What you need to know before
you take Lacidipine

Do not take Lacidipine

How to take Lacidipine

If you take more Lacidipine than you
should
If you take more of this medicine than you
should, talk to your doctor or go to a
hospital straight away. Please take this
leaflet, any remaining tablets and the
container with you to the hospital or
doctor so that they know which tablets
were consumed. Medical treatment may
be necessary.
An overdose is likely to cause effects
including uneven heart beat, rapid
shallow breathing, low blood pressure,
cold clammy skin or feeling dizzy, faint,
weak or sick.

Reporting of side effects
If you get any side effects, talk to your
doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes
any possible side effects not listed in this
leaflet. You can also report side effects
DIRECTLY VIA THE9ELLOW #ARD 3CHEME AT
www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard
By reporting side effects you can help
provide more information on the safety of
this medicine.

If you forget to take Lacidipine
If you miss a tablet then you should take
it as soon as you remember on the same
day. However, if it is nearly time for your
next tablet then you should skip the dose
you missed and take your next tablet as
normal. Do not take a double dose to
make up for a forgotten tablet.

The blister should be stored in the outer
carton to protect the tablets from light.

If you have any further questions on the
use of this medicine, ask your doctor,
pharmacist or nurse.

Possible side effects

Keep this medicine out of the sight and
reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry
date which is stated on the carton and
blister pack after “EXP”.The expiry date
refers to the last day of that month.
Do not throw away any medicines via
wastewater or household waste. Ask your
pharmacist how to throw away medicines
you no longer use. These measures will
help protect the environment.

Like all medicines, this medicine can
cause side effects, although not
everybody gets them.
Tell your doctor straight away if you
notice the following side effect:
s CHEST PAIN ANGINA INCLUDING CHEST PAIN
that gets worse.
The following side effects have been
reported:

people):
s HEADACHE
s DIZZINESS
s FLUSHING
s FAST HEART BEAT TACHYCARDIA OR
abnormal heart beat (palpitations)
s UPSET STOMACH OR FEELING SICK NAUSEA
s SKIN RASH
s AN INCREASE IN THE AMOUNT OF URINE YOU
pass (polyurea)
s FEELING WEAK ASTHENIA
s SWELLING OEDEMA PARTICULARLY OF THE
ankles
s CHANGES IN RESULTS OF BLOOD TESTS
relating to your liver.
Uncommon (may affect up to 1 in 100
people):
s CHEST PAIN ANGINA INCLUDING CHEST PAIN
that is getting worse
s LOW BLOOD PRESSURE HYPOTENSION
s FAINTING
s swelling of the gums (gingival
hyperplasia).
Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people):
s ANGIOEDEMA ALLERGIC REACTION THAT
causes swelling of the face)
s URTICARIA .ETTLE RASH
s MUSCLE CRAMPS
Very rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000
