SALMONELLA ENTERITIDIS-KENTUCKY-TYPHIMURIUM BACTERIN

Cevac Salmune TEK Indications

This water in oil in water dual adjuvant bacterin is for use in healthy chickens, 14 weeks of age or older, as an aid in reduction of Salmonella enteritidis in the internal organs, intestines and reproductive tract, Salmonella typhimurium in the internal organs and intestines, Salmonella kentucky in the intestines and Salmonella heidelberg in the internal organs and reproductive tract of vaccinated chickens. Vaccination of breeder pullets should be in accordance with provisions established by the National Poultry Improvement Plan. To prevent interference with pullorum-typhoid testing, do not vaccinate birds that are to be tested for pullorum-typhoid until testing is completed.

A repeat vaccination is recommended 4 weeks later. Revaccination prior to molt is recommended.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS: The dose is 0.5 ml per bird and is administered by subcutaneous or intramuscular route using a 1/4 to 1/2 inch needle. Do not inject near the head. Prior to use, warm the bacterin to 68-77°F (20-25°C). Shake the bacterin well before and during use. Use aseptic technique.

Warning

Do not vaccinate within 42 days before slaughter. Post vaccination reactions may occur and may include swelling or granulomas at the injection site. Also, due to the stress of handling or moving birds, vaccination of hens in lay may result in a drop in egg production. Contains thimerosal and formaldehyde as preservatives.

NOTICE: This bacterin has undergone rigid purity, sterility, potency and safety tests and meets Biomune and USDA requirements. However, the user is advised that response to vaccination depends on numerous factors including, but not limited to, storage, handling, aseptic technique and the health and responsiveness of individual chickens.
