Directions For Use

Recommendations for use: This product is a live virus vaccine of chicken embryo origin manufactured from SPF (Specific Pathogen Free) eggs for administration to chickens as an aid in the prevention of avian encephalomyelitis. When administered to susceptible chickens, a mild infection results, which stimulates immunity.

Directions For Use

This vaccine is for vaccination of chickens at 10 weeks of age or older. Chickens should be vaccinated between 10 weeks of age and 4 weeks before egg production begins, by the drinking water, eye drop or aerosol spray methods.

Preparation of vaccine for drinking water use:

1000, 2000, 10 000 Doses

Remove the aluminum overseal and stopper and add clean non-sanitized water. Replace the stopper and shake well. Pour the contents into a container 3/4 full of non-sanitized water. Shake well and dilute as outlined in the chart below. A dried skim milk powder should be added at the rate of 2.1 grams per liter of water to the water used for the final dilution.

Method of vaccination: Withhold all medication and disinfectants from the drinking water 24 hours before and 24 hours after vaccination. Rinse waterers with clean non-sanitized water and remove all water from chicks for at least two hours prior to vaccination. Provide adequate space so that at least two-thirds of the chickens can drink at one time. Add mixture to water as per following chart:

Amount of water per 1000 doses

Meat Type Birds

Layer Type Birds

Age of Birds

10 weeks -15 weeks

18 weeks - 20 weeks

Divide the mixed vaccine into the waterers.

Provide no other drinking water until all vaccine has been consumed.

Preparation of vaccine for eye drop method:

1,000 Doses - Rehydrate to 30 ml

Rehydrate the vaccine with the diluent provided. Hold the chick with one eye turned up. Put drop in eye and hold until bird swallows.

Preparation of vaccine for coarse spray (aerosol) method:

1000, 2000, 10 000 Doses

Rehydrate the vaccine with cool distilled water in an amount sufficient to vaccinate the required number of chickens according to the directions of the spray cabinet or field spray manufacturer. Field spray application should be used only in houses that can be tightly closed. Close all windows, doors, ventilators, etc and turn off fans. Spray each 1000 doses of vaccine directly into the faces of 1000 birds. Leave house closed for at least 15 minutes after spraying. Always use eye goggles and.a respirator.

Store vaccine between 2-7°C.

All susceptible chickens on a farm should be vaccinated at the same time. If there are susceptible chickens on the premises, the virus may spread from the vaccinated birds to the susceptible birds and affect egg production or cause disease in chicks under six weeks of age.
