HOW TO TAKE THIS PRODUCT
For oral use only
Shake bottle before use
Adults, the elderly & children over
12 years of age:
Start at first signs of a common
cold.
Take one 2.5ml spoon (half a 5 ml
spoonful) three times a day. Do not
use for more than 10 days.
Not for use in children under 12 years
old.
Do not take more than the label
tells you to.
If symptoms worsen, or persist after
10 days, consult your doctor or
qualified healthcare practitioner.
If you take too much of this product
(overdose). If you take more than the
recommended dose, speak to a doctor,
pharmacist or qualified healthcare
practitioner and take this leaflet with
you. Overdose of this product may
result in alcohol intoxication and
should be treated accordingly.
If you forget to take this product.
Continue to take your usual next dose
at the usual time. Do not take a double
dose.
Driving and using machines
This product contains alcohol and
therefore may impair ability to drive
or operate machinery. If affected do
not drive or operate machinery.

IF YOU ARE:
 allergic to any of the ingredients
(see ingredients section), other
members of the daisy
(Asteraceae/Compositae family
 under 12 years of age
 are pregnant or breastfeeding or
trying to become pregnant
 are taking any medicines known to
interact with alcohol e.g.
metronidazole

INGREDIENTS:
Each 2.5 ml of oral liquid contains 1.7
ml of tincture from fresh Echinacea
purpurea (L.) Moench root * (1:2).
Extraction solvent: Ethanol 45% v/v
*Certified organically produced
herbal ingredient.
This product also contains ethanol
(alcohol)
STORING THIS PRODUCT
Do not use after the expiry date
shown on the bottle. The expiry date
refers to the last day of that month.
Return any out of date medicine to a
pharmacist who will dispose of it for
you.
Do not store above 25oC. Store in the
original packaging. Keep the bottle
tightly closed.
Keep all medicines out of the sight
and reach of children.

BEFORE YOU TAKE THIS
PRODUCT
Do not take this product if you:
 are allergic to any of the
ingredients (see ingredients
section) or to plants of the
Asteraceae/Compositae family
such as daisies, marigolds or
artichokes
 have a tendency to allergies such
as hives, allergic eczema or asthma
 are under 12 years of age
 are pregnant or breastfeeding
 suffer from the infection
tuberculosis
 suffer from sarcoidosis
(connective disease disorder which
causes formation of clumps of
cells mainly in the lymph nodes,
lungs and liver)
 suffer from an autoimmune disease
such as collagenoses
(inflammation of the connective
tissue) or multiple sclerosis
 suffer from HIV, AIDS or another
condition which decreases your
resistance to infection
 suffer from a disorder which
affects your white blood cells such
as agranulocytosis (low blood cell
count due to bone marrow
disorders) or leukaemia
 are having treatment to reduce the
natural response of your immune

system to infection
(immunosuppression) e.g.
chemotherapy, radiotherapy.
 Have had an organ or bone marrow
transplant
 Are taking immunosuppressant
medication such as ciclosporin,
methotrexate
 are taking any medicines known to
interact with alcohol e.g.
metronidazole
Taking other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about
any other medicines you are taking
including any bought without a
prescription.
Take special care with this product
 Consult your doctor before taking
this product If you are prone to
develop allergic reactions.
Echinacea can trigger severe and life
threatening allergic reactions in
these patients.
 If symptoms worsen, or you get a
high fever, or symptoms persist,
consult your doctor or qualified
healthcare practitioner.
You should also know:
This product contains approximately
35% v/v ethanol (alcohol), i.e. up to
0.69 g per 2.5 ml dose, equivalent to
6.1 ml beer or 2.6 ml wine per dose.
Harmful for those suffering from
alcoholism, epilepsy or liver disease.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicine, this product can
have side effects. Side effects that
may be experienced include:
 Allergic (hypersensitive) reactions
such as skin rash, red itchy skin
(hives),
 inflammatory disorder of the skin
(Stevens-Johnson Syndrome),
 swelling of the skin due to fluid,
swelling of the facial area
(Quincke’s oedema),
 shrinking of the airways in the
lungs with obstruction
(bronchospasm),
 asthma and life threatening allergic
reactions (anaphylactic shock).
The frequency of these effects
occurring is not known.
Echinacea can trigger allergic
reactions in patients who have a
tendency to develop allergic
conditions.
 Association with autoimmune
diseases has been reported such as:
 Inflammation of the brain and
spinal cord (disseminated
encephalitis), painful lumps on the
shins (erythema nodosum),
 low platelet count destruction of
blood cells by antibodies (Evans
syndrome) , dryness in the mouth
with renal tubular dysfunction
(Sjorgren’s Syndrome).



A decrease in the number of white
blood cells (Leucopenia) may
occur in long term use (more than
8 weeks).
The frequency of these effects
occurring is not known.

your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This
includes any possible side effects not
listed in the package leaflet. You can
also report side effects directly via the

safety of this medicine.
This product is a dark brown liquid.
Available in 50ml and 100ml. Not all
pack sizes may be marketed.
