Medically reviewed by Last updated on Mar 23, 2020.

Official Answer

Bevyxxa is an oral capsule, once-daily Factor Xa inhibitor anticoagulant (blood thinner) used for the longer-term prevention (35 to 42 days) of venous thromboembolism (VTE).

Venous thromboembolism occurs when a blood clot form in the vein.

Bevyxxa is used for at-risk adults hospitalized for an acute medical illness, such as heart failure, stroke, infection and pulmonary disease, and that results in moderate or severe restricted mobility and other risk factors for VTE.
