Hair Loss in Men
A variety of prescription and over-the-counter drugs can contribute to hair loss.
Common categories of drugs that are known to cause hair loss include:
- Blood pressure drugs
- Blood thinners
High doses of certain vitamins also can cause hair loss.
Check with your pharmacist or physician to see if any of the drugs or supplements you are taking might be causing your hair loss. If so, you and your doctor can decide if you should stop taking it.
If it is related to the medication or supplement, your hair should grow back 8 to 12 weeks after stopping it.
