This medicine is available without prescription. However, you still need to take Potter’s
ExtraCalm Plus Tablets carefully to get the best results from them.

1. WHAT POTTER’S EXTRACALM PLUS TABLETS ARE AND WHAT THEY ARE
Potter’s ExtraCalm Plus Tablets are a traditional herbal medicinal product used for the short
term relief of symptoms associated with stress such as mild anxiety, tenseness or irritability,
based on traditional use only.
Containing Hops, Scullcap and extracts of Vervain & Valerian.

2. BEFORE YOU TAKE POTTER’S EXTRACALM PLUS TABLETS:
Do not take Potter’s ExtraCalm Plus Tablets:
• if you are allergic to any of the ingredients
• if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
• if you are under 18 years of age
• if you are taking any other medicines for anxiety or sleep.
Alcohol may increase the effect of this product. Therefore, excessive alcohol consumption
should be avoided whilst taking Potter’s ExtraCalm Plus Tablets.
Taking other medicines:
Please ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice if you are taking or have recently taken any
other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
You should not use Potter’s ExtraCalm Plus Tablets if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
because there is no evidence that it is safe to do so.
Driving and using machines:
This product may make you feel drowsy. If affected do not drive or use machinery.
3. HOW TO TAKE POTTER’S EXTRACALM PLUS TABLETS:
It is important that you follow these instructions carefully.
For oral use: Adults and the elderly: Take two tablets three times a day.
The use in children and adolescents under 18 years is not recommended.
Do not exceed the stated dose.
For the best results, you may need to take the tablets for 2-4 weeks continuously.
If your condition worsens or symptoms persist for more than 4 weeks, consult your doctor or
If you take too many Potter’s ExtraCalm Plus Tablets:
Stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor or pharmacist.
If you forget to take Potter’s ExtraCalm Plus Tablets:
If you miss a dose, take your next dose at the usual time. Do not take two doses at the same
time to make up for a missed dose. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist if you need
4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS:
Like all medicines this product can cause side effects, but not everyone gets them.
If the following or any other side effects occur, stop taking this product and consult your
doctor or pharmacist:
gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and abdominal cramps have been reported with
Valerian root. The frequency is not known.
Making medicines safer:
You can help make medicines safer by reporting any side effects to the Yellow Card
Scheme at www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard Alternatively you can get a paper Yellow
Card form from your doctors surgery or a pharmacy, or call freephone 0808 100 3352
(available 10am – 2pm, Monday to Friday).
5. HOW TO STORE POTTER’S EXTRACALM PLUS TABLETS:
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Do not use Potter’s ExtraCalm Plus Tablets after the expiry date. The expiry date is printed on
the label and base of the carton.
Do not store above 25˚C. Store in the original packaging.
Return any unused medicine to your pharmacist for safe disposal.
6. FURTHER INFORMATION:
Each film-coated tablet contains:
75 mg Hop strobile (Humulus lupulus L.),
45 mg Scullcap herb (Scutellaria lateriflora L.),
30 mg Dry Extract Vervain herb (Verbena officinalis L.) (3:1) (equivalent to 90 mg Vervain
herb) Extraction solvent: Water,
25 mg Dry Extract Valerian root (Valeriana officinalis L.) (4:1) (Equivalent to100 mg
Valerian root) Extraction solvent: Water.
This product also contains:
Calcium Hydrogen Phosphate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Stearic Acid, Colloidal Anhydrous
Silica, Magnesium Stearate, Maltodextrin, Tablet coating containing hypromellose, glycerol and
Potter’s ExtraCalm Plus Tablets are peach round film coated tablets available in containers of
