Injectable

Active Ingredient

Each mL contains the equivalent of 100 mg of iron as ferric hydroxide in complex with a low molecular weight dextran fraction.

Preservative:

Phenol

0.5% w/v

WARNING: Keep out of reach of children.

Dexafer Indications

As an aid in the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency in piglets.

Directions For Use

Prevention: Administer by intramuscular route, 1 mL one to three days after birth. May be repeated when the piglets are 2 weeks old.

Treatment: Administer by intramuscular route, 1 to 2 mL when 5 to 28 days old.

Disinfect the site of injection. Use a sterile needle (20G to 21G x 12 mm).

Dexafer Caution

If the symptoms of iron deficiency persist, consult a veterinarian.

Storage

Store between 15°C and 25°C.
