Health Tip: If You Have Sweaty Feet

-- Sweaty feet can cause slipping and sliding in your shoes, and increase the risk of a fungal infection.

The American Podiatric Medical Association offers these suggestions to help keep your tootsies dry and comfortable:

  • Thoroughly wash your feet daily with an antibacterial soap and water, making sure to clean between the toes.
  • Carefully dry your feet, then sprinkle with cornstarch, foot powder or an antifungal powder.
  • Wear socks made of synthetic materials that help keep moisture away from the skin.
  • Change your socks during the day.
