Patient Compliance: Is There a Solution? Consumers Weigh in on the Questions and Answers of Complying with Drug Regimens

NEWTOWN, Pa., May 29, 2007 – The third installment of The Trend Report, to be distributed with the June issue of Med Ad News, will contain survey results from a study of 1,000 consumers and 100 primary-care physicians on the issue of patient compliance. Published quarterly by Guideline Inc. and Med Ad News, The Trend Report is a distinctive publication featuring statistical analysis of hot topics in the pharmaceutical industry utilizing primary market research and insight into potential implications for the industry.

Patients’ failure to comply with prescription drug regimens adversely affects their health outcomes and is emerging as a major concern for the pharmaceutical community as it affects companies’ bottom lines. The Trend Report will address the causes of non-compliance and consumers’ reactions to programs created to combat the problem, answering the following questions:

• Which resources are most useful to consumers in learning about medications?

• What are consumers’ attitudes toward taking medications properly and how compliant were they in the past year?

• Which types of programs are consumers interested in to help them take their medications properly?

In addition to the study results, The Trend Report will contain contributions from thought leaders in the industry.
