by Drugs.comZinplava is a human monoclonal antibody that works by binding with Clostridium difficile toxin B to prevent its effects on human cells. It is is used together with antibacterial drugs that are given to treat Clostridium difficile infection (CDI).
Zinplava is a prescription medication that lowers the risk of CDI from coming back in adult patients who are at high risk of CDI coming back.
Clostridium difficile causes inflammation of the colon and diarrhea, which can be deadly.
Zinplava is not an antibiotic and does not treat an active CDI infection.
