What does this medicine look like
Nelsons Hypercal cream is a smooth white to
off-white cream available in a 30g tube.
Please read all of this leaflet carefully before
using this medicine, it contains important
information. Please keep this leaflet; you
might need to read it again.
1. What is this medicine used for
A traditional herbal medicinal product used for the
relief of minor cuts and wounds, based on
traditional use only.

Do not use this medicine if:
• you are allergic to any of the ingredients or to
plants of the Asteraceae (Compositae) family such
as daisies, marigolds or artichokes (see section 6).
• you are pregnant or breastfeeding
• you are under 12 years of age
Important information about some of the
• contains cetostearyl alcohol which may cause skin
reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis), Methyl
parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and propyl
parahydroxybenzoate (E216) in this medicine
which may cause allergic reactions
Special warnings and precautions for use
• For use on the skin only. Keep away from
eyes and mucous membrane, such as the mouth
and nose. Do not swallow. If accidentally
swallowed, consult your doctor.
• If signs of skin infection are observed, consult your
doctor, pharmacist or qualified healthcare practitioner.
• Discontinue use of the cream if the skin becomes
red, irritated or dry.
• Avoid UV-exposure from the sun or sun beds on
skin where this product is being used.
• If your symptoms worsen or if you do not feel any
benefit from this medicine after one week consult
your doctor, pharmacist or qualified healthcare
3. How to use this medicine
For use on the skin only.
Before first use check tube seal is not broken.
Pierce tube seal with point in top of cap before use.
Adults, the elderly and children over
12 years: Wash hands before and after use. Clean
the affected area if required. Apply gently to cover
the affected area up to 3 times a day. Cover with a
plaster or dry dressing & bandage lightly if required.
Do not use the cream for more than one week. Not
for use in children under 12 years of age. Do not
use more cream than the label/leaflet tells you to.
4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side
effects, although not everyone gets them. Some
people experience itching, burning, redness, dryness
or other skin reaction, if you experience any of these,
discontinue use and consult your doctor, pharmacist
or qualified healthcare practitioner.

If you get any side effects including those not listed in
this leaflet, consult your doctor or pharmacist. You
can also report side effects directly via the Yellow
Card Scheme at: www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard.
By reporting side effects you can help provide more
information on the safety of this medicine.
5. How to store this medicine
• Keep this medicine out of reach and sight of
• Do not use after expiry date on carton & tube.
• Do not store above 25ºC. Store in original container.

1 g cream contains:
• 4.5 mg tincture of St. John’s Wort herb (Hypericum
perforatum L.) (1:10), equivalent to 0.45 mg St John's
Wort herb. Extraction solvent: Ethanol 33% v/v.
