Consumer information for this interaction is not currently available.
GENERALLY AVOID: Coadministration of chloramphenicol with other agents that can cause bone marrow depression, aplastic anemia, or agranulocytosis may increase the risk and/or severity of hematologic toxicity. MANAGEMENT: Concurrent use of chloramphenicol with other agents that can cause bone marrow depression, aplastic anemia, or agranulocytosis, such as sulfonamides, nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors, procainamide, phenylbutazone, clozapine, and depot formulations of antipsychotic drugs, should be avoided.
Drug and food interactions
ribavirin food
Applies to: Rebetron (interferon alfa-2b / ribavirin)
Food can enhance the levels of ribavirin in your body. Ribavirin should be taken with food or just after eating. This will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication. Do not take it on an empty stomach. Swallow the tablet or capsule whole.
