March 24--Drug maker Mylan Inc. said Wednesday it launched the website to help consumers understand the value and quality of generic drugs.

Questions about generics versus branded drugs persist, the Canonsburg-based company said, despite the Food and Drug Administration’s rigorous standards for all drugs.

"While the debate over health care reform continues," Mylan President Heather Bresch said, "one of the only proven solutions for controlling the rise of health care costs is generic pharmaceuticals."
