Drug Interaction Report
2 potential interactions and/or warnings found for the following 2 drugs:
- chenodiol
- EEMT DS (esterified estrogens / methyltestosterone)
Interactions between your drugs
esterified estrogens chenodeoxycholic acid
Applies to: EEMT DS (esterified estrogens / methyltestosterone), chenodiol
Talk to your doctor before using chenodeoxycholic acid together with esterified estrogens. Prolonged use of esterified estrogens can increase the risk for cholesterol gallstones and counteract the effectiveness of chenodeoxycholic acid in dissolving the stones. Your doctor may be able to suggest safer alternatives to esterified estrogens while you are being treated with chenodeoxycholic acid. Otherwise, you may require more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
