP IV to be killed. Ventilate treated areas thoroughly for at least 30 minutes before animal re-entry. Sweep up dead insects. Repeat as necessary with additional spraying of breeding areas. Spray only when temperature is under 32°C.
LIVESTOCK SPRAY FOR THE CONTROL OF FLIES, AND MOSQUITOES ON BEEF CATTLE, DAIRY CATTLE, HOGS, HORSES AND MULES. Apply 30-60 mL per animal, using a sprayer which produces a fine mist. Cover entire animal lightly, without making hair wet. Do not spray directly on udder. Do not spray animal’s eyes or mouth. Repeat once or twice daily as required. Treat dairy cattle at least 20 minutes before milking. Wash udder before milking. Spray from a distance of at least one metre.
PRECAUTIONS: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Not for use on humans. Harmful if swallowed. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing and avoid inhalation of fog or spray. Product contains petroleum distillate; wear mask or respirator while fogging. Keep container closed and store away from heat sources. Prior to fogging, all possible sources of ignition should be extinguished in the area to be treated. Wash after use. Do not remain in treated areas. Ensure proper ventilation after sealed areas have been treated. Do not contaminate food, feed or water troughs. Any treated surface that may contact food or feed products should be washed thoroughly with potable water after spraying and before reuse. Cover milk and milking utensils to prevent contamination from spray and dead insects. Do not use in areas where beekeeping equipment or supplies are stored. Product toxic to fish. Do not contaminate any body of water.
FIRST AID: If on skin or clothing: Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control centre or doctor for treatment advice. If in eyes: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call a poison control centre or doctor for treatment advice. If swallowed: Call a poison control centre or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control centre or doctor. Do not give any liquid to the person. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Take container, label or product name and Pest Control Products Registration Number with you when seeking medical attention.
TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION: Treat symptomatically. This product contains petroleum distillate. Vomiting may cause aspiration pneumonia.
Disposal
1. Triple- or pressure-rinse empty container. Add the rinsings to the spray mixture in the tank. 2. Follow Provincial instructions for any required cleaning of the container prior to its disposal. 3. Make the empty container unsuitable for further use. 4. Dispose of the container in accordance with provincial requirements. 5. For information on disposal of unused, unwanted products, contact the manufacturer or the provincial regulatory agency. Contact the manufacturer and the provincial regulatory agency in case of a spill, and for clean-up of spills.NOTICE TO USER: This pest control product is to be used only in accordance with the directions on the label. It is an offence under the Pest Control Products Act to use this product in a way that is inconsistent with the directions on the label. The user assumes the risk to persons or property that arises from any such use of this product.
