Heart Palpitations

Doctors call this bradycardia. For many athletes, this is normal.

 

Certain medications, especially some heart and high blood pressure medicines, will frequently slow the heart rate. Examples include beta blockers (such as atenolol, metoprolol, propranolol), diltiazem, verapamil, and digoxin.

 

Call your doctor's office for advice. Your doctor may want to adjust the dose of medication.
