Probucol Side Effects

As well as its needed effects, probucol may cause unwanted side effects that require medical attention.

Severity: Moderate

If any of the following side effects occur while taking probucol, check with your doctor or nurse as soon as possible:

More common:
  • Dizziness or fainting
  • fast or irregular heartbeat
  • Swellings on face, hands, or feet, or in mouth
  • unusual bleeding or bruising
  • unusual tiredness or weakness

Minor Side Effects

Some probucol side effects may not need any medical attention. As your body gets used to the medicine these side effects may disappear. Your health care professional may be able to help you prevent or reduce these side effects, but do check with them if any of the following side effects continue, or if you are concerned about them:

More common:
  • Bloating
  • diarrhea
  • nausea and vomiting
  • stomach pain
Less common:
  • Headache
  • numbness or tingling of fingers, toes, or face
