Major Side Effects

If any of the following side effects occur while taking enalapril / hydrochlorothiazide, check with your doctor immediately:

  • Blurred vision
  • chest pain or discomfort
  • chills
  • cold sweats
  • coma
  • confusion
  • decreased urine output
  • diarrhea
  • dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  • drowsiness
  • dry mouth
  • fainting
  • fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  • headache
  • increased thirst
  • irritability
  • loss of appetite
  • muscle pain or cramps
  • nausea or vomiting
  • numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
  • rapid breathing
  • seizures
  • shortness of breath
  • sunken eyes
  • sweating
  • swelling of the face, ankles, or hands
  • thirst
  • unusual tiredness or weakness
  • weak pulse
  • wrinkled skin

Minor Side Effects

Some enalapril / hydrochlorothiazide side effects may not need any medical attention. As your body gets used to the medicine these side effects may disappear.
