Raxibacumab Side Effects

Applies to raxibacumab: intravenous solution

As well as its needed effects, raxibacumab may cause unwanted side effects that require medical attention.

If any of the following side effects occur while taking raxibacumab, check with your doctor or nurse immediately:

Less common:
  • Itching skin
  • reddened skin
  • skin rash
Less common or rare:
  • dizziness
  • fainting
  • fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse
  • feeling of warmth
  • redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
  • unusual tiredness or weakness

Minor Side Effects

Some raxibacumab side effects may not need any medical attention. As your body gets used to the medicine these side effects may disappear. Your health care professional may be able to help you prevent or reduce these side effects, but do check with them if any of the following side effects continue, or if you are concerned about them:

Less common:
  • Pain in the arms or legs
  • sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
Less common or rare:
  • dizziness or lightheadedness
  • muscle spasms
  • pain at the injection site
  • sensation of spinning
